Work Text:

It had been a difficult day leaving Storybrooke, hugging Henry one last time before the very last call for Flight AA1316 from Portland to London. You would have liked to stay for longer, take the Red Eye to London if possible, but this flight was the only one which wouldn't be in London in the middle of the night, and Henry insisted you should be awake when you're there, you had to get used to the new timezone.

He held your hand until you were too far away from each other, his fingers lingering on yours as long as possible. You didn't know when you'd meet again. It might take years, even. You were a bit scared of your relationship being a long-distance one as you had heard all kinds of horror stories of lovers living on different sides of the Atlantic Ocean, but you still had faith for him and you.

And when you were there and were settling to your new university after a good night's dream, you video called Henry, he looked sleepy too, his hair pointing in every direction, as he undoubtedly had slept until now so he would be awake when you'd call - but he was happy to see you.

"You look so pretty." he muttered and you grinned at his goofy comment.

"I miss you already." you sighed and Henry cocked his head.

"We might be a thousand miles away from each other but if you ever need me, I'll come for you." he grinned. "By renting a rowboat if not else."

You giggled, Henry always knew how to make you smile, even when you weren't actually face to face.

Maybe this relationship would work even when you wouldn't be able to hold each other, when you weren't able to touch. But seeing his face and hearing his voice was enough for now. You would have time to touch each other when you'd move back to Maine after you'd finish your studies, and as Henry said - if you ever needed him, or he needed you, he'd come for you.

Notes:

Kudos and comments are welcome!!

Yes, I take requests, but please do not request in the comments, I only take requests on my Tumblr. My Tumblr url is swanimagines.tumblr.com. You need an account to request. I don't want to see "Inbox (6)", get excited and then learn all of those are requests. In Tumblr, my askbox is meant for requests so it's different, and I fully expect to see a request when I see I've gotten an ask, but here I automatically think of a non-request comment first.
