December 24th 2019, 9:45 pm,
3rd person POV:
It was Christmas eve, the first actually Christmas eve after the war.
Lucy was outside sitting on the double decker proch swing, since the war was over she didn't really have that much to brood about so she would just get lost in thought looking at the sky.
Her thoughts were interuped by the opening of the back door, her head turned to see what or who had opened that door. Emmet stood in the doorway, also looking at his girlfriend.
"Hey Lucy!" Emmet said still standing in the doorway. He then stepped out of the doorway just a bit before continuing, "Mind if I sit with you?"
Lucy then moved herself to the side of the porch swing to let her boyfriend sit beside her.
Emmet then sat next to her, she noticed that he kept his right arm behind his back.
The two then sat in silence for a minute and a half before the silence was broken.
"It's really nice outside, it's sad it's not snowing though." Emmet said,
"When does it ever snow here?" Lucy responded.
"It's snowed a bit last year, remember?"
Emmet was right, Christmas 2018, in Apocalypseburg, it did in fact snow a bit.
"Point made." Lucy said earning a chuckle from Emmet, to which he then received a smrik which turned into a soft smile from Lucy.
"Hey, I actually wanted to umm, I guess give you something." Emmet said as his laughter died down.
"Ok?"
"Close your eyes." Emmet said with some excitement hinted in his voice.
Lucy then closed her eyes, confused about what was about to happen.
"Ok, you can open your eyes now."
So she did, when she opened her eyes she saw her love holding a small pale blue box with a white ribbon bow on top.
She took a minute to admire the gift before taking it into her own hands.
"When I was a kid, one Christmas eve tradition we had was me and my siblings were allowed to open a few gifts early and I wanted to continue that tradition." Emmet said.
Lucy smiled softly at her boyfriend's words before she started to take off the ribbon off the box. After the ribbon was off the box she then took the lid off the box to reveal a glimmering gift.
Inside the box was a necklace. It had a silver chain with a sapphire stone attached to it. The jewelry sparkled and shined in the moonlight.
"I saw that necklace and the sapphire gem reminded me of your eyes the night we met." Emmet said slightly blushing.
Lucy's eyes in from far away or in the daylight looked to be pitch black but in the moonlight her eyes were a beautiful shade of blue that resembled a sapphire.
"Ems, this is beautiful, thank you." Lucy said, she then carefully took the necklace out of the box to put it on herself.
Emmet then looked at her once the necklace was around her neck and felt like he fell in love once again. He was at a loss for words, astonished by her beauty with the complement of the necklace and the moonlit back porch.
"Ems, you ok? Your just staring at me and it's starting to become weird and awkward. " Lucy said with concern.
"I'm sorry, it just. I feel like I've fallen in love all over again! Have I ever told you how pretty you are and that I love you?" Emmet said with a now very visible blush on his face.
"Every day love, every day." Lucy said, she then leaned over to Emmet and gave him a quick kiss, causing him to almost fall off the couch.
"Anyways we should probably head to bed, knowing unikitty and the fact that tomorrow is Christmas. She'll probably want to wake up both up early." Lucy continued from her last statement, she then started to take the necklace off and swiftly put it back in the box.
"Ya, we probably should." Emmet said waiting for Lucy to finish putting the necklace back in the box before picking her up in a bridal carry, lucy quietly yelped at this action. Sure he's picked her up before, and yet it always happens when she's least expecting it.
"I can get to bed on my own two feet you know."
"I know."
"Then can you put me down?"
"Nah."
Lucy smirked that this response and let's her boyfriend continue with his romantic antics.
But what they don't see, a single snowflake falls followed by many more.
