Natasha Romanoff was a captivating woman, or at least to Peggy Carter she was. Every meeting they had together, Peggy’s eyes would frequently find themselves drifting to Natasha and when the redhead locked eyes with her, even for a brief moment, Peggy dropped her eyes to her hands and she knew her face would grow as red as Natasha’s hair. When this happened, she would pretend to pick at her nails and if she dared to lift her head, Natasha would raise one of her eyebrows and have a silly smile on her face.
Peggy wasn’t due to go to todays meeting, so she let herself sleep in, which was something she rarely did. When she woke up, there was a message from a number she didn’t have saved telling her to meet her on the roof at 6pm. What a strange request, she thought. It’d probably have to be someone on the team if they were requesting her to be on the roof of the avengers compound.
On her way to grab breakfast, as she was rubbing her eyes she bumped into Natasha, who was so focused on untangling some lights that her head smack banged into Peggy’s chest.
“Oh my Gosh, I am so sorry Nat. Are you okay?” The agent panicked hoping she wasn’t hurt.
“Pegs, I’m fine. I should be the one saying sorry, that was… embarrassing of me. Anyway, it was nice seeing you, but I have to run.” Natasha spoke quickly.
This confused Peggy, but she brushed it off and went about her day. A couple of hours later, after she was done with her training, she received another message.
“Wear something nice.” It read.
She was confused and a little bit afraid, but she wasn’t going to admit that. She knew, if anything were to happen, she had the skills to protect herself. She had to remind herself it was probably one of the people she knew about to play a trick on her.

Peggy was currently getting dressed, putting on a red, long sleeved red dress on with a slit down the leg, pairing it with black heels and her hair in victory rolls. Putting on some light makeup and some jewellery, she sighed, thinking she probably overdid it.
Taking the elevator to the roof, she applied some more lipstick and fixed her hair. She was incredibly nervous to meet the mystery person, even being 10 minutes early. She groaned as the elevator door opened and the cold air hit her. She stepped out, seeing lights draped around the roof of the compound, the sun only just beginning to set due to it being the start of summer, causing pinks and purples to set across her face.
The only downside was… no one was here. Or so she thought. Stepping around the elevator building was Natasha, who cleared her throat. This caused Peggy to whip her body around, eyes wide.
“Natasha! What are you doing here?!” Peggy huffed.
“Why do you think, Pegs?”
“It was you this whole time?!”
“Mhm. There’s a reason I brought you up here.”
“What is it, Natasha? I hope you didn’t make me dress up for no reason?”
“No, of course not. You look amazing by the way, red is definitely your colour.” She complimented with a smirk.
“So do you, suits are definitely your thing.” Peggy shot back, a smirk also playing on her lips. “So…”
“So… I wanted to talk first, and if the talk goes well, well… we’ll see about that.”
Peggy nodded, waiting for her to keep talking.
“Peggy, are you interested in women?” She questioned, taking a step towards the captain.
“Uh, in what way do you mean?”
“Let me ask again, are you… attracted to women?”
Peggy gulped. She’d definitely noticed that the brunette had a little crush on her. Fuck. “Um- I- I’ve never really thought about it since I came out of the ice, but I guess so, yeah.” She replied, trying to keep her voice level.
“I see how you act around me, Peggy. Unable to keep your eyes off of me. Embarrassed when I look at you the same way. Did you think I wouldn’t recognise, дорогая?”
Peggy knew bits of Russian, being around Natasha had that perk, so at this she felt herself blush.
“You like being called дорогая?” Natasha questioned, her voice low and seductive. Peggy nodded, unable to speak. Natasha’s hand snaked its way up to Peggy’s jawline, causing Peggy to stop lift her shoulder from the wall, unfold her arms and lean down towards Natasha. “May I?”
Peggy nodded.
“Words, дорогая. I need to hear that you want this.”
“Natasha shut up and kiss me, please.”
And with that, the red head planted a kiss on the brunettes slightly parted lips, who moaned quietly.
Peggy pulled back, embarrassed.
“What was that?” Natasha questioned with a grin.
“I am so sorry. I didn’t know that would happen.”
“Peggy Carter you little tease!” Natasha exclaimed, slapping Peggy’s arm, who just rolled her eyes despite not being able to control the smile on her mouth.

After a short little make out session on the roof and a quick touch up of makeup, Natasha announced they were going on a date.
“A date? You really are throwing me in at the deep end, Tash. I haven’t done any of this since… since Steve. Even then it was barely a relationship, I didn’t even get a-”
“Peggy, you’re rambling. It’s gonna be okay. Pretend we’re just friends going out for a meal and a drink or two.”
“Pretend… we’re just friends… Natasha we just made out for half an hour I don’t think I can.”
After a few moments of back and forth back chatting each other, Natasha leaned forward to peck Peggy’s lips to make her stop being stubborn before walking to one of Tony’s many fancy cars.
“Alright let’s go.” Natasha spoke, opening the door for Peggy.
“Such a gentleman.” Peggy joked, getting a chuckle and an “only for you” out of Natasha.
“I’m choosing the music.”
“Oh fuck me, Peggy. Do you have to?”
“Don’t mind if I do, darling. Now please help me connect my music through the car.” Peggy ordered with a smirk.
“Okay fine, whatever you would like to play, just type into the search bar.”
After a few moments of struggling, the first few beats to Everybody Loves a Lover by Doris Day began to play and soon after, Natasha began humming the tune.
“You know this song?” Peggy asked, and Natasha hummed in response.
“I was born in 1928, Pegs. Of course i know Doris Day.” Peggy choked at this.
“1928-“
“Yes.”
“I thought you-“
“So does everyone Pegs.”
“My God you really are full of surprises.”

After a short journey to the restaurant, both women walked in looking extremely fashionable. They spent the evening wining, dining and telling each other everything they possibly could about each other.
“Can we dance?” Peggy asked, and Natasha groaned. “Come onnnn. First date and all, we have to dance, Nat.”
“Fine, but you owe me a drink after.”
“Deal.”
The women danced for the next hour, no matter the song, and halfway into their dances everyone had their eyes on them. They twirled and lifted each other up and danced to each beat to every song, both ending in a fit of laughter and smiles, the restaurant applauding them.
“You weren’t too bad, Carter.”
“Right back at you, Romanoff.”

Driving back to the avengers compound was a quiet ride besides the faint music playing in the background.
“Peggy Carter, I think you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on in my entire life.” Natasha spoke, stopping outside of the compound.
“Nat-”
“No let me speak. I’ve been in love with you ever since I met you and I never thought that was possible. I’ve lived a lot of lives but I want to spent the rest of this life with you. I want to go to bed every night with you and wake up and see your stupidly gorgeous face every morning. I want to kiss you and hug you and dance with you and hold you when things get rough and be held by you when things get rough for me and I just need you.” Natasha spoke quickly, the words spilling out of her, like a can of spilt paint.
Peggy was speechless. Natasha felt the same way. All this time she thought it was all one sided. “I’ve made Natasha Romanoff go smitten.” Was all Peggy could think to say.
“Will you be my girlfriend, Peggy?”
“Of course I will. There’s no one else I’d rather spend my life with.”
And with that, the women kissed passionately under the pale light of the moon.
