Work Text:
– You didn't think that your little band hobby from high school would actually take you somewhere.
– Your classmate Robin had encouraged you into starting it with some of your friends, and now here you were, actually having some fans.
– Robin attended every gig she possibly could, and you sometimes invited her into stage and told people that she's the reason why you made the band in the first place.
– Everyone started cheering at her and shouting "we love you Robin!"
– She was blushing so hard that she was sure everyone saw her glowing face and people would start laughing.
– Though your audience probably thought she's blushing because she's flattered to see so many people cheering at her.
– Not because they'd somehow realise her heart races like crazy in tune with the bass as you hold her hand.
– She hangs out with your band a lot and kinda acts as your "second manager", providing suggestions and advice if you need ideas for next gig places or plan a new album cover.
– You also invite her to act in some of your music videos.
– She's reluctant at first because in the first song, she's only told lyrics tell about love.
– And she thinks you'll sing in the background as she's supposed to act with some guy.
– But instead, the lyrics go like
– Will you ever love me back? / As who I am / Not the way I'm seen on stage, in lights / But as what I really am / A woman with a soul of fire and dark / I've loved her for years / And I wish nothing will ever keep us apart
– And you're singing them in front of her.
– And as the song ends, you give her a rose.
– She's completely frozen standing there.
– Almost doesn't believe it.
– You basically told her about your feelings through the song.
– You didn't begin to date just there, but everyone in the band knows by then how in love you are with each other.
