Charlotte got the children’s attention, “Everyone have their mittens on?”
Several of them waved at her to show that they did.
“Okay, when I say ‘Go!’ you each need to grab a candy cane and try to unwrap it.”
When Charlotte suggested this particular party game to her husband, Sidney doubted the children would be able to pick one up, let alone unwrap it. Naturally, they had a bet going on the outcome.
After a few minutes of struggle, Alicia held her unwrapped sweet in triumph.
Charlotte smiled triumphantly at Sidney too, now looking forward to receiving her own prize.
