I never fell again.

Summary:

Wednesday figured after her man-eating practically ex boyfriend was sent away, she'd never have to see him again.

Nope.

The new school year at Nevermore academy unfortunately changed that. As soon as she step foot inside the school there he was, standing tall with his stupid brown curly hair and perfectly placed moles.

She wasn't thinking of him anymore.

Chapter 1: Wednesday Addams does not think of Tyler Galpin

Chapter Text

It has officially been 6 months since the incident with Tyler Galpin, or better referred to as Jericho's one and only Jekyll and Hyde.

Not that Wednesday Addams particularly cares how much time has passed since it all happened, since she doesn't think of it anymore. He wasn't worth her time.

What? She doesn't.

Any normal person would be extensively traumatized and suffering from at least PTSD from her relationship with Tyler, but Wednesday was different. She wouldn't let someone have that kind of power over her, especially not an easily manipulated Hyde. So she has decided she doesn't think about him anymore. Yes, she can make this decision apparently.

Returning to Nevermore wasn't exactly on her to-do list, she was perfectly content contacting Enid and Xavier through her new phone and being back there would bring up too many memories. None that bothered her, of course. Just nothing she felt like dealing with, and she definitely didn't feel like dealing with more people. However, unfortunately enough for Wednesday her parents insisted she create some "new, fresh memories" to add onto her old, chaotic ones. Despite her protests, her parents worry for her teen years overbid her distaste for returning back there, and so the debate was over before it even begun.

The car ride over was quiet, besides of course the disgusting sounds of kissing and flirting from her parents who were, sadly, two feet away from her. Wednesday could only grimace towards them, pulling out her phone to at least distract her from her current situation. She mindlessly begins scrolling through her photos, which mostly included happy photos of her tormenting her dear brother Pugsley over the course of this semester break. Unknowingly a small smile creeps over her lips as she remembers each moment, and each scream. The car suddenly stops, sending Wednesday to jerk forward a bit causing her smile to instantly fade. She had arrived.

"Oh, darling," her mother began, "aren't you just thrilled to be back here with all your friends?"

A stupid question really, Wednesday didn't have friends. Simply people she tolerated, and maybe enjoyed a little.

"No."

A small laugh escapes her mother and she simply sighs and exits the car, per her husbands hand already waiting for her outside to help her out. They begin walking over to greet the new principal, since of course our last one was murdered. In front of Wednesday. Did she already mention none of this bothers her? Cause it doesn't.

"Welcome, Addams," the new principal greets, "It's a pleasure to welcome you back to Nevermore,"

Wednesday still hasn't exited the car, taking her sweet precious time as she dreads the idea of being back in this inescapable prison. But what really struck her was how familiar the voice sounded, almost like.. Principal Weems was still there. She immediately climbed out, wide-eyed as she looked up at her old, dead principal. Well, supposed to be dead but here she was standing tall and breathing.

"Principal Weems, but how?" Wednesday's confusion unable to be hidden. She watched her die in the observatory by nightshade poison, there was no way this was the real Principal Weems.

"Wednesday," she smiles, "So good to have you back. I'm sure you're a little startled, given the last time we saw each other I was well.." She fades.

"Dead?" Wednesday offers.

A small, forced laugh comes from Principal Weems,
"Yes. That. Luckily enough, we have spectacular infirmary staff and they were able to extract the poison from my bloodstream before it was able to reach my heart."

To Wednesday, this seemed like an excuse very poorly structured but she chose to not to say anything. What was she to do? Complain that her principal was alive? She was relieved, even if the story behind it is sounds detrimentally fishy. Principal Weems welcomes in her parents and her, heading inside Nevermore whilst making small talk with her parents but Wednesday had already begun tuning them all out. She texted Enid a small "Here." hoping that she could come save her from this boring torture of hearing her parents "catch up" with her principal. Her phone dings as she receives an instant response, a bunch of smiley faces and a thumbs up. Another ding, there is also a unicorn now. Wednesday never really got the gist of these 'emoticons' so she never really bothered. Besides, she isn't exactly the most emotion filled girl around anyways. The blonde, mixed with vibrant hair dye colors of course, comes practically bouncing over to Wednesday with her boyfriend Ajax attached to her hip.

"Wednesday!!" She screeches across the hall, running towards her now. Ajax doesn't bother running after her and takes his time walking over, but Enid was already here. She extended her arms out and then halts, remembering Wednesday's hug rule. Her smile doesn't falter though, she's aware of how her friend is.

"Oh how I missed you, I've only been here a day but it was *forever* without you."
The girl begins, and then starts rambling about the decorations of their dorm and her relationship with Ajax. Apparently they've decided to make it official. Took them long enough. Wednesday begins looking around, seeing familiar faces but no one she is insanely hyped to see. That is, until she seems him. She wasn't sure if she was just hallucinating or if she had just completely lost all senses. But standing in front of the office stood a brown, curly haired boy with freckles placed specifically amongst his face, next to the town sheriff. It was Tyler. No doubt about it. He didn't seem particularly happy to be there, similar to her, and he pictured to be in an argument with his father per usual.

It must've been evident on Wednesday's face that something had caught her eye because Enid turns to look at whatever she is gaping and then practically eeps. "Oh, my god I forgot to tell you. He's back, Wednesday." She trails off, unsure how to continue. To be honest, after Tyler was taken away Wednesday hadn't discussed how she felt betrayed and practically heartbroken. She was embarrassed and furious that he was able to make her look like a fool. To make her look played. Enid had tried getting Wednesday to talk about it, since she knew the dark haired girl despised therapy. But it was no use. She had completely shut down the minute Tyler was locked away in that car. It was all too much, and she couldn't admit that to anyone. Not even her closest friend. Wednesday immediately wipes all hints of surprise and hurt off her face, returning to her constant mundane expression.

"I see. What is he doing here?" Wednesday asks, feigning calmness in her voice. Enid could see right through her.

"Apparently during this half a year he attended some serious therapy and learned to control his Hyde, they released him on good behavior and, well, Principal Weems wanted to be inclusive towards Hyde's starting immediately."

It made sense, Nevermore wasn't the type of school to turn down an outcast, even if said outcast was a murderous beast who relished in his killings. At least that is how Wednesday remembers it, recalling their talk in the sheriffs station. The way he looked at her with those cold eyes, relinquishing in the fact he had won. She could feel her blood boiling, and heart begin racing at the thought of him knowing he won. And now here he is, in the same school with her. All year long.

"Whatever. As long as he doesn't bother me, why should I care?" Wednesday states, practically a scoff but her attempt at hiding any annoyance was feeble. Enid simply whimpers, surprised to see Wednesday showing so much emotion. Even if the girl was painfully unaware of her emotions bleeding through at the seams.

Wednesday says her goodbyes to her parents and begins bringing her stuff up to her dormitory, Enid following close behind also helping transport said items. Wednesday was trying to think of anything besides Tyler, like the way she could play cello outside her window again or the way she had all those new books in the library to go through, but no matter what all she could think about was him. Why was he flooding her thoughts?

She doesn't think about him.

This was going to be a horrible, long year.
