Work Text:
Intak finds himself in a predicament every time he clocks in for work at Scoops. The predicament being he can’t stop glancing at the clock, counting the minutes until his shift is over.
It’s not that Intak doesn’t like his part time job, there’s just not a lot of customers to keep him busy. He’d rather spend his time doing other things -- he’s a student at Seoul National University, so he has a lot on his plate. Sometimes he wonders why he even bothers working this job.
Besides the boredom, the shifts really aren’t that unbearable. He works closing shifts at a self-serve frozen yogurt place so there’s not much labor in this kind of job. He works alone and closes the shop up at the end of the night. That means he’s in charge of cleaning, mopping, changing the garbages, and so on. All the fun stuff.
He swears he almost dozes off in his chair when something, or rather someone, catches his attention out of the corner of his eye.
There is a man walking up to the door and Intak’s body straightens, ready to greet the customer. However, just then, the man comes to a stop outside the entrance, opens his backpack, and pulls out a short stack of papers.
Intak tilts his head, confused.
It isn’t until the strange person outside kicks their backpack out of their way and starts to line up paper on the glass door that Intak realizes what’s going on. He springs up from his chair and runs for the door.
“Hey, you can’t solicit fliers there!” Intak shouts. The man jumps at his sudden burst of rage, tripping over his backpack and falling on his bottom.
Intak’s eyes soften. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! Are you okay?”
The man is almost shaking in fear, his fliers held tightly to his chest. “Uh.. it’s okay! Sorry, I should have asked first,” he says, his face turning red.
Intak offers a hand and helps him up, smiling awkwardly. “Sorry for scaring you. What are these fliers for anyways?”
“Oh! My club— well it’s not my club, it’s a club at my university! The Visual Arts club at SNU is hosting a student gallery next Friday on campus. I was told to hang up fliers around the city and spread the word!” The man rambles.
Intak nods in understanding, the mention of ‘SNU’ standing out to him.
“Huh,” Intak tuts. “I’ve never seen you on campus before.”
The man’s eyes nearly bulge out of his head. “You go to SNU too?”
“Yeah, I’m a second year student,” Intak laughs. “I’m all for supporting SNU clubs, you can hang up your fliers.”
“Wow!” The man grins brightly, practically vibrating with excitement. “T-thank you so much!”
He watches the student happily hang up two flyers side by side next to each other before throwing his remaining flyers back into his backpack, giving Intak a quick bow, before running off.
And with that, Intak walks back into the ice cream shop and sits at his chair behind the counter. He laughs to himself, thinking about the strange altercation he just found himself in.
♡
When Intak arrives back to his dorm, he’s reminded of how much homework he has. He also realizes how exhausted he is, his eyelids feeling heavy.
Being a psychology major, he always has a lot of reading to do and tonight was no exception. The first thing he does is wash up, hoping the cold water from the shower will wake him up so he can finish his school work - and fortunately, it does.
He puts his completed school work on his desk and turns off his table light, falling asleep almost immediately when his head hits the pillow.
♡
It’s not even 24 hours later and Intak finds himself back at Scoops, working his usual evening shift.
Today is Tuesday so there’s a bit more customers tonight as opposed to the Monday shift he works. He’s grateful for the busy work, but he’s even more thankful when the customers leave and he has the shop to himself.
He’s in the midst of wiping down the counter when he hears the jingle of bells, signaling that someone just walked in. He picks his head up, ready to greet the new customer.
“Hello! Welcome to-”
Intak halts his words as he’s met with the timid smile of the same man who hung up the flyers yesterday. He’s walked through the entrance of the shop but is just standing there, clutching a heavy textbook to his chest.
“Oh hey,” Intak smiles affectionately. “Back to hang more flyers?” he teases.
The man stands there for a second before quickly shaking his head. “No! I hung them all up yesterday,” he explains.
“I was kidding,” Intak chuckles. “Help yourself, the cups are against the wall over there.” Intak points to the cups and continues his deed at hand.
The man is silent for a second before finally saying in a small voice, “Actually, I wanted to sample a flavor,” he admits.
Intak picks his head up, surprised. “Oh! Of course,” he stops what he’s doing and grabs a sample cup from the cabinet and hands it to him.
Intak feels the need to speak, finding the silence killing him. Besides the sound of the student’s plastic keychains on his backpack and the low volume of contemporary music played throughout the shop, neither of them dare speak a word.
“So uh.. are you an art student too?” the student speaks up, avoiding Intak’s eyes.
“Nah,” he responds, tossing the rag into the sink. “Psychology student.”
“Oh that’s fun!” the man smiles. “Hey, are you doing anything next Friday night?”
Intak feels his face flush, the heat spreading to his ears. He’s flustered, unsure of what to say. It’s only then that he remembers the art show.
“For the art show! The visual arts show,” Intak shakes his head. “Yeah, I should be free. Friday is my day off every week.”
The students' eyes light up and Intak can’t help the warmth that spreads across his chest. “Please come support the visual art students! We all worked so hard for this exhibit.”
The student finally makes his way over to the ice cream machines and pulls the handle on the strawberry ice cream. He brings it to his mouth, smiling in delight. He licks his lips and savors the taste.
“I’ll see what I have planned next week,” Intak answers and he genuinely means it. He would really like to go to the exhibit, but it all depends on his schedule and how much free time he will have.
The student nods in understanding and makes his way back to the entrance. “Okay, bye!” he calls, walking out of the door.
Intak is once again left dumbfounded. ‘What a strange kid’, he thinks to himself. He finishes his cleaning duties before eventually closing the shop.
♡
It’s 9:30am the next day and Intak can’t seem to focus in his Child Psychology class. Not only is this class too early for his liking, but it’s also on the other side of campus. He was fortunate enough to grab something from the cafeteria before he made his way to class.
All he can think about is how badly he wants to crawl back into bed, almost dreaming about the sleep he’s going to get as soon as this class is over. In the midst of his longing, his mind drifts to the art student who visited the ice cream shop last night.
Yesterday had been the second time he met him, coming all the way to Scoops on free will. Intak wonders what his name is and if he’ll ever be able to find out. Perhaps he can ask him at the art show next Friday.
All he knows about this guy is that he attends SNU, is an art student, and appears to be rather.. clumsy? Intak has also definitely picked up that this student is nervous, the way he rambles, hesitated to enter the ice cream shop, and at times didn’t want to make eye contact with him.
He’s pulled out of his thoughts at the sound of the bell, signaling class is over. He gathers his things and is on his merry way, nodding politely to his professor on the way out.
Intak reaches into his backpack and pulls out the bun he bought this morning. It’s still warm and he joyfully relishes in it, holding his cold hands against the paper it’s wrapped around. It’s December now, so the weather is starting to get colder.
‘Maybe I’ll buy some gloves later. I also need some proper snow boots,’ Intak thinks to himself. He mentally plans the off-campus trip to do such things, possibly going on a Friday.
Initially Intak had wanted to go straight to his dorm and take a nap before his shift tonight, but now that he’s outside he can’t deny how nice it is. Although it’s a bit chilly, the sun is shining bright. It’s also nice for him just to be outside in the daytime; he’s used to going to class and going to work, all things that take place inside buildings.
His legs carry him all over campus. He’s seeing things he’s never seen before -- a heart-shaped fountain, a gazebo, an open field, heck, even a school club is hosting a bake sale! Intak feels sad for a moment, regretting never taking the time to properly venture out onto his campus. It really is such a beautiful school.
The sight of art murals catches his eyes. Along the tall buildings Intak can see colorful portraits and words painted into the bricks. He can’t quite make out what the words say from his distance, but the large painted faces are clear. There’s also flowers and other nature themes portrayed in it.
“This is beautiful!”
Intak can’t help but to voice his thoughts out loud, completely breath taken by the artistry. He walks a bit faster, the excitement of seeing the artwork up close taking over his body, until he’s half-jogging. He reaches for the phone in his pocket, and in the process of doing so, he feels his body collide with someone.
His phone falls on the concrete and in front of him is the student from the ice scream shop, now fallen over on the pavement. Intak is rendered momentarily speechless.
“Oh my God!” he cries. “I’m so sorry, are you okay?”
The guy sitting on the floor just smiles up at him, and then to the people around him. Intak hadn’t even registered that this student was walking with his friends.
“I’m fine!” he smiles brightly. Intak offers him a hand which he graciously accepts and Intak has dèjá vu.
“I saw that mural over there and I got so excited. It’s so beautiful!” Intak explains, feeling the heat rush to his cheeks.
“It is beautiful, isn’t it?” the student gleams. “It was actually painted last semester by the Visual Arts club!”
Intak is gobsmacked. “You painted that?”
“Well, not just me,” the student admits, gesturing his hands to the people standing next to him. “These are the other members of the art club! It was a group effort.”
Intak bows to the other students, feeling a bit awkward and out of place all of a sudden.
“Guys, this is my friend…” the student pauses, catching Intak’s eye. “What was your name by the way?”
“My name is Intak.”
“My friend Intak!” he exclaims. “I met him at Scoops, that ice cream shop off campus.”
His friends smile in understanding, some nodding politely back at Intak.
‘My friend Intak,’ Intak repeats in his head, warmth spreading across his chest.
“If you enjoy the mural so much then just wait until you come to the art exhibit next week! I think you’ll really like it. It showcases artwork from everyone in the Visual Arts club, as well as submitted pieces from other peers taking art classes,” the student explains.
Intak nods. He’s so shocked to see the student on campus for the first time that he almost tunes out his words. At that moment Intak realizes that he’s in the art department, somewhere he has never been before, but is so happy to be in this destination.
He also notices how much calmer the student appears in the comfort of his friends, and also in his own environment. He almost carries this sort of confidence.
“Hello? Intak, you in there?” the student waves a hand in front of his face, giggling. Intak mentally facepalms.
“Oh, yeah sorry! The art show, I will try my best to be there,” he apologizes. Intak’s eyes fall to the floor and it’s only then he realizes his phone is still on the ground.
He picks it up and checks the time, surprised at how much time has passed. “Oh shoot, I have to go! It was great seeing you,” Intak gasps. All of the students bow at him once more and he is running back in the direction he came walking from.
♡
“That will be ₩10,000.”
Intak is back at his evening ice cream job, charging self-serve ice creams and cleaning toilets. This job felt kind of like a routine for him, nothing out of the ordinary ever happening. Well, except for the recent case with this art student.
He takes the cash and hands the customer their receipt, sending them on their merry way. Tonight is Wednesday night, and as usual, the later in the week, the more customers there are. And as per usual, Intak is happy to keep busy.
The majority of his shift goes by fast, thanks to the busyness of the shop, and Intak is now left to clean up after the wave of customers emptied out. He spies empty cups on the tables, ice cream pooled in the leakage holders, and used napkins on the floor.
“Gross,” he thinks to himself, internally rolling his eyes. He grabs the cleaning spray and a warm, wet rag from the sink and gets to work.
Just then the door of the shop opens, Intak hearing the entrance bells chime. He turns to bow at the customer and is shocked to see the art student. Again.
He walks into the shop, breathing heavy and hunched over, his hands on his knees. Intak is taken aback.
“What an entrance,” he teases, giving him a small wave.
“Are you still open?” the student gasps, breathless. “I was gonna call and check the hours but I forgot.”
“Did you run all of the way here?” Intak asks incredulously, ignoring his question. He’s speechless for a moment -- this was a common occurrence with this student it seemed.
The student doesn’t answer his question either, sliding his book bag off of his back and onto the floor. “Can I have a sample cup?”
Intak almost laughs out loud. He can’t believe what’s going on, this whole situation feeling unreal.
“Uh, sure..” he puts down his cleaning supplies and walks behind the counter, fetching him a cup.
“I never caught your name,” Intak blurts out and he can see the students’ eyes widen a bit.
“Oh! My name is Jiung.”
‘Jiung,’ the name echoes in Intak’s head. ‘Pretty.’
“Nice to see you again, Jiung,” Intak smiles. It felt so nice to finally say his name out loud. The student smiles in response, taking the cup finally. Intak gets back to cleaning.
“There’s so much on campus I’ve never seen before,” Intak voices. Jiung looks up, startled out of the silence.
“Yeah,” Jiung says, looking up at Intak. “SNU is so lovely. Is that why you were at the art department today?” he smirks.
Intak feels his cheeks burn. “I was just walking around campus to get some fresh air after class.”
More silence.
“Maybe you can show me around the Psychology department sometime.”
Intak nearly stops breathing at the request. More than anything he’s surprised the seemingly anxious guy he met two days ago is asking such bold questions.
“Uh, yeah. Sure! It’s not as nice as what I saw earlier in the art department though,” he laughs. He peeks at Jiung who is already looking at him, making the latter look away hastily.
Jiung laughs nervously and walks to the ice cream machines, filling his cup with vanilla bean. Intak goes back to his duties and the shop is filled with silence once more.
Jiung fills his cup again with ice cream, tastes it, and then disposes of his cup and gathers his belongings.
“It’s getting late, I’m going to head out!” Jiung calls and Intak waves.
“Have a good night! Get back safe,” Intak beams.
It isn’t until long after Jiung leaves that Intak is hit with the realization that Jiung never actually buys ice cream from the shop. He’s made it a routine of coming in, asking for a sample cup, making small talk, taste testing some ice cream, and leaving shortly after.
This realization only makes this whole situation even more confusing. Intak promises himself if he ever sees him again that he’ll ask him about it.
♡
Intak wakes up the next morning with a headache. His body is aching and the last thing he wants to do is get out of bed, but he has class in an hour.
He figures his headache comes from lack of water so he pulls himself a tall glass, and takes some Ibuprofen just in case. He’s extra kind to himself this morning and decides to make breakfast in his dorm room.
Intak enjoys his breakfast but can’t stop thinking about Jiung. He feels flattered that he comes all the way off campus just to visit him at work, but he doesn’t understand why. What he does know is that if Jiung comes to the shop tonight, which he feels like he might, he needs to start asking some serious questions.
♡
Intak’s instincts are confirmed and Jiung stops by the shop for the fourth day in a row.
It’s the usual routine -- Jiung comes at the end of the night and does everything he has been doing the past few days. Through Intak’s curiosity, he can’t help but feel frustrated.
“Why do you come to Scoops and never buy anything?”
Jiung’s face flushes and he breaks the eye contact he was holding with Intak.
“Does me coming here bother you?” he says in a small voice.
“No, it’s just… I don’t get it. We only met for the first time four days ago, and you have come in here every single day since and you just- you just sample the ice cream!” Intak says, exasperated.
Jiung fiddles with his thumbs, unsure of what to say. Intak takes it as an opportunity to keep going.
“And then you just leave! You don’t even buy any ice cream. You come all the way to Scoops, an ice cream place off campus, just to sample ice cream,” Intak sighs. Voicing the actions out loud sounds so bizarre to him.
Jiung still doesn’t say anything, but tightens the straps on his book bag. Intak swears he sees tears fill his eyes before he turns around and walks out of the shop.
No matter how frustrated Intak is, he’s not heartless. He could see the sadness apparent on his face and regret washes over him.
‘Was that too harsh?’ he thinks to himself. ‘Was that unwarranted?’
He finishes closing up the shop without saying another word.
♡
Intak is always so grateful for Fridays because not only does he have off from work, but he also has no classes today. He takes advantage of these things and doesn’t set an alarm, his body waking up naturally around noon.
Today he plans to dedicate the day to catching up on school work, which he plans to start as soon as he’s done washing up.
He doesn’t get far into his textbook reading before his mind starts to drift onto other things. More specifically, what happened last night at Scoops.
Maybe he was too harsh to Jiung. Perhaps he could have gone about confronting him differently. All of his reasoning is cut short when he remembers he doesn’t actually know Jiung that well. Maybe Jiung has been trying to get close to him? It’s not like Intak hasn’t wanted that either. The guilt finds its way back to him.
Intak finishes the chapter he’s reading and closes the book on his desk and walks over to his bed, flopping face first into his pillow.
♡
Intak continues to work his shifts at Scoops and much to his expectations, Jiung never comes in again.
He wants to see Jiung to apologize, but above that, he wants the answers to the questions he asked him the last night they were together. He doesn’t have Jiung’s number or his social media; Intak has thought about taking the walk to the art department but he has struggled to find the time. That or he makes every excuse not to.
He figures that with the art exhibit tomorrow night, he’ll finally have the chance to speak to Jiung. He’s already planned the whole thing out in his head -- the first thing he knows he has to do is apologize.
Although he won’t deny he was initially frustrated with Jiung, he will honestly admit that the shifts at work have been feeling empty without his presence.
♡
Tonight is the night of the exhibit and Intak’s nerves are extremely high. It doesn’t help that he doesn’t know where the exhibit is, what time it starts, or anyone who is going to be there; aside from Jiung of course.
He decides to take it easy today, only leaving his dorm twice. Once to ask around on campus about the information of the show tonight and a second time to get food from the cafeteria. He discovered that the art exhibit starts at 6pm and it’s in Yeseul Hall.
He’s not really sure what to wear to an event like this. He knows it’s just a show on campus, but something inside is telling him to dress up a bit. After much thought, he decides on one of his nice polos and khaki pants, paired with the dress shoes he keeps in the back of his closet in case of emergency events. Something like today for instance.
The closer the time gets to 6pm the more Intak begins to doubt even going at all. He’s beyond nervous, but on top of that, he’s feeling unsure if Jiung would even desire his presence after the way he shouted at him. Would he even get the chance to see Jiung tonight?
Intak decides to catch up on his textbook reading to pass the time.
♡
Intak elected he didn’t want to be early to the event, nor did he want to arrive right at 6pm. He decided to leave his dorm at five to 6:00 because there would be more people and the event would have already started.
He makes the trek back to the art department, catching sight of all of the scenery he passed the first time he ventured to this part of campus. Except this time it was night, but the beauty still held up.
By the time Intak arrives at Yeseul Hall, there’s a small line of people trailing outside of the building. He smiles to himself, his instincts ringing true. He buys a discounted ticket after showing the ticket salesman his student ID and makes his way inside.
There’s a lobby area when you first walk through the entrance. Chairs are set up for people to sit and refreshments are available in the corner of the room. Intak walks through the lobby and into the art exhibit.
Upon walking inside the art show, he immediately feels out of place. He’s surrounded by students who are wearing jeans and low cut shirts -- some students even wearing sweatpants! He stands in place awkwardly, feeling several eyes staring at him.
He takes a deep breath and with a small smile, he walks further into the gallery.
In the center of the exhibit is a digital projection displayed on the wall. It looks somewhat of an animation that is playing on a continuous loop. He’s next drawn to the paintings, colorful and detailed works of art that line the walls. There’s also collage pieces and sculptures on display, a lovely 3D element to the otherwise 2D majority of work presented.
Around him people are enjoying refreshments, taking pictures, and laughing with their friends. He assumes amongst the array of people that at least some of the artists must be present and are representing their work. He steps closer to the name plates but he doesn’t know any of these students so it doesn’t offer any help.
Albeit coming here by himself, he tries his best to enjoy his time. He even snaps a few of his own pictures, picking his favorite ones in the room.
However, everything is just a distraction. Intak knows the main reason he came here tonight, and he doesn’t want to leave before he finds Jiung. The gallery isn’t that large -- it’s three rooms connected by a long hallway. There’s no way he could have missed Jiung.
He decides to wait it out, killing time by mindlessly scrolling through his phone. He’s standing in the corner of one of the rooms by himself and he can’t help feeling out of place once again.
He takes a walk around all of the rooms, looking at the art once more, before walking mindlessly to the lobby. He takes a seat at a bench, holding his head in his hands.
‘I shouldn’t have come,’ he thinks to himself. Intak feels so defeated. No matter how much he was doubting coming here tonight, he can’t deny that he has been looking forward to this as soon as Jiung invited him to come. How much he misses Jiung.
He hears him before he sees him. Intak’s head shoots up at the sound of Jiung’s voice -- he’s standing by the paintings, surrounded by three or four people. He looks to the art behind him and then back at the people, almost like he’s giving a tour.
Intak immediately stands up and walks towards him. He’s polite enough to wait until Jiung is done speaking to come closer to him, and as soon as he does, their eyes lock.
Jiung bursts into laughter. It takes Intak by surprise; he’s totally confused. He glances around to see what could possibly be so comical, only to see no one else in the vicinity.
“What?” Intak asks, feeling even more self conscious than before.
“What are you wearing?”
Intak feels his face flush and he breaks eye contact, looking at the floor. Jiung steps closer.
“No, I mean you look great! I just wasn’t expecting--” he waves his hands up and down. “--all of this! I’m kind of shocked you even keep clothes this nice in your dorm room.”
A smile spreads to Intak’s lips and he mouths a small ‘thank you’. He doesn’t want to forget why he came here.
“Jiung, I’m so sorry,” he starts, looking him straight in the eyes. Jiung’s smile fades.
“I’m so sorry for the way I blew up on you, you didn’t deserve that. I should have assessed the situation in a kinder way, I was just really frustrated. I’m actually still confused.
Why aren’t you mad at me for how I spoke to you? If I were you I would--” Intak babbles, speaking as fast as lightning.
“Intak, slow down.”
Jiung places his arms on both of Intak’s shoulders, giving them both a little comforting squeeze. “I’m the one who should be apologizing. I’m the one who came into your workplace on multiple occasions for seemingly no reason.”
Intak is ready to protest but Jiung is quick to continue.
“There’s a reason I went to Scoops so many times, I promise. Can I show you something?” Jiung smiles.
Intak can’t help but feel his heart swell a bit at Jiung’s reassuring smile. It’s so bright and warm, and Intak thinks it’s the most beautiful smile he has ever seen. Perhaps Jiung is the most beautiful person he has ever seen.
“Okay..” Intak grins shyly. He lets Jiung lead the way into the room on the left, following close behind him until they’re standing in front of a large canvas, covered in a black curtain.
“What’s this?” Intak ponders.
Jiung smiles again, except this time Intak notices it’s a bit more like a nervous smile. It reminds him of the nervous and clumsy Jiung he met for the first time. Intak waits patiently for him to speak, watching him take a deep breath.
“I really wanted you to see this. This is a piece I worked really hard on and I really wanted you to be the first one to see it,” Jiung’s voice shakes. Without waiting another second, he yanks the black curtain away and Intak stops breathing.
Before him is a portrait of a man and Intak thinks it’s immediately the best work he has ever laid eyes on. It isn’t until Intak sees the ice cream cone in the man’s hand and a familiar purple apron that he realizes that the person in the painting… is him.
“I don’t understand,” Intak blurts. He’s rendered speechless, taking in the artwork.
“When I met you for the first time, I was drawn to you. I remember the smell of your honey vanilla cologne. You were so kind to me that day,” Jiung starts. Intak feels breathless, in complete shock.
“I needed to submit one more piece for the art show when we met and when we met, I knew I needed to make this. I’ve been pulling all nighters almost everyday this week in order to finish this,” Jiung explains.
“Wait. Is that why you came to Scoops so many times?” Intak inquires.
Jiung nods. “I don’t have your social media or any pictures of you so I visited the shop to get good looks at you.”
It all makes sense now. The secret eye contact and stares from Jiung are finally plausible. He doesn’t say anything, still holding tightly to every word Jiung has said.
“When you confronted me that time in the ice cream shop, I panicked. I’m so sorry for running away like that. I couldn’t even think about how I would even explain something like this to you. I wanted you to see this in person,” Jiung smiles hopefully, but it doesn’t meet his eyes. Intak’s silence further builds the pit in his stomach.
“Do you not like it?”
Intak is pulled from his silence, looking back up at Jiung who now looks like he’s on the verge of tears.
“No, no, no!” He’s quick to reassure him. “Jiung, first of all, this is amazing. You’re beyond talented, I’m honestly blown away.
I’m honestly just so in shock right now. I was so nervous about coming tonight because I thought you would be mad at me. When you never returned back to the shop after I confronted you I assumed you didn’t want anything to do with me anymore. I never expected something like this -- I’m so touched, Jiung.”
The smile returns to Jiung’s face and he reaches into his pocket, pulling out a small envelope. Intak reaches for it, confused, but his heartbeat picks up as soon as he reads the front.
What I like about Intak.
“Oh my God!” Intak laughs. “No way!”
“I’ve so far enjoyed the time we’ve spent together. I think you’re one of the most genuine and kindest people I know at this school. I would love to get to know you better,” Jiung says and his face is beet red, shielding it slightly behind his hands.
Intak is hysterical, holding his stomach with laughter. The situation floods him with relief but also absurdity. He had no idea the night was going to turn out this way.
He opens the envelope and finds a smaller version of the portrait in front of him, and on the back is a list of five things he fancies about Intak.
- Your sparkling eyes
- Your height (perfect height for hugs!)
- Your hard working attitude
- When you get flustered
- Your honey vanilla cologne
“I scanned a copy of the portrait so you can have it for yourself,” Jiung explains.
Intak is so happy that he doesn’t know what to do with himself. Without overthinking it, he steps forward and wraps his arms around the latter, resting his head on his shoulder.
“This is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. I love it, Jiung. Thank you so much,” Intak breaths and he feels joyful tears blur his vision.
Jiung wraps his arms around Intak, smiling so wide. He melts into the hug, cherishing every second of it.
The two of them stay like that for a while, in the art exhibit with tens of other students, but both of them feel like the only two people in the room. They hold each other tightly, looking forward to whatever relationship is now brewing for them.
