Chapter Text
" I love you," Ava whispered, leaving her body to be taken away by the arch.
Beatrice's arms were empty once again, her eyes filled with despair. She had let go of the only love she had known.
" I love you" Her words were muffled by her tears, empty of any response. She was late once more. The girl started to sob, breathing rapidly, as she understood what had happened for good. Beatrice had fallen hard, and Ava had fallen too late. A deadly combination for lonely souls.
"Beatrice," Lilith's voice echoed in the empty room, rocking the ears of the broken girl. She moved closer to Bea, scared of rejection. " You need to go." Lilith offered her hand to Bea, and with a bit of hesitation, Beatrice took her help.
" Thank you." Her voice trembled, it would ache for anyone to hear the muted screams her soul let out through that cracking voice.
" You did what you had to do. There is a holy war coming." Empathy was written on Lilith's face as she saw how ruined Bea was. " I really hope we end up on the same side" Lilith didn't wait for a response, she spread her wings, and made her way away from the girl, flying up.
Leaving Beatrice alone. She let her body take her down to her knees, sobs taking her breath away. Covering her mouth, not wanting to make a noise. She was shattered, dead but alive. Without the only reason to fight for.
"Beatrice!" Camila's call echoed around the cold room." What happened?" When she saw the state Bea as she ran to the girl, falling to her knees too. Camila gazed at Bea's face, tears forming in her eyes, as the realization was slowly hitting her. " Bea, please," she whispered.
" She's gone!" Beatrice confessed, bursting into more tears. Camila wrapped her arms around the girl holding her closer to her. A fog of despair had fallen upon the girls.
...
Meanwhile, on the other side, screams of despair filled the emptiness of the desert. Ava lay in agony holding tight to her body out of pain, as tears covered her bruised face. Her body, soul, and heart ached. But not much after, the pain suddenly was washed away from her body, her scars healed, her mind at peace. She looked as if her body was healing itself. She could move her legs again. A sudden wind started, making the sand blind the girl. A figure she was well known with by now appeared slowly in front of her.
" Wellcome, my child," Reya said softly, leaning a hand for Ava to take. The girl hesitated in the beginning, but something in her wanted to take that hand. So to prove she was real.
" Thank you," Ava mumbled softly as she stood straight, side by side with Reya.
" Come my child." Raya put a hand behind Ava's back, where the halo was, making it shine bright under her touch. She led the road. A road with nothing, in the end, just an infinity desert.
Suddenly, a golden castle lay in front of them. So bright it almost blinded Ava's eyes.
"Wow" That was all that could escape from the girl's lips, while Raya was unfazed by her surprising response.
...
Mother-superior and Jillian were impatiently, anxiously waiting by the door. In hopes to see their children soon. But when they heard the ven get closer to them, their heart dropped. Stomachs in a twirl, their souls uneasy, worried. As they could have known what that van was bringing, a shadow of pain. The big door opened, and the van was parked inside. Mother-superior was the one to walk closer to the van but froze when the door opened.
The number was not right, there were two missing and their faces reflected what had happened.
Jillian ran to the van, her eyes scanning it so as to find Michale. She swallowed hard, understanding the sudden frize of mother-superior. She let out a scream of agony, trembling.
" No, no," hooking her head violently, not accepting what had happened " No!" her screams scratching the souls of all, drowning them more in blood. " Where is he?!" a question not dared to be answered. She burst into more tears, falling down to her knees, holding tight to Mother-superior's gown.
" Wh-where is Ava?" a fainted question, in a shaking painful, fearful voice of Mother-superior. Her gaze fell onto Beatrice. " Be-Beatrice," the girl flared into tears. " No," a shattered 'no' left Mother superior's lips. "No, no! My daughter, "holding her chest, falling to her knees side by side with Jillian. Crying in a symphony of pain with the other.
A veil of death, falling on two childless mothers...
