Work Text:

“Don’t you want to eat?” Mikage Reo sat in the hidden stairwell, opening his bento box, and turning his head to ask Nagi Seishirou, who was clinging to his cell phone and fighting soundly in his game.

“…hmm.” Nagi’s head was buried in the phone screen. His fingers were moving fast and it looked like the battle was reaching a critical moment, “It’s too much trouble.”

The bread that was supposed to be for lunch was next to him. What is it today, meronpan or walnut? The man's seven-day-a-week diet was surprisingly filled with bread. How on earth did he grow in this size.

Reo sighed, snapped the lid back on the bento, and put the box aside, “I see.”

Reo picked up the plastic bag wrapped bread, opened it and brought the yellow meronpan to Nagi’s cheek, “I’ll feed you, okay?”

Nagi frowned gently and turned his face away, “No. Chewing is tiring.”

Pursing his lips in frustration, Reo withdrew the meronpan from Nagi’s face, and said sullenly, “Then what should I do, chew it and feed it to you?”

“…” Nagi looked at the capital GAME OVER on the screen for a moment before putting the phone down and asking, “Is that okay?”

“Eh?” Reo didn’t react at once.

“A big help, Reo.” Nagi looked up at Reo and nodded at him. His big eyes, which were usually devoid of energy, were now full of sincerity and didn’t contain any jokes, “Thanks.”

He is asking me to chew it and feed him? Huh? Reo was shocked.

“Oh…Okay.” In excessive shock, Reo stammered in response.

Reo looked down at the meronpan in his hand. The round shape, the soft elasticity that could be felt even through the plastic paper, the golden crust giving off the bread’s characteristic aroma. This should be a piece of bread that was quite delicious. Reo gulped, but not from appetite.

Nagi who sat aside watched him quietly and waited patiently. Of course he would be patient. He wished not to eat it. But Reo wanted him to eat. Reo closed his eyes and, with a determination, lowered his head and opened his mouth to bite down.

The tingling sensation of the sugar on the taste buds spread through Reo’s mouth, and the bread was as fluffy and sweet as it looked, in the upper-middle range of pre-made bread.

It was quite tasty. Reo glanced at Nagi, who still had his eyelids drooping, looking half asleep and uninterested. This guy. Reo gritted his teeth, physically.

As he reached the second half of the chewing process, Reo inevitably began to feel nervous. Despite his best efforts to control it, his saliva continued to flow uncontrollably until it became much more than it needed to be. Reo did his best to swallow the excess. The meronpan in his mouth was mashed between his teeth and then soaked sufficiently to become a complete puddle of starchy paste. Do I really have to feed this to the Nagi? Reo’s eyelids twitched.

Nagi was still looking at him, a vague urgency in his vision. He wasn’t expecting anything, was he? Reo turned his face away from Nagi’s gaze.

…it's about time anyway. Reo had already spent more time than necessary on chewing and had to brace himself to move on to the next stage.

Another question crossed his mind: how? How about a spoon… However, the thought of seeing the mess in his mouth with his own eyes and then watching it being brought to Nagi’s mouth made Reo feel a wave of nausea go straight to his head. No, definitely not with a spoon.

Although directly using his mouth was essentially the same with using the spoon, and even with an additional element of kissing, Reo decided not to think too deeply about it and just to follow his instincts.

Without a word, Reo reached out, pressed the back of the neck of the Nagi and pulled him towards him. Nagi was obediently at his mercy, tilting his head up, and opened his mouth as Reo’s lips touched his.

It was like feeding a baby bird. Reo remembered a documentary he had seen before, parent birds fed their young like this, shoving food into the chicks’ mouths with their beaks. By the way, the mother wolf would spit out the chyme in her stomach for the cubs to eat. Reo made a desperate comparison between himself and the animals.

Without any hesitation, Nagi gulped down the batter that Reo fed to him, along with an excess of saliva. In fact, their lips were only pressed together for a short time, but by the time they parted, a few sticky strands of silk were already tugging at the corners of their mouths. Ah… it is a good thing that I don’t have any contagious disease. Reo’s mind had drifted to another dimension.

“Well.” Nagi blinked, “It feels quite easy.”

I should have swallow it for you. Reo grumbled in his mind, but couldn’t help but feel happy because he had satisfied Nagi, “Really? That’s great.”

“Yeah.” Nagi nodded, “Let’s do it again, Reo."

“Oh! Okay.” Reo smiled and answered. He took a big bite of the bread, and chewed it willingly for his partner.

A meronpan is not very big, and can be finished in a very short time.

“We can do this afterwards.” Nagi stuck out his tongue and licked his wet lip. Then he reached for his phone and opened the game app.

“Sure.” Reo agreed immediately, picking up the bento box that he had left aside, and with a flash of light, “Ah, well, now you can have anything, right? I’ll bring you lunch tomorrow. It’ll be well-chewed, I promise.”

“Okay.” Nagi answered without a look up. The game had already started.

Reo was glad he had found a good method to make Nagi have his meal.

  The end.

This extent of chewing must make digest work less, too! You win a lot, Nagi!

And you won’t get away if Reo gets any sick!

  ~In Blue Lock~

“Ah… Chewing is such a hassle…” Nagi sprawled lazily on the table with a fork in his hand.
Although Reo couldn’t see the Nagi’s face, he knew the guy must be looking in his direction. As much as he wanted to meet Nagi’s whining, there was really nothing he could do.

Reo sighed and rubbed the fluffy white head, saying helplessly, “You know we can’t do it here, right? Just be a good boy, and try to eat by yourself.”

“…” Nagi puffed up his cheeks and chewed the beef in his mouth slowly.

“…Even think it bothersome to chew.” On the side, Zantetsu pushed his glasses, “How does he service so far.”

“It is called ‘survive’, baka Zantetsu.” Reo laughed, and patted Nagi’s head, “Just by the bagged jelly, and ......” and I chew for him.

“… and blenders and stuff.” Reo almost bit his tongue and let the cat out of the bag.

“Blenders? Is that really working?” Zantetsu furrowed his brows and narrowed his eyes, wary, “Don’t fool me.”

“It works, it works.” Reo responded with certainty, as he fiddled with Nagi’s ear between his fingers.

It was probably a dozen times more feasible than chewing for him. Reo was a bit confused why he hadn’t thought of it before.

The end. For real this time.
