"Woof!"
"You're up to buddy? Well, let's go get something from the fridge."
John Doe yawned before he scooted his legs off of his bed while his dog companion jumped onto the floor.
They say a dog is a man's best friend. John foolheartedly believed in that because of Pochita.
Pochita was his family's pet dog. Er, well they didn't see him as a pet per se. They thought of him more like a family/ friend than a pet. Equal grounds and all that. Mostly because Pochita was more self-aware than the normal pet.
But that wasn't the strangest part about Pochita. The strangest part was the mini chainsaw protruding out of its head and its unusual orange color. He never paid attention to dog breeds before, and in general, has never seen an orange dog before.
Unless he missed something.
But let's get back to the chainsaw.
So, yeah. That's a thing Pochita has on him. A chainsaw protrudes out of his head, and he has handles that emerged from his body, allowing him to be wielded like a chainsaw, and his short tail is in the shape of a chainsaw's pull cord.
Was this an ability Pochita had? Did animals in general have abilities? Questions for later.
"I'm in the mood for some ramen. What about you, Pochita?"
"Woof!" Pochita smiled and wagged its cord-like tail. Ramen is always good.
John bent down to reach his pot under the stove and then reached for the cabinet above him to get a ramen package. He poured water into the pot and turned the stove on and placed the package of ramen in.
Pochita hopped onto his shoulder to get a smell of the cooking ramen. John scooped him off of his shoulder and hugged him. "Don't worry, bud. It'll be done soon."
Pochita closed his eyes and sat there content. He always embraced the hugs John gave him because hugs were nice to him.
Moments later John placed two bowls of ramen on the table and the chair out to sit in while Pochita hopped onto the table and started sniffing his ramen bowl. He then dunked his head into the bowl and started slurping away at the noodles.
John too had dug into his bowl of ramen and started slurping away at the wonderous noodles that had been made.
"You know something, Pochita?"
Pochita lifted his body/head out of the bowl and stared at John with a tilt. He was so dang cute.
"I'm a little nervous about tomorrow. You know, I just transferred to Wellston, and tomorrow, technically today is my first day back in school for 3 months." John paused a bit before reaching over the table and rubbing the sides of Pochita's face which he relished in. "I did a lot of shitty things back in New Bostin."
Pochita's eyes sagged a bit as he whined. He remembered a lot of what John did back then.
"I hurt a lot of people. So now, I'm hoping that Wellston will be a new start for me." John lifted Pochita and held him above him. "My dream is to live a normal life now. One away from this dumb hierarchy. I'm hoping Wellston will focus more on education with that stupidly hard entrance exam."
Pochita shivered at the memory of the both of them staying up for nights in a row to prepare John for his big test.
"Well, I guess that's enough for now. Let's finish up and go back to bed now 'cause it's going to be a big day ahead of us." John and Pochita quickly finished the noodles by inhaling them. He then grabbed both bowls and placed them in the sink, deciding to do them in the morning or something.
John started walking back to his room with Pochita following behind him. He went into his bedroom and started sliding into his bed while Pochita jumped to the end of the bed before laying beside John on the bed.
"You know, I'm curious if you have a dream, Pochita." John wrapped his arms around Pochita who had inched closer to him. "Maybe one day, I'll figure out what kind of dream you have."
Pochita had his eyes shut already and was snuggled into John's arm more as if agreeing to his words.
"Well, we'll find out in the future. Good night, Pochita." John shifted a bit before feeling comfortable enough and started to sleep.
Pochita slowly opened his eyes halfway to get a look at John before shutting them again. But, John, you already fulfilled my dreams.
And now, I wanna see your dream.
