Diamonds for You

Summary:

Spock's perspective on the holiday gift-shopping put into several stanzas of a kitchy poem (I couldn't help myself 😆).

Dreamsaremadeofthis, I know you wanted a story - and a sequel - and instead you're getting a poem - which isn't a sequel - but... all complaints are to be discussed directly with my Muse. (No, I don't know where she can be found, I've been searching for her too 😆)

Notes:

Prompt:

Let it glow!!! ✨ I would love to see your artwork or writing featuring Kirk and Spock and things that sparkle and shine during the holiday season. I just adore the magic of things that sparkle! Candles, tinsel, sequins and glitter (lingerie?? ;), the warm glow of a fire, Christmas lights, fireworks, whatever festive thing you can think of that sparkles or glows is fair game to include in your work. Heck, even a photo of a sparkly K/S ornament you’ve made…!!! The more the merrier, it would be so fun to see your creative ideas of K/S plus sparkles and light to brighten up the month of December.

Any Kirk and Spock from any universe, and any rating from sweet to sexy(!!), would be most welcome.

Work Text:

Your beauty shines like a diamond
But few people know your true worth
Your courage is often called folly
But it has once saved the Earth

To love you seems logical
And each day my feelings grow
But after how I once hurt you
I wonder if you even know

I have covered your body with kisses
I have bared my soul to you
But there is still doubt in your heart
You fear that my love is not true

A gift cannot prove my feelings
Of the past it cannot change a thing
But I want to spoil you with diamonds
To make you feel like a king

Your gorgeous body deserves
To be seen in the most precious frame
And the jewel's shine would reflect
My devotion my love and my claim

I would gladly pay a fortune
To honor you and atone
But I do not wish you embarrassed
Because of a simple stone

Diamonds are wanted and priceless
And as long as planets they last
But despite their brilliance and beauty
They are nothing but specks of dust

Our hunger for beauty is endless
But dead stones this desire can't meet
The flesh may be perishable
But death makes the brief joining so sweet

You don't need diamonds my love
Your warmth outshines their cold art
And the stars themselves are shamed
By the pure radiance of your heart
