Wild couldn’t believe this guy. Sky fell asleep again. This time standing up.
No, not sitting up or even propping his body against a wall. The man stood up straight, both feet planted on the ground, arms hanging by his side, head skewed to the right, fast asleep. His mouth was opened and a small dribble of drool cascaded down the corner of his lips.
“How?” Wild asked to nobody.
Should he wake him up? Was it wise to wake someone who slept like that? This was why Wild threw a stick at him the first time. He wasn’t sure if sky was the type to wake up gently or come out swinging. Bolson was like that. Wild shook his shoulder and the man’s first response was to grab his hammer and aim for the nearest shin.
It was probably best to leave Sky be and let him sleep a little longer. It was still fairly early, the sun barely inching above the top of the maze, leaving majority of the endless walls in shadows. Wild was only up this early to start on breakfast.
However Sky looked stupidly uncomfortable like that. If Wild really was going to traverse through this maze with him, it would be better if he didn’t have a crick in the neck while fighting bokoblins.
Also , Wild thought as he stared down at the various ingredients he gathered. There were mushrooms, eggs, bacon, and cow’s milk. I need to know if he’s allergic to anything here.
Wild sighed and got up from his cooking pot. He walked over to Sky, his mouth twisting.
He’s come across animals sleeping while standing, but a human being doing the same was unsettling. Sky looked like he’d been hanged , the sight of his neck bent at such an angle put a sour taste in Wild’s mouth.
Wild stopped in front of Sky. He carefully reached out and poked Sky in the arm. “Hey.”
Nothing. Sky continued snoring.
“Hey,” Wild tried again, this time poking him higher on the arm, near his shoulder.
Still nothing. Not even a twitch.
Finally Wild raised his hand, his middle finger curled.
“Hey!” Wild said and gave Sky a painful flick across his nose. Sky’s face wrinkled.
He suddenly lunged forward, grabbing Wild, pulling him close, crushing him against his chest. Wild gave out a yelp, immediately regretting his decision. Sky’s arms wrapped around him in a tight embrace, refusing to let go.
Wild panicked and tried to pull away. There was no give, no wiggle room. The man was like an anaconda; the harder Wild resisted, the tighter the hold became. Was Sky planning to suffocate him? Crush him with his massive arms? Was he-
A loud snore startled Wild out of his thoughts. Sky snuggled his cheek down into the top of Wild’s head, gave out a little contented sigh and continued sleeping.
Wild felt his face burn hot. “Are you freakin’ kidding me ? Hey! Hey!”
Sky responded by snuggling him closer.
“You idiot!”
He dared not raise his voice higher than that unless he wanted every monster to know their position. From the corner of his eye, he could see the plate of bacon he left on the plate getting ravaged by flies. “No!”
He raised his foot, intending to kick the shit out of Sky’s shin, and the mental image of Sky toppling on top of him had him putting it down. He scowled deeply as he saw an army of ants began their trek up the plate as well.
So that only left Wild one option: waiting till Sky woke up.
Wild’s face grew hotter as Sky gave the top of his head a little smooch. Sun rise was at least an half hour away.
