The door slammed shut from the force exerted by the pro hero. Dynamight removed his black combat boots leaving them lazily strewn across the floor by the door. His keys hit the granite counters with a harsh clang as he moved towards his fridge, grabbing a beer from the door and slamming it as he moved towards the sofa in the living room.

The silence of the empty apartment hit him harder than normal. The empty apartment reminding him of all the years spent pushing people away. Never finding someone worthy of his love. His failed date tonight emphasizing the loneliness that followed him everywhere he went. The date had been a failure from the start, some lame extra he’d met on a dating app Kaminari and had forced him to join. He could tell from the start that she was after his money, insisting on a lavish restaurant and expensive dinner. Katsuki had never had much luck dating, with his long hours and high salary everyone he’d tried dating were either after the money or weren’t satisfied with the demanding hours of his job. Sulking in the plush fabric of his couch, Bakugou took another swig of his beer, considering giving up on the dating scene all together. After years of trying he’s only ever pushed people away with his challenging personality and lack of trust towards others. It wasn’t worth the hassle of failed date after failed date-
A gentle knock resonated through the apartment pulling Katsuki from his less than positive trail of thought and drawing his attention to his front door. Confusion drew his brows together as he wondered who could possibly be stopping by at this hour. A second knock resonates off the wood door.
Bakugou scoffed, pulling himself up from the couch and heading towards the door. His hand rested on the doorknob pulling it open. He relaxed as he recognized the bright red hair of the man who’d been with Bakugou since high school. His eyes trailed over the redhead, taking in the red of his eyes and the soft smile that rested gently on the man's lips, hiding his spiky teeth that matched his hair so perfectly. Katsuki didn’t even notice the way his expression softened as he gazed at the boy, a small smile soften his expression. A smile that when unnoticed by katsuki himself.
“Hey man, I heard about your date and thought I'd stop by. I stopped by that store nearby and grabbed dinner and some snacks, thought we could maybe watch a movie to help cheer you up!” Kirishima offered, smiling at the blond as he held up two plastic bags one filled with a variety of snacks, the other was decorated with the logo of Katuki’s favourite ramen place. He’d mentioned it was his favourite when they passed it during patrol one day. The blond was surprised he’d remembered that small piece of information.``So.. Can I come in?’
Bakugou blinked, realizing he was still standing there staring, his body blocking the way into his apartment. Scoffing he stepped away from the doorway, allowing Kirishima to enter. Dumping the bags onto the counter and beginning to pull everything out Kirishima looked back over his friend. A wide smile showcasing his spiky teeth as he looked over his shoulder. “I got a subscription to this new streaming service recently, thought we could chill and watch some of your favourites while we eat.”
Bakugou watched his friend from his place by the door, he watched as Kirishima unpacked the ramen he'd bought. the smell of spicy ramen wafted through the apartment. Extra spicy, just as he liked it. Warmth filled Bakugou's chest as he watched the man who's been by his side since high-school pulled out bags on Bakugou's favourite candies, placing them on the table in the living room. He returned to the kitchen, placing the warm bowl of ramen gently into his calloused hands, their finger brushing sending a jolt through the blond's arm and the gentle smile that etched into his best friend's tan skin brought a small smile to his lips as-well.
Following Kirishima to the couch, he flopped himself down next to the red head, much closer than he'd intended but he made no effort to move over. Their thighs brushed against each other as Kirishima reached over to grab the remote from the coffee table.
"You feelin’ like Legally Blond or James Bond?" Kiri asked, looking over to glance at the blond. Bakugou stared into his eyes for a moment. Had they always been that vibrant shade of red? He pondered before shrugging, allowing Kirishima to pick. A move that brought a large smile to the taller man's face, a smile Bakugou felt quite proud of causing. Wait what? Since when has he cared about making the extra's around him happy? A part of him knew Kirishima wasn't just some extra though. You don't call the man who's been with you through some of the hardest moments in your life an extra. Kirishima had been with him through the defining moments of his life. During the fall of All Might, Kirishima had spent weeks with Bakugou, convincing him it wasn't his fault and training with him when the anger became too much. He'd encouraged bakugou to create his own agency, one he now proudly shared with the man. He'd comforted Bakugou through the end of his first serious relationship, even convincing him of all the reasons he'd deserved someone better. No kirishima was way more then some extra, he was his best friend, his coworker, his partner. Suddenly all the pieces began to fit together. he finally knew the reasoning behind the fluttering butterflies in his stomach whenever he made kiri smile and the smile that Kirishima's rumbling laugh caused. Suddenly it all made sense..
"Hey Katsuki, you good?" Kiri asked, concern clear in his eyes as he shifted to look at the blond. "We can do something else if this isn't helping, go train maybe?"
"No. This is perfect" Bakugou responded, shifting his hand to wrap around the other man's hand. Kirishima smiled softly and squeezed Katsuki's hand. "This is perfect.."
