Work Text:

It was a regular Friday, yet unlike no other for the celestial twins. Sun and Moon. These two are finally separated, after almost five years of being trapped together. They're finally free.

It was a busy day, and it was almost time for nap time, when Moon turned to Sun, tapping him on the shoulder, "Hey, Sun, I'm going to go and fly around, get used to my body", he explained.

Sun nodded, "Oh, of course brother!", he responded. This in turn had Sun running around as kids refused to go to sleep. There was a reason why Sun took care of them during the day hours.

Moon was always able to make the kids sleep, usually since they were scared as shit of him. Sun on the other hand was easy to get by, at least during nap time.

Sun was getting frustrated, though he wasn't going to lose it, but suddenly, everything changed for him.

He blinked. He just blinked. And suddenly it was just red. Blood everywhere. On the walls, floors, and even the play area.

The place was small at the time, sure, but it was a damn mess. Moon soon then came back due to hearing screams, as it was flying across the Pizzaplex beforehand, when he froze, seeing what Sun had seen.

What the fuck? That's what either of them would've thought, and Sun couldn't process this. Did he do this? What is he going to do? He was visibly shaking.

Moon kept thinking, not knowing what was in front of him, if Sun did it, everything. How was it able to know?

"Sun, what happened?", it asked, a raspier tone in his voice, with Sun suddenly turning to him, a shocked and frozen state planted on his face.

"I-...", he couldn't speak. Sun was speechless, he was barely able to move unless Moon caught his attention. He ran through every scenario. He didn't know how any of it happened.

Moon stood there, watching him and realizing he was unable to say anything, it decided to take action. Moon grabbed Sun's arm as gently as he could, moving him as it began to speak to him.

"Sun, take a deep breath, and tell me what happened", he stated, trying to be firm and make sure Sun was in the moment, or stayed in it.

Sun looked at him, still shocked, "I… It wasn't me..", he said, clearly shaken, his voice shaking as well as he looked everywhere.

Sun sat down, unable to process any of this as Moon watched, cursing under its breath as he began to quickly clean up before the parents would show up. Though it seemed like they wouldn't have to worry about that.

Workers flooded the area, hearing screams from the place earlier before, finding the traumatizing sight. Everyone would go back and forth, locking the place up. Sun himself going to the corner.

Moon looked over, finding its brother nowhere, and decided to look for him, before he found him, sitting in the corner, looking at his hands. It decided to go up to him.

He went to tap Sun's shoulder, before Sun snapped his head towards him in surprise, clearly still shaken up from seeing the sight he saw.

Moon wanted so bad to speak to him, but Sun couldn't stop how he felt, it was so much, and he couldn't do anything to help it right now.

All they could both, however, stay together as much as they could. Moon sat next to its brother, not saying a word, and yet his mind kept racing as he sat.

What the fuck happened?

Notes:

605 words- Not amazing, but Ig short works are a thing of mine. I didn't have enough of a push for this, but I hope you enjoyed anyways!
