    “Mm… sounds fake,” Denji says, absently picking at an old scab on his nose, “Like a movie or s’umthin’.”
    “It’s not," Aki, growls, "My life isn’t ‘Terminator,’ moron.”
    “What’s ‘Terminator’?”
    After a brief pause, Aki heaves a laboured sigh, smoke billowing from his nostrils like the dragon devil they just killed. He points his cigarette at the gaping, slimy mouth of the deceased creature.
    “Just shut up and get inside before the yakuza come back.”

    Aki dies and wakes up about a year before the main timeline began - with all his memories (mostly) intact.
    In an attempt to alter their fates, he secretly seeks out his former roommates before Makima becomes aware of their existence.
