Insomnia

Summary:

"“You know what would probably help me sleep?” She blurted without really thinking.

“Hm?”

“Cuddles.”

“Is this your way to ask me for cuddles?” It was Chan’s turn to tease her. “You could’ve just asked me directly, Y/N.”"

Notes:

I wrote this for Chan's birthday. This type of scenario is something that often plays on my mind and usually helps me fall asleep. I hope you guys like it. Enjoy the reading ~

Work Text:

“Ah, can’t sleep either?” Chan’s soft voice sounded behind Y/N and she jumped on the sofa, almost dropping her phone. “Sorry.” He chuckled. “Didn’t mean to scare you.”

“It’s okay.” The girl answered, a shy smile adorning her face. “I just didn’t expect anyone to come here this late.” She explained, admiring how soft he looked in the night hours, with his curly hair, bare face, sleeveless black shirt and a black pair of shorts.

“Yeah, me too.” Chan chuckled again, rubbing the back of his neck. “Can I sit?” He pointed to the spot next to her on the sofa.

“Chan.” Y/N rolled her eyes. “This is your dorm, remember?”

“I know, but I thought you might want to be alone.” He shrugged. And didn’t sit, obviously waiting for her answer.

“Yes, Christopher.” She said with a teasing tone and he blushed, just a little bit. “You can sit.”

“Thank you.” Chan sat right next to her and she tried not to focus too much on his strong legs and even stronger arms.

“You’re welcome.” The girl gave him a small curtsy and felt really proud of herself when he laughed, bright and beautiful.

They sat next to each other, basking in their warmth for a couple minutes of comfortable silence.

“I have insomnia too.” Y/N’s voice sounded fragile as she shared the information with Chan.

“Oh?” He looked at her, at how she was staring at her own hands, not looking at him. “I’m sorry. I know how much he sucks.” And she knew. She knew he did know.

“Yeah. I know.” Her low chuckle made his heart swell. “I wish you didn’t.” And then she turned her head, meeting her gaze with his. “If there’s anyone in this world who deserves to rest, it’s you.” The small smile on Y/N’s lips, along with her honest words, made Chan feel like his heart suddenly got ten times bigger than his chest.

“Thank you.” The boy managed to say after swallowing the lump in his throat.

“Oh?” Y/N’s smile turned into a teasing smirk. “I thought I would have to say more to get you to agree with me.” Chan tried — and failed — to fight the blush that was taking over his cheeks.

“I-I mean. I’m too tired to disagree with you, I guess.”

“Bummer. I had a whole speech ready in my mind.” They both laughed together at that.

Y/N leaned her head back, resting it on the back of the sofa, eyes closed. She felt Chan doing the same, their arms now touching.

“You know what would probably help me sleep?” She blurted without really thinking.

“Hm?”

“Cuddles.”

“Is this your way to ask me for cuddles?” It was Chan’s turn to tease her. “You could’ve just asked me directly, Y/N.”

“N-No!” She opened her eyes in shock and looked at him, only to see the biggest teasing smile she ever saw on his pretty pink lips. “Tease.” The girl muttered, a pout on her own lips that made him laugh softly.

“Sorry, sorry. I couldn’t resist.” His eyes were shining so much in the dark living room that Y/N felt like she was staring at real stars.

“It’s okay.” She playfully rolled her eyes. “I totally deserved that one.”

“So, cuddles?” Chan asked after a couple seconds of them staring at each other.

“Are you offering? ‘Cause this sounded a lot like an offer.” Y/N teased, expecting a laugh. Instead, the girl got another sight of a blushing Chan.

“W-Well, if you want to. I think it would help me sleep as well.”

The small and surprised oh Y/N let out made him get even more nervous, but before he could say anything else, the girl answered:

“Sure.” And then proceeded to get up.

“What?” Chan seemed stunned. “Really?”

“Why not?” She asked. “You want to. I want to. Seems like a great idea to me.”

“Oh. Y-Yeah, okay.” And he got up too.

Y/N let him go first and they both walked silently to his room — and, if anyone asked whether she used that opportunity to stare at his ass or not, she would deny it.

The purple lights in his bedroom were so pretty that she could feel herself relaxing just by watching them twinkle.

“Y/N?” The boy called her and she had the feeling that it wasn’t the first time.

“Hm? Sorry, was distracted by the lights. Did you say something?” Chan gave a small chuckle and rubbed his bare arm, a light shade of pink still painting his cheeks.

“I asked if you wanna be the small spoon or the big spoon.” His shy voice almost made her coo.

“Do you have a preference?”

“I, uh, I wanna be the small spoon, if you don’t mind.”

“Sounds great to me, Channie.” Y/N answered with a sincere smile.

And so they moved to his bed. Y/N was wearing a big hoodie and a pair of leggings, since she used to feel more cold in the night than the boy. She laid down on her side first and lifted one of her arms as an invitation. Still feeling pretty shy, Chan laid down next to her, his back pressed on her chest, and sighed in content to feel her arms around his waist. He felt safe next to her, and she felt exactly the same. After he got comfortable, Y/N pulled the soft comforter to cover them.

“Comfy?” She asked, wanting to be sure the boy was comfortable.

“Mhm.”

“Good.” And it was. Really, really good.

Faster than both of them were expecting, they started to feel drowsy. Y/N was about to fall asleep when she heard Chan’s voice softly calling her name.

“Hm? Yes?”

“Thank you.”

“For what? You were the one who offered the cuddles.”

“Just… thank you.”

“Well,” She snuggled closer to him, feeling him relaxing against her body. “You’re welcome, Chan.”

They both fell asleep right after. It was the best sleep they had in a long time.
