Chapter Text
I was a normal man, living in a small town far from the city. Me and my parents has always been living in the town since birth.
When they passed away, I started working as a farmer, to continue the family business and started selling food to the local supermarket.
I was devastated about my parents' passing but I got over it. I still miss them from time to time tho... I like my new farmer life, simple, predictable, and quiet. I never wanted it to change. I never did.
"Another harvest, another day!" Exclaims Lucian as he grabs his farming tools and goes to his farm for a harvest. He sees the sunrise and breaths in the fresh air
"Ahh, such a lovely sunrise." It was 6am, his favorite time of the day. Lucian says "Time to harvest."
As he goes downstairs, he sees the picture of him and his parents that is hanged on the wall. It's pretty big so he could never miss it. He turns to the picture on the wall "Hey, mom and dad!" he says before preparing the tools needed for today.
He plucks out the carrots, tomatos, and corn for a request from the supermarket. This has been my schedule ever since I became a farmer. Wake up, say hi to my parents, harvest some plants, sell them to the supermarket, plant some new plants and go to bed. I like it this way, I could never see it change.
As I finished the harvest, I picked up all the baskets of carrots, potatos, and corn all the way back to my house. It felt great but is it just me or is something wrong?
Like, something doesn't feel quite right but you don't know what it is? I'm not sure... "Wait a minute, I picked tomatoes, not potatoes, did I?" Something I just realized when I took a good look on the basket I was holding. I remember picking tomatoes??
Something else got my attention "Wait, that's... odd. I was sure the baskets I brought was red, not blue."
My spade appeared beside it despite leaving it in his shed. The backround of the picture I have of me and my parents was changing to that of the town to a city.
The vegetables changed from carrots, tomatoes, and corn to potatos, cucumber, and lettuce.
Soon, everything else started changing as well. Even my house. I started to feel overwhelmed with this.
"WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON-" he shouted. It spreaded to his farm, the sky, and even the whole town. He dropped the basket he was holding and decided to check what was happening to the rest of the town.
Lucian ran all over town, seeing that everything is constantly changing, but it started to duplicate things as well. It would only appear in a split second.
The buildings, the trees, even people are seen fading in and out of existence. Lucian couldn't process it at all, "Is this the end of the world?..." he thought.
And there, I turned around, hoping to get away from everything, when suddenly I was met by a stranger. The stranger looks similar like me, too similar in fact.
He was in clothes that made him look like he was from the city. He is wearing a colorful jacket with a black shirt underneath. He is also wearing black jogging pants. The clothes look like they are expensive.
They were shocked to see eachother as they never thought to be facing a person who looks exactly like them.
Lucian brought out his slightly shaking hand "N-nice to meet you.. what's your name?"
"Lucian" The other guy responded, tho he seems hesitant.
My eyes went wide open when I heard his name. He looked exactly like me, and has the same name... what is happening right now?? I shook his hand and immediately let go as soon as we were done shaking it out.
He looked at me, looking concerned. "Uhhh, what's your name I guess I mean.." I didn't want to say it, heck I almost didn't! but I got the courage, which was all of it at this point, and told him my name. "Lucian, that is my name."
He probably looked as shocked as I am when he told me his name. "What..." The other Lucian said. After that, we just stared at eachother.
Not comprehending what is happening right at this moment. We don't know what's next, and we are scared to know what will.
