Reimu smiled, the sun’s rays shining down on the shrine. She stretched out her arms and closed her eyes, letting the warmth of the day embrace her. It was a perfect day for her to take care of her shrine and make sure it was in perfect condition. After a few moments of relaxation, she sighed and stood up, ready to start her day.
She picked up her broom and began sweeping the grounds, making sure the dust didn't accumulate too much. After she was satisfied, she went back inside and started cleaning the interior of the shrine. She was diligent in her work, making sure every corner was neat and tidy. She took her time, taking special care with the artifacts and decorations that were inside.
She stepped back, looking at her work with pride. She was content that the shrine was in good order and ready for the day. Reimu stepped out of the shrine and glanced up at the clear sky. She slowly walked towards the main gate and opened it, ready to greet any visitors that may be coming her way.
She rubbed her hands together, eager to see what the day would bring. Reimu was always excited to greet new visitors and help them in any way she could. It was her passion to make sure that everyone who came to the shrine had an amazing experience. She smiled as she imagined the different kinds of people that she might meet today.
Her smile grew wide when she saw someone walking up to the shrine, a girl with long hair and….horns.
Reimu frowned when she realized who it actually was.
Her frown deepened when she saw the visitor’s face. It was Suika, a Oni that Reimu had had trouble with in the past. In spite of her apprehension, Reimu still had the duty to welcome visitors to the shrine and she squared her shoulders, resolved to do her best. She put on a polite smile and stepped forward, greeting Suika with a friendly bow.
Suika grinned excitably and waved back at her with all the vigor of a happy child, seemingly unfazed by the fact that Reimu was unhappy to see her.
Reimu grimaced internally. She knew that her day was going to be anything but peaceful. Despite this, she knew that it was still her job to be hospitable and welcome the Oni with open arms.
