Dusk Till Dawn
"Welcome to Seoul, Seungmin!" Apple uttered with a grin shades on her lips. She opened the door showing Seungmin the way to his new house. It was supposed to be an apartment with all floors owned by him. However, he refused them and settled for a new home with a second floor and two rooms. He loves it so much. Apple is his neighbor, just meters from her house.
"If anything, I want to help you unpack but I still have work at five." Apple wrinkles her eyes and elicits disheartened cuz she really likes to help him.
"You have already done a lot."
"Yeah, however, I dig too deeply though." She smiles this time though, her scent of fresh apple lingers in the air.
"You already told me everything. The shortcuts, that this neighborhood is very friendly and the metro is just out there. I'm going to be fine. I know how to read." Seungmin muttered, smiling at the girl who only stares at him warily.
"If you're sure. I guess. Just text me or call me if you need anything okay?" Apple sighed and stayed at the door frame staring at him then walked to his personal space and hugged Seungmin. "Promise me Min bear." Seungmin giggles and hugs her too before nodding gently.
It's becoming real. Him in the city and studying Languages and Literature. It's not his choice but his guardian's. Seungmin has no qualms about exposing himself to the world despite his secondary gender.
Kim Seungmin is an omega. The clingiest, domestic, and very alluring sub-gender in the making. However, he is very different. From a warm personality to action. There are no shades of omega in him.
He is cold, apathetic, and very guarded. His instinct is not to take care of others but himself. He doesn't like it when people get close to him, Apple is just someone who he could tolerate because his guardian told him so. And last, and his favorite as part of it? He trusts no one.
Like in the story, Seungmin has every reason to be this way. It takes him to lose everything to be able to understand the odds, the fate that made him an omega, and also the fate that let him suffer and continue his life. He went to Seoul to start a new life because he was healed but that doesn't change the fact that Seungmin will forever be alone. He doesn't need a pack, it was actually a ridiculous tradition for a wolf to have a pack. It's the 20th century, lone wolves exist and Seungmin doesn't feel lonely anymore. He was done being sad. There's nothing to that side, so he will live for himself. He will never accept people again in his life as he means. Fuck the heat or him being different from everybody. Seungmin already made a decision and that's to die alone.
The room he chose is the one that has a balcony. It was small and had only a single hammock installed at the corner. The room has a bigger leeway but Seungmin put a doubled size bed so he can save space. There's a bedside table, double doors closets, a single couch with carpet, and a speaker with a laptop. Seungmin also has bookshelves with tons of books, one polaroid camera, and paintings from artists he admires. And his favorite again, the bathroom. This room has its bathroom.
The foam is from IKEA Seungmin requested by his guardian. He likes the texture and everything, comfortable laying down on his back. Seungmin plans to tidy the place and since he was the great Kim Seungmin, he finishes them in a few hours.
Settlement in a new place is surprisingly easy. He got familiar with a new neighborhood and since he had a car, he's been using it to travel to the supermarket in restocking. Apple was frequent every weekend and she was so sweet for taking care of Seungmin.
"Are you ready for your first class tomorrow?" Apple asks him, she was seated on the sofa in the living area while eating popcorn. She does that whenever she feels like it. Coming to Seungmin's house and brings food, then asks him to help her while watching the movies she chooses.
"I'm gonna be fine." Seungmin retorts without so much expression. He sits straight while being interested in the movie. He was so relieved that Apple and he shared a movie interest which was thrillers.
"Have some friends." She mumbled afterward. Seungmin looked at her flabbergasted, but she didn't meet his eyes. Her gaze locked on the TV screen.
He didn't answer. She didn't press.
A year happened just like that. He was finally in his second year at the university. It was a cool journey as he wrote them in his journal and typed them in an email to send to his guardian. Seungmin also gathered some people that could pass as an acquaintance. Anyway, Apple got promoted and became his friend.
A scent blocker is standard when you're attending your classes in the uni. They were very strict at it, especially with omegas and alphas who accidentally got into heat and ruts. There is tight security on the campus and anyone who attacked or assaulted someone will be expelled. The University was holding students to be responsible for their secondary gender. So the campus is a lot freer and more peaceful.
"Are you in heat?" Seungmin asked Apple who nodded her head but still gave him food in a container, it was inside the paper bag.
"Shit. And why the fuck are you in my house?" Seungmin could feel his cheek turn red in rage. Apple bit her lip and apologized knowingly for how sensitive Seungmin is to heat.
"Okay. Okay! Just eat the food okay? Bye!" Apple runs to his residence while Seungmin follows outside just so he could see that she goes home safely.
Seungmin is running to the corridor to go to the library. There's an English literature subject that needs to be read and written an essay that will pass tomorrow. He totally forgot this because he went home early to check on Apple who was left alone. After all, her roommate is currently overseas attending seminars.
Seungmin sits in one of the vacant chairs in the library. He is writing non stop ignoring the world when someone taps his shoulder, he didn't glance because he was working but the tap didn't stop so Seungmin looked at the person that kept disturbing him.
"Excuse me but you're in my seat." The boy who has blonde hair mumbled. His eyes are foxy and have a keen deep voice. He awkwardly gives a smile to Seungmin while knitting his brows.
"Pardon?" Seungmin mumbled, confused at what the boy just said to him.
"My backpack is beneath the table. Also, this spot is already taken." He murmured shyly and flashes a charming smile to Seungmin.
Seungmin almost scoffs, wanting to roll his eyes but he has no time for that. He needed to go home so bad he had no time to deal with this person no matter how beautiful and sweet smells he was.
"Sorry. But can I sit for a while? I promised I just need to finish these two pages." Seungmin tried, but there was no expression written on his face. He just blatantly stares at the young omega in front of him.
"O-Oh... Then okay." The boy said again, looking skeptical but didn't press Seungmin to leave.
"I'll sit in a different chair then. Sorry for this." Seungmin transferred to the chair next to the boy. The library is full and it will take him time to look for another seat. He just needs to hurry up. His phone was drained for two days now, he always forgets to charge it.
"Jeongin? Are you okay?" Seungmin heard a voice behind his back but Seungmin is busy, still writing furiously, and has been ignoring his surroundings.
"I'm fine hyung, just.. uhm." The younger one affirmed and glanced at Seungmin who was still busy.
"Hey." Seungmin heard a voice, but he ignored it.
"Hey!" The voice turned stern and Seungmin paused in writing and looked at the person who was about to growl at him.
"Can you leave?" The guy has purple hair and is probably an alpha base on his eyes glowing in red. Seungmin sighs and tiredly faces him with a scoff threatening to escape his lips.
"Minho hyung..." The blonde guy called, eyes widening at them.
"I'm sorry but I just need to finish writing this and I will be gone." Seungmin tried, he felt like he was begging but the guy only looked at him ridiculously.
"Oh yeah? My omega here is very uncomfortable in your presence. Get the hell out of here." Minho growls sternly while Seungmin looks at Jeongin who is truthfully having discomfort scents on him. It was very faint but Seungmin could still smell the omega.
"Sorry." He whispered and got up to take his notebook and the book. He left without turning his head back.
Seungmin found a small place between the shelves and didn't care for the people who stared at him weirdly while he was writing on the cold floor. He bends his body and resumes copying the notes. He didn't have time to read them, he was worried for Apple who was alone in her house and also had so many things to do, and this shit essay is taking his golden time.
"Uh, excuse me but I saw you at our table earlier, and Minho's been rude. You can go back and finish writing that." Seungmin ignored the man and continued to write. He was lucky that his handwriting was pretty even though he was in a rush. Only one page.
"Thank you but I can manage." He said without glancing at the man who was still looking at him while Seungmin was focused on his work.
"I'm Chan by the way. I really like to apologize for my packmate's behavior." Seungmin turned stiff hearing a pack word but he didn't let it be noticeable. He continued to write but the alpha didn't leave, only watching him with his intense gaze.
"I'm really okay. Thank you." Seungmin stares at Chan who is also gaze trained on him. His eyes flash in deep red and blink at Seungmin before nodding his head. The omega sighs in relief when the alpha leaves.
"I feel bad, hyung." Seungmin heard but didn't even flinch. He is used to this ability.
"What? I thought he was an alpha okay? Jeongin looks so uncomfortable! You can't blame me!" Minho retorts, and there's silence after that.
"He was between the shelves writing on the floor. If that makes you feel worse, yeah."
"What hyung?" Jeongin voice.
"It was cold! I told you that he was only here because he seems desperate to copy some pages in that book!"
"Whatever, we never really know what's with him." Minho reasoned out.
"You should still apologize." Chan's voice said.
Seungmin finished writing and quickly put his notebook in his backpack and quickly walked to the shelves. He knew that Minho was coming to him but he didn't have time for a nonsense pep talk. He walks fast ignoring some students. He deposited back the book and left the library. He feels scared and annoyed at the same time.
"Pack huh?" What a bull.
The next day, Seungmin came to the campus early. He needed to write a summary of what he copied last time. He only has three subjects today and Seungmin feels his sore muscles and bruises appear on his body. It will be near his heat again.
Seungmin has a very special heat. He was one of the omegas who had severe heat symptoms. The bruises will appear on his skin and it was randomly spotted on his skin. He will also feel cramps and body sores. He is not a normal omega. He is part of the ancient werewolves who have abilities. He never really shifted yet so he didn't know the length of his ability but his senses are sharp like what happened in the library. He could hear or see, and feel more if he wanted to but chose to ignore them because he is not a fan of his skills. He is also good at shielding his scent making him appear as a beta. Almost close to none.
Seungmin is eating alone at the cafeteria while texting Apple when someone suddenly appears at his side. The man has purple hair, white skin, and very expressive eyes. Tho he was beautiful but Seungmin was confused so he ignored the beauty but waited for him to speak.
"Can we sit here? The cafeteria is full but his table is still open for more students. He asked, ears flushing red but Seungmin knew that it wasn't because he found him attractive but because he was shy asking for the table. Seungmin didn't know.
"Help yourself." Seungmin just shrugged. They didn't have to ask him though, it wasn't his table anyway. All of the students can sit wherever they want.
He came back texting Apple, making sure that his friend was eating like him. This is the last day of her heat or so he thought. Nonetheless, he was still worried.
"Uhm, Thank you." The foxy eyes smile at Seungmin when he is seated beside the omega. Seungmin just shrugged off and didn't understand why the boy was smiling friendly at him.
"Are you done with your essay?" He asked again, friendlier this time. Seungmin frowned but nodded his head. He pocketed his phone and focused on eating.
Seungmin feels weird. He blinks realizing that the people at the table are not talking that much. But he still eats slowly and confidently.
"I'm sorry." Seungmin heard across from him. He looks at the purple-haired man. If it was him he apologizes but the guy is flushing red over his ears and neck. What's with him?
"Sorry?" He asked, confused. He pointed to himself to make sure it was him that he was talking to.
He frowns, taken aback at Seungmin's clueless question. He nodded his head though.
"Uhm why are you apologizing? For the table? It was free for all students. I don't really care." Seungmin supplied while the man fluttered his eyelashes at Seungmin, still bewildered.
"I think it was about yesterday." The foxy eyes said beside him.
"What happened yesterday? It's my first time seeing him?" Seungmin says confuse again. What? When did he see them anyway?
"Oh."
"Maybe you mistake me for someone?" He helps them say and resume eating.
"It was you though, in the library." Seungmin stopped eating and narrowed his eyes. Memories suddenly pop out in his head and stare at the purple man who yeah, rudely treated him. He didn't hold grudges; it was only normal to be protected by his omega.
"And you?" He asked again.
"I sit beside you too!" The fox's eyes flushed and avoided his gaze, lowering his head to the ground.
"Oh, the kind boy," Seungmin muttered under his breath. The fox's eye seemed to get redder while he was at the center of his gaze.
"Uhm, you're getting red. I think he's sick?" Seungmin says, turning his head to the purple-haired boy who looks at him as if he grew two heads.
"Innie-ah is just shy." He said grinning now while the younger only whined cutely at the alpha.
"Anyway. I don't mind. What's done is done." Seungmin says to the hair purple guy who amusingly stares at him.
"You're strange."
"So I've heard."
"Ahm, how about we treat your coffee as compensation? We really feel bad though." The fox eye boy muttered, still blushing red and his scent is sweeter.
"I really think you're sick? Go to the infirmary after eating. I'll be going now. Also, you guys don't have to. It was okay." Seungmin bowed his head and marched to his next class. It is still early but Seungmin likes to have his seat already.
The day came in a blur and it was already the weekend. He was going to the coffee shop near the neighborhood to buy it for Apple. She is still in a haze after her heat and kinda in a drunken state and she turned out to be a complete baby so Seungmin indulges him to buy her favorite drink.
He's been in this coffee shop often and sometimes he's with Apple. He also has his favorite seat. The ambiance is very cozy and relaxing. It helps that they have some plants inside and are not crowded even though it was the weekend. He just wants to chill before coming back. Apple will come to his house after lunch anyway.
"Oh hey! you're here!" Seungmin looks at the foxy eyes beaming at him with a wide smile. He sat across from Seungmin without asking and waited for him to acknowledge his presence.
"You recognized me right?" The foxy guy asked and Seungmin nodded his head, not saying much because it confused him that the boy was being friendly to him.
"Ah, my name is Yang Jeongin, a finance major." The foxy boy muttered shyly.
"Kim Seungmin, Literature major." He said just to be polite.
"Thank you by the way," Jeongin says after a while. Seungmin looks at him as if asking why he was thankful.
"Last time we met you told me to go to the infirmary. I did follow your advice so we could talk again if we see each other but yeah, anyway. It turns out that I was in pre-heat. The beginning actually. I didn't notice and we prepared early so it didn't hurt much." Jeongin says eyes glistening from the morning sun.
"Glad to know," Seungmin says.
"By the way, are you from here? I hang out at this place often." Jeongin asked.
It turns out that Jeongin is a very kind kid. He is cute too and easy to talk with. They have some similarities and likes in food. The omega is also very opinionated and clever. He's a brat too though.
Their conversation halted when a presence came to their table. A tall male with blonde hair approaches them and Seungmin could say that this guy is so beautiful. His eyes are like those of a cat, underneath he has a birth mole and flawless skin. Seungmin avoids his gaze though Jeongin acknowledges him instantly.
"Hyunjin hyung!" Jeongin blurted out, smiling widely. They hug and the alpha who smells like rain kisses Jeongin lovingly. Seungmin likes to grimace at the show of possessiveness. It didn't bother him though.
"Hyung... I'm with a friend. This is Kim Seungmin, a Literature major." Jeongin said, flushing red.
"Oh? The famous alpha?" Hyunjin supplied and also sat at their table without asking Seungmin first.
"Alpha?" Seungmin asked him, confused.
"Yeah? In a library. Minho hyung thought there was an alpha who was pressuring Innie, he smelled him being anxious." Hyunjin narrowed his eyes on him while Seungmin looked at Jeongin who was blushing red now.
"Hyunjin hyung! He's not! Minho hyung already apologized! Jeez, you're not listening to what Chan hyung was saying." Jeongin pouted while the Hyunjin guy only grinned and Seungmin can officially say that this guy is breathtakingly handsome.
"I'm not an alpha though," Seungmin says, flabbergasted. He didn't know that some people were confused assuming he was an alpha.
"Hm, yeah you aren't. You smell faintly too." Seungmin froze when he saw the alpha come closer to smell his scents. He blinks "A beta." Hyunjin supplied again.
"That's rude," Seungmin muttered, his hands trembling in fear. 'Don't smell me, don't smell, don't smell.'
"Oh, Seungmin hyung, are you okay?" Jeongin asked as he looked at him worriedly while releasing pheromones subconsciously.
"It's rude enough that you came here and acted as if we were close. Blabbing about my sub-gender. You also dared to invade my personal space. I didn't permit you to smell my scent." Seungmin says, eyes glossy with fear. His lips were quivering and maybe, Jeongin has a sharp nose because his eyes turned wide sensing his fear of Hyunjin. He stands up almost out of breath, he feels so fucking suffocated. There's a static ringing in his ears and it hits him. It's been a while since he had a panic attack, his legs turned to jelly and he almost stumbled on the table.
"Hey, are you okay?" Hyunjin comes forward but Seungmin only widens his eyes in fear.
"Don't fucking come near me alpha!" He yells and the ringing static is getting louder and louder in his ears. Jeongin came forward, and it was such a relief that they were the only people in the shop.
Jeongin gives him comforting pheromones while whispering good things in his ears. Seungmin is still trembling but his gaze didn't leave Hyunjin, who froze in standing while gawking at them. He's scared, what if it happened again? His terrors with alphas.
"It's fine Seungmin hyung. Hyunjin hyung will not come here. He won't hurt you I promise." Seungmin looked at Jeongin and shifted his gaze to Hyunjin again, watching his movements like prey to his predator.
"Sure?" He asked, Jeongin nodded his head and sternly looked at Hyunjin. The Alpha also nodded his head in confirmation. His gaze is not stern anymore, he looks like a beat puppy so Seungmin calms down. The static is fading away and his breathing comes to normal.
"I think I should go," Seungmin said and was about to stand up but his legs were still jelly so he stumbled again. Jeongin, who was a good kid, caught him and helped him to sit properly.
"Uh, this is awkward but thanks and I'm sorry. I panic." Seungmin is still catching his breath. He feels silly and embarrassed.
"No, it's fine. I'm the wrong one here." Hyunjin said, looking dejected. Seungmin pressed his lips together and didn't comment on it. It was the truth, there is no need to deny it.
"And I apologize. You're right, I shouldn't have acted like a jerk here." Hyunjin mumbled again. Seungmin just stares at him, his wolf is not settling on Hyunjin's alpha. Maybe because it was dominant? His gaze turned heavy and Hyunjin began to blush red. He flutters his long eyelashes while Seungmin is still wary of him. He frowned when Hyunjin sheepishly offered a smile and brushed his hair backward.
"You're dominant and so I can't help being scared," Seungmin mumbled absentmindedly.
Hyunjin eyes wide in surprise and get flustered vehemently.
"Right. Hyunjin hyung is a dominant alpha but he shows them when it's needed or when stranger alphas are talking with us. He's strange but very soft." Jeongin said, beaming beautifully.
"You stare too much!" Hyunjin whined pouting now.
"I can't help it! I'm wary of you." Seungmin still awkwardly watching Hyunjin's every move.
He flinches when Hyunjin stands up and the alpha only rolls his eyes walking away to order drinks for him and Jeongin.
"Are you really okay hyung?" Jeongin asked, his hands still wrapped around Seungmin that he didn't notice a while ago.
"Yeah. I'm okay now, I just got overwhelmed by his dominant status. You can go back to your seat now, Jeongin." Seungmin smiled gratefully but the younger omega only pouted, not wanting to leave his side.
"Felix, Minho, and Hyunjin hyung are the most excessive in the pack. Sometimes it's annoying but I understand their protectiveness. Jisung hyung is a cool omega like me! Changbin hyung is the only beta while Chan hyung is our pack leader. He is very sweet." Jeongin chuckles while Seungmin only nods his head, which explains why they were so protective of each other.
"Were packmates too!" Jeongin looks so excited while Seungmin feels tired merely listening to him blabbing about his pack until Hyunjin comes back and Seungmin sits straight again. Jeongin can see the wary eyes and guarded stance. Hyunjin sulk at it but they didn't comment on it.
"Oh, Innie is here too!" A voice from a distance says and they all look at the two men walking to their table.
"Minho and Jisung hyung!" Jeongin beams and giggles at his mates.
"Hi baby," Jisung shyly muttered and pinch Jeongin's cheeks which turned pink right away.
"Hyung, this is Kim Seungmin, the one I was talking about." Jisung blinked and shyly nodded his head. He looks cute with his fluffy cheeks which remind Seungmin of a cute animal too. He smiles and Seungmin bows his head to acknowledge the shy omega.
"How are you Seungmin?" Minho asked, he smiled at the younger and sat beside him while Jisung sat beside Hyunjin. Again, they didn't ask permission if it was okay to join him at his table.
"I'm fine, thank you." Seungmin's retorts calm down a bit. At least, he knows Minho before. He sips his drink to relax more.
"What? Why aren't you wary of Minho hyung? That's unfair!" Hyunjin mumbled, sulking while sipping his amerikano. Jeongin chuckles while Minho raises his brow. Jisung only gawked at them curiously.
"He scared Seungmin hyung because of his dominant alpha and then yeah, Seungmin is kinda wary of him," Jeongin says leaving out all the details. Minho only frowned but didn't comment on it. He's sharper than he looks.
"Hyunjin is the less aggressive though," Jisung muttered shyly, unaware of the tension building at the table.
"He was rude to me," Seungmin says, his voice low and very guarded. "But it's fine now, just don't be close to me." He did not leave Hyunjin in his prey's gaze. He is still shaking inside.
Hyunjin looked like he was going to speak something but just nodded his head. Jisung seems to catch his alpha's discomfort so he holds his hand and smiles at him.
"How about Minho hyung? He's the scary one." Jisung asked curiously now. His deer eyes are large and pretty glistening. There's a teasing tone in his voice though.
"Really?" Seungmin looks at Minho who also looks back at him. He didn't seem to be dangerous though. It's the opposite, his wolf recognizes Minho as a protector of his omega. He's a good person.
"He looks like a good person to me." He muttered under his breath. Hyunjin choke while Jisung looks at him with bewildered eyes. Jeongin only smirked at that.
"Uhm, he protects his omega and... That's cool." Seungmin shrugged his shoulders ignoring the gasps from the people at the table.
"You really think that Minho hyung is not scary?" Jisung asks, still in awe. Amusement at Seungmin.
"Yup. He is shy actually. He turns red easily." Seungmin looked at Minho who was red now to make his point more evident. Jeongin is laughing hard while Hyunjin also looks at Minho awkwardly.
"I think you're right about that." Jisung raised his brow and looked deeply at Minho.
"Anyway, I'll be going. It's nice to meet er you guys" Seungmin says, still staring cautiously at Hyunjin who is deeply sulking now. Seungmin feels bad so he sighs and with his trembling fingers, he caresses the blond's head, soft and very quick touch. "Uhm, it will be okay. You're not pretty when you're sulking." Hyunjin flushed purposely but Seungmin was already looking at Jisung who was also staring at him.
"Have a nice day orebun." Seungmin bids them goodbye and Jeongin watches him leave the cafe.
"He's very pretty Innie," Jisung mumbles under his breath while Hyunjin is still red, drinking his coffee butterfly on his stomach.
"Hyunjin hyung, you almost scared him to death," Jeongin said and the older man quickly straightened to his seat. Jeongin told them what happened before they arrived. Minho and Jisung felt bad too.
"He got a panic attack. Do you think he has a bad experience with alphas?" Jisung says but the group didn't comment on it.
It's been a long time passes when Jeongin speaks again. "Hm, we didn't know. Please don't assume anything. I don't want to scare him off, I want to be his friend." Jeongin says smiling this time.
"Anyway, he seems to like talking with you and Minho hyung too," Jisung smirked at Minho who only rolled his eyes.
"Sucks to be Hyunjin then." Minho giggles teasing the blonde.
"I kill you!"
"Sure babe."
The meeting has been frequent and Seungmin just found himself being with Jeongin as the younger keeps popping out of nowhere and talking to him. Sometimes Minho is the one who eats with him in the cafeteria and they have a very absurd conversation that ends with bickering. He didn't know these people came into his life but Seungmin is glad that he is living normally like what his guardian wanted when he asks Seungmin's plan after that tragedy in his life.
"How about you come to our house hyung? We can watch a movie!" Jeongin said one time while they were having lunch in the cafeteria. Minho also nodded his head, the older one is really weird. He was in a different department and schedule but he still found time to join Seungmin and Jeongin during their lunchtime.
"Is that okay though?" Seungmin asked, skeptical. Minho only frowned at him.
"It's not a problem Seungmo." He mumbled his teasing nickname to the younger.
"Will Hyunjin be there?" Seungmin is still wary of the said alpha. They don't have that many meetings for his wolf to settle but he is still scared. He just recently learned that they're polyamorous packmates that live together.
"We ask him not to be in the house if it bothers you," Jeongin mumbled, blinking. He sounded not sure though, they all know how dramatic Hyunjin was.
"No. It's fine, I want to overcome this stupidity anyway. It's long overdue. Hyunjin is not that kind of alpha." Seungmin whispered to himself but the males beside him still heard it.
"That's good then! How about on saturday? You can sleep over too! I have a pretty nest!" Jeongin turns shy after he just said. He looks bewildered too but Seungmin just nods. Apple also frequently asks Seungmin to her nest. Friends are like that, it isn't really strange. He's an omega too. However, the shock on Jeongin's face lingers in the air, Minho holds his hand and squeezes them to send comfort. Minho was also surprised at Jeongin's willingness to share his nest. It never happened before. He is very possessive of that part of himself and his omega also dislikes outsiders. He stares knowingly at Jeongin who pressed his lips together while Seungmin is eating quietly. Oblivious to the intrusive thoughts that made the younger omega off guard.
Seungmin is wearing an oversized hoodie with sweatpants. His hair is damp on his forehead without any thought of wearing any fancy clothes since he was just visiting his friend's house. Being with Apple for a year comes to Seungmin not to check his appearance and just to be comfortable with each other's houses. Though, Seungmin won't look odd being bare-faced right?
He brings cookies that Apple and he baked last night for this day. The omega girl is excited saying that it was his first time going to a friend's house and that she was so proud of him. Seungmin flat-out told her that he's been in her house and it was not really a big deal. Apple looked offended but the excitement didn't fade. She also said that Seungmin must be respectful and that if something happens, he will call her.
"Yes, mom." Seungmin mocked but still patted Apple's crown head before heading out.
Seungmin is at the door ringing the doorbell. The door opens and a boy who has blonde hair with freckles greeted him with a frown.
"Yes? Who are you?" He asked in English. His voice is deep, Seungmin steps backward and bows to the alpha.
"I'm here for Jeongin." He retorts in English too. The guy's eyes enlarge with surprise and after a wary staring someone comes forward and Seungmin sighs in relief seeing Hyunjin at the front door too.
"Seungminie?" Hyunjin beams and greets him. He smiles and softly shoves the freckles blonde away from the door.
Seungmin holds Hyunjin to his shirt as leverage and eyed the freckled foreigner in the distance. The tall alpha seems to detect Seungmin fear and holds his wrist caressing it.
"This is one of our mates. Lee Felix. Kim Seungmin." Hyunjin introduced them. Seungmin bows his head again and holds the helm of Hyunjin's shirt again. His heart is beating faster as Felix gazes deeply at him.
"Hello." He said again in English. He didn't know if it was appropriate to speak in Korean while Felix hadn't spoken again after asking who he was.
"Come in, Seungmin. Jeongin has been difficult and waiting for you." Seungmin made sure that he was at a safe distance from Felix. He holds Hyunjin as if his life depended on him. At least his wolf found him as an ally.
"Seungmin hyung!" Jeongin comes and hugs him when they see each other. He smiles while greeting the younger and giggles when Jeongin starts babbling about the movie they will watch.
"Minho hyung is cooking for us." He informs Seungmin. He looks at Hyunjin and Seungmin who are still holding the taller shirt.
"Why? Something happened?" Jeongin quickly frowned worriedly.
"He meets Felix at the front door." Hyunjin helpfully says. They go to the sofa and Seungmin didn't realize that he was still tugging Hyunjin's shirt seeing Felix also sitting on the couch near them. He was ignoring them though attention to his phone. His intense gaze didn't leave Felix and Hyunjin chuckling at Seungmin's guarded stance.
"So he's been like this with me before?" Hyunjin asks Jeongin who also stays beside Seungmin giggling too, nodding his head in agreement.
"Seungmin!" Chan shows up and smiles at the younger. Seungmin shared his smile and greeted the older.
"Hyung." He said softly. Glad that Chan is also here. Chan is the alpha only Seungmin recognizes because of his scent. He initially knows it when Chan approaches him one day about apologizing again for the library incident. The older alpha is a lot sweet and respectful in his boundaries. They hang out in the library sometimes too when Seungmin found Chan alone studying. He will sit across from him and they have a little conversation that ended up with him receiving free tutoring from the older one. He was actually the only alpha who has Seungmin's contacts.
"How are you, buddy? I received your text last night, are these the cookies you bake?" Chan asks in delight. Seungmin nodded vehemently and excitedly gave the paper bag to Chan. He takes a picture of the cookies from last night and sends it to Chan asking him if it was okay and if Jeongin will like to eat them. The older one says that they will surely love them so he approved of it praising the omega on his skills.
"Apple helps me bake. I hope you guys enjoy the treats. It's for everyone." Seungmin sheepishly smiles and Chan caresses his hair before seating next to Felix.
"Wow. Do you guys know each other? And you texted?! Why didn't you tell me?!" Jeongin yells and Seungmin is surprised by the sudden loud voice. Even Hyunjin is also bewildered at Chan and Seungmin being close.
"Yeah. We've been studying in the library and Chan hyung helps me with my subject sometimes. He's a good hyung."
"Who's a good hyung?" Minho and Jisung came together with food in their hands, putting them on the coffee table.
"Minho hyung! Seungminie has been texting Chan hyung! And we didn't even know his number! Oh my god." Jeongin whined and bit his lips sulking at the corner.
Minho had a surprised expression on his face and clearly glared at Chan who raised both his hands in surrender.
"Oh? You didn't find Chan hyung as aggressive too? He's scarier than Minho and Hyunjin here. He's a very dominant alpha" Jisung sounded intrigued but Seungmin just shrugged his shoulders. Chan? No, he's like a kid.
"Oh, How about our sunshine Felix? He's less aggressive with-." Jisung halted when Felix's gaze turned to Seungmin. He froze on the spot and since Hyunjin is close to him, he hides half of his face and his fingers begin to shake. He blinks back at the heavy pounding of his chest. He cowers and Jeongin immediately comes to assure Seungmin.
"Hey, hyung, it's fine. We're here." Jeongin whispered while Seungmin settled his breathing. Hyunjin also caresses his head, and he feels fine after a while. Jisung is looking at him weirdly while also glinting with concern. Felix is mute, pouting at the corner.
"I guess you're scared of him too." Jisung finishes awkwardly. Seungmin bit his lips and mumbled sorry. Nevertheless, he feels guilty for acting this way.
"Uhm, sorry. I didn't mean to." Seungmin muttered in English again. He didn't know why he kept speaking like this but the blonde freckle boy first conversed with him in English so he really didn't know how not to appear rude since he also can speak English.
"I didn't offend you right?" Felix asked, his deep voice sending shivering fear to Seungmin. Oh my gosh.
"Uh no. I... I just, we just met. You didn't do anything. You're good just my wolf being himself." Seungmin unhelpfully supplied but Felix smiled at him and Seungmin avoided his gaze, sighing in relief.
"I'm glad he's not mad." He whispered to himself and since Hyunjin is closer to him heard him. He laughs at Seungmin and the tension fades at least for a while.
"You're really strange Seungmin." Jisung can't help but mutter. The younger only raises his eyebrow not offended.
"You got scared of Hyunjin and Felix who were basically the drama queen and sunshine in the pack. Those two, Chan and Minho, are the real Lion here. They're very scary!" Jisung shivered in exaggeration. However, Jeongin is giggling at the side, amusement showing on his face.
"What? Chan is a good hyung, very respectful of my boundaries. Minho hyung is not scary though. He's a protector, a good alpha." Seungmin said with a straight face. He blinks at Jisung who was in awe after Seungmin explains.
"Then how about me and Jeongin?" Jisung asked again excitedly. Seungmin isn't sure why Jisung is acting like this but since the omega seems to have fun, then there's no harm in being honest.
"You're uhm, cute. Your cheeks. Also very perceptive and confident. Jeongin is a brat and cute too. He's easy to be with, very comfortable." Seungmin smiles at that, he's the second omega Seungmin gets to be friends with. Apple is the first one.
"Then tell mine too! And Felix!' Hyunjin sulks and Seungmin rolls his eyes.
"Hyunjin is rude at first, confident, and uhm beautiful. Your mole under your eyes is so pretty. Felix-ssi is... uhm, scary." Seungmin gulped, blinking at Felix who looked disappointed at his answer.
"That's a very detailed and strange opinion to us," Jisung mumbled after a while. "Also, I'm cute?" Jisung grinned and Seungmin looked him straight in the eyes, "Yes, very cute." Jisung got flustered but Seungmin didn't bat an eye. He is used to complimenting beautiful people. It didn't bother him because it was the truth.
"Yah, my heart skipped a beat," Jisung mumbled and Chan looked at his omega fondly.
"Anyway Changbin hyung is still sleeping. I'll wake him up so Seungmin hyung will meet him. Jeongin quickly disappears from his seat. Minho chooses to sit beside him.
"How old are you Seungmin?" Felix asked, trying to have a conversation. He looks determined and it scares Seungmin a little nonetheless he still responds to him.
"I just turned 21 this September." Felix beams flashing his white teeth and maybe, just a little. Jisung is right that Felix is sunshine.
"We're the same age then! My birthday is also in September just after Jisung!" He looks excited and Seungmin begins to relax.
"Oh, that's cool then." He smiles but is still wary because his hands are closely gripping the helm of his shirt.
"I'll just go to the bathroom." Hyunjin excuses himself. Seungmin sits closely to Minho and holds the helm of his long sleeves. Minho let him and seemed relaxed in his seat.
Jeongin comes and goes to Seungmin claiming the vacant spot next to him. Another man comes forward and they stare at each other. Seungmin feels fierce irritation so he holds Minho's hoodie in fear. He could smell his disapproval of Seungmin and he is sure that the beta hates his presence. He glances at his hands touching his mate and Seungmin turns pale when the man's scents become rotten. He hates him, oh my gosh. He took the pillow on his feet and picked it up so Seungmin could hug them instead of touching Minho or Jeongin.
"He's our Binnie hyung! Changbin for a long, this is Seungmin." He bows at the beta and Changbin only nodded his head but his scent didn't falter. Seungmin tried not to sneeze at the rotten scent getting stronger in the air. He was hated.
He sat next to Jisung and the younger one accepted him into his arms. Changbin ignores Seungmin while being back-hugged by Jisung. His rotten scents fade and Seungmin feels like he can finally breathe.
The movie started, and Hyunjin came back and took Jeongin away from his seat to the younger's dismay. He was in his lap though, so he accepted. Jisung is on Changbin's lap too while Felix and Chan are cuddling. Minho is the only one who was just sitting quietly while watching the same with Seungmin who wrinkles his nose when he smells Changbin's disliked scent.
He yawns after a while, Minho looked at him in awe though. "Your sleepy?" He whispered in Seungmin's ears but the omega denied it. Trying to enlarge his eyes but the older one looks at him unimpressed.
"You can close your eyes. Jeongin won't be mad." He offered, Seungmin hugged the throw pillow tightly and shook his head again.
"Are you okay though?" He whispered again.
"Hyung. Let's just watch okay? You keep distracting me." He rolled his eyes while Minho only pinched his cheek gently. The younger ignored it, it was the first time Minho touched him besides occasionally patting his head.
"You're scared of Changbin too," Minho murmured again. Seungmin didn't want to comment on it but Minho kept staring at him and it becomes uncomfortable.
"I did." He honestly says and stares back at Minho. They stare at each other weighing emotions but Seungmin is a lot more skilled in that area.
"Why?" Minho asked. His gaze is different, and his presence is so close too, Seungmin could almost taste Minho's scent but of course, he dismissed them.
"Can you keep a secret hyung? And promise me that you'll not react indifferently?" Seungmin eyes are dark and very intense. He needs assurance so he could be honest with his friend.
"Cross my heart." Minho's attention is all over him. And Seungmin kinda shuddered at the alpha if only Seungmin didn't get distracted by the loud noise from the movie, adding Jisung and Felix's screams too.
"Changbin-ssi hates me. And it was okay hyung." Seungmin smiles in understanding. Minho widened his eyes in surprise and maybe he thought or noticed it too. He didn't comment on them. He just quietly turned to watch the movie and didn't disturb him anymore. Seungmin is thankful for that.
"I'll take you home." Minho offered. It was late but Seungmin didn't plan to stay over because Changbin dislikes him. He'll get sick smelling his rotten smell all directed at him.
"Nah, Apple is probably waiting for me outside. Thank you hyung."
"Goodbye cutie pie." Seungmin hugged Jeongin who was sleepy in Hyunjin's arms. He bid goodbyes to everyone though.
Minho followed him outside and patted Seungmin's head. "Go inside hyung it's cold and I really appreciate this day. You guys are so kind."
"Do you enjoy it?" Minho looks at him worriedly but Seungmin is sincere when he says he had fun.
"About Changbin..." Minho begins.
"He's your pack and mate hyung. Don't ever say something that will make him feel insecure. You must be on his side all the time. I know you're being a good hyung but I am actually glad that Changbin-ssi dislikes me. It balances my beliefs. He must be so protective and cares for all of you. It's a relief." Seungmin chuckles genuinely.
"But you're a good person." Minho sighs when Seungmin looks at him in disapproval.
"No hyung. I'm not. And please don't be harsh on his judgment over me or anyone else. Believe me that he's the core of the pack if he was being neutral toward outsiders. Also, I know I'm being ridiculous acting like this but it won't change that you guys are my friends now." Minho touched his cheek and Seungmin only smiled at him.
"Thank you," Minho whispered in understanding. Seungmin leaned to Minho's touch before going.
There's a black Mercedes outside and the door opened when Seungmin was closer. Minho watches him hop in before coming back inside the house.
"So you heard us right?" Minho crosses his arms while Hyunjin snorts at the alpha.
"He knows it, at first sight, Binnie," Felix chuckles while cuddling the beta.
"I only acted that way because Felix said it was a good prank! Now, Jeongin is upset!" He rolls his eyes at Chan who raises his brow.
"I can't smell him," Felix mumbled again, ignoring the tension with his mates.
"I did the first time. He smells sweet but very faint." Hyunjin mumbled.
"It's weird that he already knows that Hyunjin is the dominant alpha. He hides it with his pretty face." Felix mocked while Hyunjin only rolled his eyes at the younger alpha.
"He fucking said that Chan is not intimidating," Jisung said in English. Felix chuckles like a devil in disbelief.
"How about Minho hyung? Shit." Hyunjin supplied. Those are the feral alpha Hyunjin have ever met.
"We can't Minho," Chan warned the alpha whose eyes were beaming with Red.
"Why? I want him." Jisung snorted, shaking his head. He knew this would happen. Minho is very possessive about what he likes. He never let them go once he spotted them in his den.
"Jeongin is already attached hyung. That devil will never let Seungmin go even if we cannot stop him. No one ever did. Seungmin can influence him though, he even intends to invite him to his nest." Minho supplied, which earned a choking sound from Jisung.
"Oh my god."
"We're doomed. Jeongin will kill us if we upset him. They all looked at Changbin who was still guilty at the corner. Felix was shocked too. He didn't expect them to be this deep.
"Hyunjin! Get his favorite blanket! That throw pillow Seungmin has been hugging earlier!" Jisung uttered so fast but Chan calmed him down.
"It was already in his possession." Hyunjin sighed, Jeongin will be fine.
"Don't you dare seduce him, Minho hyung. He's different." Hyunjin warns sternly.
"I'm not an idiot. I've been flirting with him and he never bats an eye. He gets Jisung flustered, remember? Our Jisungie?" Jisung blushes purposely remembering Seungmin's gaze at him. Fuck.
"Even Felix's beauty didn't crack him." Chan giggles at that. No one could resist Felix.
"Jeongin will kill you guys. Don't ever think of it. He only allowed Minho to get close to Seungmin. He is still angry at Chan because he didn't know about the texting." Felix says in English again. He chuckles.
"Wait till he goes to your bone, Lee Felix. Let's see how strong you are." Hyunjin challenged while Felix only grinned confidently.
"He got me to remember? Minho hyung and Jeongin are the hardest to crack but he first shields them to his side. Two devils in one try. Chan snorts realizing the heaviness of it.
"Watch yourselves. Control Minho." The latter only rolls his eyes.
