“Mmmh, I love you babe.” Lucius pressed another soft kiss to Pete’s lips, his arm looped around his shoulders.
“I love you too, babe,” Pete responded, pecking Lucius on his cheek, reaching across his chest to entangle Lucius’ fingers (wooden one inclusive) with his own.
A loud, exasperated mix between a sigh and a groan rang out from across the cabin, breaking the two of them out of their shared lover’s world. Izzy stood in the doorway, running his gloved hand down his face, clenching his jaw. His grip around his cane tightened, and he glared at the two men lying besides each other, partially undressed behind the two crates of dried food supplies which they were meant to unload and move to the galley a few hours ago.
“Would it kill the two of you to do your jobs for fucking once?” He scowled, hovering awkwardly about in the entranceway, clearly wanting to yet simultaneously afraid to move closer to the two men, just in case certain things were exposed behind the cover of the wooden crate.
The two men shared one last kiss, disentangling their limbs from each other. They were, luckily, fully clothed waist down. Izzy’s lips twitched in irritation.
Pete sat up, and Lucius promptly nestled his head into the comfortable space offered by Pete’s lap. He shifted his gaze to Izzy, the initial small smile on his face having evaporated into a concerned look. His hand still interlocked with Lucius’ own. “Calm down, Izzy, it’s not like we’re in an emergency or anything.”
“No, of course not, because if we were I wouldn’t have fucking checked in on you only hours after I gave you the simplest of tasks even the most idiotic of men would have no issue completing.” Words fell out of his mouth in rapid-fire, and Izzy paused for a moment to point a finger at the two of them when Lucius spoke up, cutting off his next sentence.
“What’s got you in a tiffy, Izzy?” He reached up, running a finger along Pete’s jaw, tracing the path his finger outlined with his eyes. “It’s the second time you’ve walked in on us. If I didn’t know better…” Lucius’ half-lidded eyes ambled disinterestedly up to meet Izzy’s stormy gaze, lip twitching up in a small smirk. “I’d think you were jealous.”
Pete’s eyebrows quirked up. He looked between Lucius and Izzy, biting back a smirk rapidly spreading across his face. On the other hand, Izzy folded his arms across his chest, exhaling sharply and glancing down at his feet, pursing his lips.
“You know, you could always join us.” He met Pete’s eyes with an earnest gaze, carrying his hand to his lips and kissing the back of his palm. In a quieter voice, he spoke, “Wouldn’t you like that, Pete?”
“‘Course, babe. The more the merrier.” His calloused palm squeezed around Lucius’ warm, soft hands. Pete leaned down, about to kiss Lucius yet again when a sudden loud bang startled them into jumping a good arm’s length apart.
A mild panic settled in their hearts as they swivelled their heads around, fearing that they’d been attacked by the Royal Navy yet again – they then realised that Izzy’s leather-clad figure was nowhere to be seen – any sign of his previous existence was only affirmed by the muffled profanity-filled grumbling they heard through the wood, until that too eventually faded out of existence.
The second their eyes met, they broke out into a fit of giggles.
