Chaos and kitchen talk

Summary:

Izuku Midoriya is fucked he was hungry and too distracted to hear the pro hero arrive.

Or how Vigilante Midoriya got adopted by Eraserhead (sort of).

Notes:

This is the first fanfic I have written that I am decently proud of so I am posting it. It has been beta read by Grammarly (free edition) because English is not my first language so I wanted to be sure of what I was writing.

Work Text:

Izuku Midoriya Chaos is fucked. He has been a vigilante for as long as he can remember (which is really since he’s turn 12) and he has always managed to avoid the authorities very well.

That was until tonight when he was so hungry (yes being a vigilante doesn’t pay the bills, unfortunately) that he didn’t think and broke into the first house he found and started eating. He was so hungry that he didn’t hear the inhabitant coming home and going into the kitchen.

Worst of all, he figured out too late that he was in Eraser Head’s house. One thing you should know about Izuku Midoriya Chaos is that he does not like adults and the authorities because they are all corrupted by the world, however, he always has had a fascination and respect for Eraser head, they also may or may not have interacted and collaborated in the past. This is why Chaos feels a bit humiliated by being seen in such a desperate situation.

Eraser head seems a bit annoyed at first and Chaos' first instinct is to run away but the adult acts quicker (this is why Izuku Chaos respects him; he knows Chaos enough to know what he wants to do like he cares about Izuku Chaos) he respectfully lets him put his mask back on and sight:

“Stay here kid. It’s fine.”

He takes the food from Chaos’ hands and starts calmly cooking something.

“When was the last time you actually ate a warm meal?” he asks Chaos with some bit of worry tainting his usually expressionless voice. “And no boxed ramen and to-go Bentos don’t count.” He adds “You’re a kid you need to eat actual food to be healthy!”

Chaos laughs a bit.

“Eraser do I have to remind you that I am not a child, also hello! I’m a vigilante I get injuries that can’t be fixed by eating or do you not remember last week? Also, I don’t have money so eating “actual food” is going to be difficult for me unless I steal it and like I don’t have a stove or a bed as a matter of fact.” Replies Chaos while kicking his feet like a child sitting on the kitchen counter.

Eraser sighs and mutters something about 15 and still a child. He so badly wants to ask the kid to stay with him but he knows that he does not trust him enough to show him his face or with his name so why would he stay here if Eraser asked him?

“You could go to a youth shelter; you’d be fed and have a bed and you wouldn’t have to steal from people’s fridges. You could also apply for a hero school some still take students mid-semester.”

“Well, I can’t do either of those things because I am quirkless and I’ve tried youth shelter in the past let’s just say that this is not for me.” Chaos said in response looking a bit annoyed.

Eraser nodded and let the silence settle for a bit to see if the kid wanted to leave but did not move.

“Plus, quirkless people can’t become heroes no teachers want to help them.” Izuku Chaos continued quietly and sadly.

This breaks Eraser’s heart and makes him realize why the kid is wary of people adults. He can’t control himself and hugs Chaos who is too surprised to do anything. Finally, when he pulls away, he sees Chaos’ troubled look and says:

“I would, you have great potential to be one of the best heroes ever and it would be a shame to waste it because you don’t have a quirk.”

This seems to move the kid so much that he takes off his mask and removes his hood to reveal a messy green-haired boy with freckles and green eyes. He lunges to hug Eraserhead Aizawa Shouta and says: “Izuku!”

“What?” replies Eraser confused.

“My name is Izuku!” Chaos/Izuku replies still hugging tightly his hero.

“Okay, Izuku, you probably already know because you are brilliant but I’m Aizawa Shouta.”

He gives back the hug with less force than the kid and adds.

“Would you want to live with me?”

The kid nods eagerly and Aizawa laughs. They leave the kitchen and head towards the living room to eat dinner on the sofa leaving Chaos’ mask there for now.
