Work Text:
You were aware that you and Spencer's idea of quality time was vastly different. He'd rather stay in, watching 'Doctor Who's reruns, or rereading a book that he already had memorized. You would rather go out, it didn't matter where, you were always up for an adventure. You want to go to the new bar just outside of town? You'll be ready in 30. Late night shopping trip? As long as you pay for the snacks. You were an extremely simple person, but somehow, Spencer couldn't seem to figure you out.
The best he could do was choke out a, "Do you want to go on a drive with me?" He saw the way your eyes lit up, an excite look on your face as you scrambled to put on a pair of pajama pants, searching for your zip up. Spencer smiled to himself, putting on his own comfy clothes as he grabbed your car keys. He knew you were going to want to take your jeep, riding in the car top down despite him being the one that was going to be the one driving.
He could've melted when he saw you, all bundled up and warm as you practically skipped out the door of his apartment.
The ride was nice, quiet as he drove on the deserted highway roads, one or two cars riddled between each lane, but not enough to slow you guys down. The music was playing softly in the background as you stared out the window, holding Spencer's hand in his as you breathed in the cool air. Spencer must admit that he had a hard time paying attention to the roads and not at how beautiful you looked, your face illuminated by the street lights that swept through the car through the roof.
"You're gorgeous." You heard Spencer say softly beside you. You smiled shyly, playing with his lithe fingers. "Thanks, Spence. You are too." He chuckled fondly, a smile tugging at his own lips as he focused his eyes back on the road.
