Kaeya gets Shrunk

Summary:

One of Albedo's experiments goes wrong, and Kaeya gets shrunk. Those that care about him are, quite reasonably, distressed. Pressure is applied to relationships and new things are discovered.

Updates on Saturdays.

Notes:

This is my first fic. I hope I'll improve over time. I am struggling with formatting. The first two chapters are much shorter than anticipated, the others should be longer.

Chapter 1: The Incident

Kaeya thanked Sara for the food and picked up the to-go boxes. He had placed the order in the morning for him and Albedo. He kept telling himself that one day he would cook for Albedo. Today was not that day.

He was a busy man, he really didn't have time to meal prep, shop for groceries, and cook. It was easier to just buy it to go.

That and he only had one good recipe he knew how to cook. Chicken and mushroom skewers were not the most impressive meal.

Kaeya didn't want to disappoint Albedo.

He ran up the steps of the Knights quarters and made his way to Albedo's lab. Kaeya kicked the door and announced himself. "Delivery."

"Come in." Albedo answered.

Kaeya opened the door and placed the takeout boxes on the empty desk before giving Albedo a kiss on the cheek. "Hey, handsome."

"Hello, Kaeya." Albedo replied. He kept his attention on the paperwork for a little bit longer. Kaeya set up lunch while he worked.

Water glasses. Utensils. Napkins-

"Thank you for lunch." Albedo said.

"Of course." Kaeya smiled. "You're often on a big cold mountain. It isn't often our schedules allow us to have a meal together. I have to make the most of it." He pulled out a chair for Albedo. "How long before your next trip?"

"Five days." Albedo answered.

"My, my~" Kaeya purred and sat across from Albedo. "I do hope I get to spend some of that time with you."

"I am staying at your place. Though I suspect Klee will demand a sleepover at least one of those nights." Albedo offered.

"Of course Klee is welcome." Kaeya took a bite of his food. "She adores you."

Albedo smiled.

"So, care to tell me about this experiment of yours?" Kaeya asked.

Albedo smiled and began going into detail about his latest research. Kaeya donned the most lovestruck face and listened.

Albedo finished, and set his box aside.

"I suppose I should leave you to work." Kaeya got up.

Albedo got up and took his hand. "Before you leave, may I kiss you?"

Kaeya leaned in close to Albedo. "Of course." He placed his hands on Albedo's waist and pulled him close. Kaeya's heart fluttered as Albedo's hands trailed up his chest and around his shoulders. The kiss was soft and sweet. Albedo's face was flushed and he tucked his head under Kaeya's chin. "Overwhelmed?" Kaeya asked.

Albedo nodded.

Kaeya chuckled, hugged Albedo close, and kissed his head.

"I missed you too." Albedo said.

"I'll walk you back at the end of your shift." Kaeya said.

Albedo nodded and got back to work.

It was late in the afternoon when Kaeya entered Albedo's lab. He didn't know what hit him. All he heard was "Kaeya, wait-"

He was hit with a dizzying sensation, and his vision faded to black.

Kaeya did awake to Albedo fretting over him. He didn't feel well, all together lightheaded and a bit nauseous. He rubbed his good eye. Everything looked far too large.

"Kaeya. Kaeya. Kaeya I'm so sorry." Albedo refused to touch him. His hands hovered over him.

He was… huge.

Everything was huge.

Kaeya sat up and… oh.

A wave of nausea washed over him, and he tried to stand. "A-Albedo-"

Two massive hands cupped around him, each palm was just a little shorter than him. He was scooped up and held in those… Albedo's hands. They tested in his lap.

"Kaeya. I am so sorry. The experiment was acting out and it - I should have locked the door- I had a geo shield it went to the easiest target." Albedo's breath caught in his throat, "Are you okay?"

Kaeya blinked a bit. "It… shrunk me?"

"I am afraid so." Albedo replied.

"I'll be okay." Kaeya assured. "When will it wear off?"

"If it will wear off, it should by morning. If not I will get to work immediately." Albedo answered.

"Then we can go home and get some rest." Kaeya assured.

Albedo took a few deep breaths, "We probably shouldn't let people see you like this." Albedo said. "You have enemies."

That he did.

"I'm going to have to put you in my pocket." Albedo said.

"Be gentle." Kaeya said.

"I will."

Albedo slipped Kaeya into his pocket and walked out of the knights headquarters. He had a key to Kaeya's apartment and he entered without interruption. He locked the door behind him and retrieved Kaeya.

"How are you feeling?" Albedo asked.

"I feel like myself, except small. I'm a little annoyed. I had hoped for some quality time with you, since you had been gone so long. So much for that."

"Quality time?"

"Behind locked doors. In the bedroom, quality time." Kaeya explained.

Albedo used his free hand to cover the blush on his face. "Oh."

"Only if you were comfortable with it." Kaeya assured. "Doesn't matter now I suppose."

Albedo hummed. "Does it really upset you that much?"

"I'm not… upset." Kaeya protested.

"I'll stay on the couch tonight."

"What? Why?"

"Because if we sleep in your bed together it would be dangerous. Same reason it is a bad idea to share a bed with an infant. I could roll over and kill you."

"We can have a makeshift bed on my nightstand."

"If you change back you could get hurt." Albedo shook his head.

"Fine. You win. At least let me get ready for bed." Kaeya surrendered.

Albedo brought Kaeya to the bathroom. It was a tricky balance, but they managed to mostly get him ready for bed. Kaeya sat on the sink while Albedo took a shower.

"You're not going to chan- oh." Albedo stopped. "You don't have other clothes that would fit."

"It's fine." Kaeya assured. "It hopefully will only be one night."
