Work Text:
Choi San, a tall cutie and his best friend Wooyoung who can make you laugh every second. You couldn’t miss them in the hallway every break they could get out of the classrooms. San loved Wooyoung's laugh and the way how loud he was. For San, Woo was love at first sight - I mean friendly love of course (or not?). As an introvert type he was too shy to even say hi to him. Small looks from the other side of class were there on a daily basis. Wooyoung felt them all the time but didn’t care, sometimes he turned to look at a boy staring at him but San quickly turned his head or started doing something. One day San didn’t turn his head and their eyes met, Wooyoung was the first to break the contact.
That day Wooyoung pulled San to an empty classroom pinning him to a wall, “what is your problem Choi San?” San stood there silently looking into his eyes, in a slight shock he knew his name.
“I-I don't have a problem!” San quickly turned his eyes on a blackboard.
Wooyoung sighed and pulled out of him “why are you staring at me all the time? I don’t bite. If you want to talk you can just start,” Woo smiled with small sparkles in his eyes.
“If I had the courage,” San laughed a bit nervously and gave him a small smile.
And that is how an extroverted Wooyoung adopted an introverted San, that is how their story begins. They met every morning sharing news about games, music and they continued in the classroom. Many students talked about them as a married couple, they argued but five minutes later they were besties making fun of each other again. Many could be jealous about their friendship, but they didn’t know the boys' feelings.
It wasn’t long after they started talking that San found out about his feelings for Wooyoung. He never felt like it, and there was nobody with whom he could talk. He hated how he was feeling when Wooyoung was talking to others, especially one boy. He knew they knew each other from middle school, he knew Yeonjun was a good person but he felt hatred towards him. Wooyoung smiled more when they were with him than if they were just alone. He hated the feelings but couldn't get rid of them even after Wooyoung was dating a girl. That time, he cried a lot, even skipped some days in school, and Wooyoung? He was worried about him a lot.
“Are you dating San or me?” was the question which made a click in Wooyoung. He did not love the girl, he did not even have feelings for her. After that sentence his eyes were full of tears. “Can I be honest with you?” Wooyoung looked at the confused girl, but then she just smiled and nodded. After almost a two hour mental breakdown, Wooyoung accepted his feelings. He had feelings for San, a strong ones. He started talking more with his childhood friend Yeonjun which made him suspicious even to him. One day they talked and Yeonjun was all happy supporting him.
Both boys knew they could tell about their feelings to each other because it would change and may destroy their friendship.
‘woosanie I have a flight soon. Can we please meet at the bus station in about a half an hour??’ San sent a message to Woo with a throbbing heart. It was a month after their graduation and he was leaving for the United States to go to university. He wanted to talk to him since the graduation day but Wooyoung was busy with family business and barely had time to text.
The bus station was crowded, he hated crowded places. Looking around him he saw a blonde hair boy hopping up and down until their eyes met.
Both boys were nervous with things to say. Woo ran into his arms and hugged tightly, “I am so sorry I couldn’t spend more time with you!” Woo sobbed snuggling his nose to Sans neck.
“What can I do with you,” San laughed a bit trying to pull his tears back.
“I want something to tell you, but you can start first, we have time,” Woo pulled out and smiled at him holding onto his hoodie with one hand. He loved the bare and sleepy face of San. His eyes were shining even when he didn’t sleep all night, but now, they were teary which was breaking Wooyoung's heart.
“We have two minutes, Woo, I will be quick,” San smiled with tears on his cheeks. “You remember the day when we started talking, I do remember it like it was yesterday and I can’t forget about it, because it has changed my life. Meeting you was the best that could have ever happened to me,” San smiled, wiping his tears and looking at the clock. “Ah we don’t have much more time,” he grabbed his bags, “I just wanted to tell you Wooyoung. I love you, I always loved you and I always will. I hid my feelings for too long and now is the time where I can say it to you,” San gave him a big smile pressing his lips in a short kiss onto Wooyoungs, “wait for me,” was the last thing Wooyoung heard from San.
He hated those words from that time, when he opened his eyes nobody was there. His heart was breaking and tears were coming down, “I love you too San.”
---------
“The president Jung Woooyung has arrived at the salon,” a man in black suit tells his colleague in the earphone. Wooyoung in his oreo hair and white suit entered a room full of paparazzis. The young CEO of a well known company was now in New York presenting a new project. Five years made him a different person. He was just working, trying to forget about San and his broken heart.
They didn’t contact each other. San knew about Wooyoung's career, and he was proud of him. Couple times he had prepared a message, but he never sent it. He lied to himself thinking Woo already forgot about him, both of boys think that, but both were wrong.
Wooyoung was in New York already for a week, tonight was the only time he had for himself. He was facetiming with Yeonjun who was in Korea. Wooyoung was alone and Yeojun was the only person with whom he could talk freely. There were times where they talked for a whole time, both of them were then sleepy and not able to live the next day.
“Humh you have near a bar, please, grab some casual clothing and go! I need to sleep and you have to drink,” Yeonjun looked dead into Wooyoung's eyes. Wooyoung looked at him all surprised, but after ten minutes he was standing in the elevator in black hoodie and cap. He got out and headed his way to the street Yeojun told him. At the entrance he got a purple paper bracelet. Inside it wasn’t crowded but not empty, loud music shocked him for a bit but when his ears got used to it he went to a bar ordering something to drink.
He was glad no one could recognize him. “Where the fuck is Choi?” were the words from a bartender which grabbed Wooyoung’s attention, but he let it go thinking he misheard. What would be the probability he would meet him here, in New York, in a small bar. If San left to Philadelphia for university, he would probably be there. After some minutes he grabbed his drink leaving a bigger tip to sit down in some more private seats.
“Olala first tip and I just came here?” Blondie laughed looking at the money some man left smiling at his colleague bartender. “You wish, San! Where have you been so long, huh? You are 15 minutes late!” Mikey yelled at him through the music grabbing the money.
“I’m sorry, I must have waited for Kai to come home from the press conference, because he forgot his keys,” San smiled, giving him a smooch to cheek. Mikey just shook his head ordering him to make orders and then bring them to different tables.
Wooyoung was scanning the people enjoying themselves. He put down his cap and hoodie because of the warm air. Some minutes after that one blue taste-tube shaped glass appeared. “Oh sorry, I did not order this!”
“I know, that man ordered it for you,” the bartender who was first at the bar pointed at a red-haired, masculine man who smiled at Woo. “Oh, thank you,” Woo smiled lightly back at him.
“San! Table four got an order for full whisky and triple purpleys! Go! Now!” Mikey yelled at him. San did as he was said to.
“Was he here other days?” a red-haired man smiled at San who just brought them drinks nodding his head on the oreo-hair head looking at the taste-tube. San looked at that side and just chuckled, “I will grab this one and I will bring a new one, Rogey,” San grabbed a purple taste-tube such as oreo-hair, going his way.
“Hi lost puppy, those are not drugs do not worry,” San sat down on the other side of the table. “Oh shit you scared me!” Wooyoung looked at the person in front of him, he couldn’t recognize the face and just looked at the same glass he was holding. “Yeah, I thought so, but I don’t wanna give false hope to the man,” Woo shrugged his shoulders looking at the red-hair who had in his lap some other man, “okay nevermind.”
“Oh this is from Rogey? That dumbass, he wants to flirt with everyone,” San shook his head. “What if we change them? Blue ones are not great like purples to be honest!”
Wooyoung looked at him and just smiled, “whatever,” they switched their glasses.
“Cheers!” Both of them looked deep inside their eyes and drank the sweet alcohol. After some seconds San stretched on top of the table kissing the unknown man. Their tongues met and Wooyoung's mouth was full of the blue drink. Wooyoung’s eyes got bigger immediately, pushing him away. “What the actual fuck?” He wiped his lips. “Ah, I’m sorry but I can’t drink when I’m at work, enjoy your night,” San winked at him leaving with both taste-tube glasses and Woo’s empty one from previous drink.
“What-” Wooyoung looked after him just so he could just lose him in the crowd. Two fingers touched his lips, he felt the same pain like he did 5 years ago. He slowly stood up grabbing his hoodie making his way through the sweaty dancing bodies to the bar where there was a bit better light. “Welcome back,” Mickey smiled at him, “how was the bluey?” he said with a smirk knowing exactly what happened. “Can I get two purple ones? But from the other bartender?”
“Okay, but give him some minutes he is at the tables now,” Mickey smiled and gave him the same drink he ordered before.
“Hey San! This gentleman wants double purpleys!” Wooyoung heard after some minutes from Mickey and his heart stopped. ‘San? My San? Here? Now?’ Wooyoung raised his head just to look at blond San with an angel face looking at him. “S-San?” Wooyoung's mouth opened and his eyes teared up.
“Yeah I’m San,” he laughed, not caring, but after some seconds looking at Woo his eyes got bigger, “Wooyoung? I-Is it you?” San asked in korean.
“It is me! H-How are you?” Wooyoung answered also in Korean, giving him a smile with tears in eyes. San looked around him and then at Mikey, he walked to him whispering something to him. Mikey then looked at Wooyoung and nodded. “Come with me,” San looked at a slightly confused Wooyoung who followed him outside from some back door.
San was staring at Wooyoung for a few minutes on a cold night. “This brings back memories from high school,” Woo laughed a bit, wanting to start a conversation. San just nodded, still observing his face, “I just don’t understand how I could not recognize you, you did not change at all. Yes you get hella prettier but you got all the face features from the past.”
“San we hadn’t seen each other for 5 years, not fifty,” Wooyoung laughed which made San smile, he cupped his cheek with one hand and looked deep into his eyes. Woo quickly blinked, “do you typically feed your customers with alcohol kisses?” San laughed and wiped fallen eyelash out of his cheek, “ah no, I just have a feeling you would like it? And as I said, I can't drink when I’m at work.”
Wooyoung just nodded looking into his eyes, “you could call me San, I was worried about you.” San just laughed, lowering his hand, “sorry that I was hurt and not knowing you would like to even see me after that? Sorry that I kissed you, I shouldn't have done it then, I shouldn't have told you that I love you, it was selfish of me.”
“Oh shut up,” Wooyoung mumbled, grabbing him by the collar of shirt and kissing him softly, “you broke my heart Choi San, I was in love with you for so long and I still am,” Woo whispered into his lips resting his forehead onto San’s. “Ah I’m sorry really- wait what?” San looked at him all confused, “yo-you were in love with me?”
Wooyoung just sighed and chuckled, “I am still Sannie, but it’s okay if you have moved on, I’m happy for you” he smiled knowing he is not. San just quickly shook his head, “I move on maximum to buying a cat to have some affection,” he laughed and held his hands. “Can you give me your address where you are staying? I want to talk to you but my shift won’t end before morning.”
Wooyoung pulled out his wallet and then a hotel room card, “the big hotel near, fifteen floor room 1458, please just enter and wake me up.” San smiled, putting the card at the back of his phone inside a case, “okay mister CEO, wait for me,” he winked turning to the door.
“Don’t say it,” Wooyoung’s heart skipped a beat. Grabbing his hand he pulled him to himself hugging him tightly, “don’t say it ever again. I don’t wanna lose you again.” San smiled and hugged him around waist, “I’m sorry Woo.” Wooyoung just nodded snuggling to him, “wait but what about your cat? You can't let them be alone!”
San laughed, “don’t worry about her, Kai will take care of her,” he said, still hugging him. “Kai? F-friend of yours?” Woo asked, looking into his eyes. San just nodded, “he is a journalist for one small newspaper, I was late because of him today, the press conference where he was got a bit longer because of the host, he was bitchy he said.”
“Excuse me? I was not bitchy! Am I bitchy when I do not answer question about my private life on a fucking press conference about hotel project?” Wooyoung pulled out looking a bit pissed, “tell him that I’m sorry I have no life to talk about,” he kicked some small rock to the trash can.
San was looking at him with raised eyebrows and a smile, he kinda loved pissed Wooyoung. “You can tell him later when you will come to see kitty cat,” he smiled cupping his cheek once again pressing his lips onto his. Wooyoung just mumbled something, kissing him back.
The doors with which they came out opened, “I don’t want to bother you lovebirds but we need you to help San, right now,” one other colleague of San said to them with a straight face and fear in eyes. San grabbed Wooyoung hand and they got inside to a group of people yelling, Mikey looked at them with a broken lip. “Hey you okay?” Wooyoung immediately looked at him, starting to examine him to see if he had any more injuries. San approached the group and with security he tried to stop a fight between Rogey and another man.
San and the security man successfully throw the men from the bar, San was unlucky and got punched in the face. Both of them get back to the bar, security man making sure everybody was okay, not badly hurt. “Are you okay Mikey?” San looked at Mikey with Wooyoung taking care of his face. Wooyoung immediately turned to him. His eyes widened when he saw his already red eye, “why the fuck they punch you?” Wooyoung said in Korean and grabbed him by the chin, turning his head to have a better look.
“It is nothing I’m not used to,” San laughed, trying to turn his head back, but he couldn’t. “Don’t move,” Wooyoung pulled his hand asking Mikey where the ice was and slowly put it together with a cloth on his eye and cheek. “I will take care of that bastard,” Wooyoung mumbled, holding it gently with one hand and with the other one on San’s shoulder. Mikey just looked at them with a big smile, “nice to see somebody taking care of him, he always just cares about us.”
“Typical San,” Woo mumbled in English, looking him in the eyes. San just smiled like sunshine hugging him around waist. “Sir, do you know the name of the guy? Or someone who knows him?” Wooyoung looked at the security man. He just nodded scribbling something on paper, giving it to him, Wooyoung put it into his pocket and looked at San, slowly letting go of the ice-sack from his eye. “This will help for the time your shift ends, but when you feel it start swelling - nevermind I’m gonna stay here and look after you, then at the hotel I will give you some ointment,” Wooyoung gave him a small kiss on forehead.
San smiled like sunshine, closing his eyes, “one more,” he turned his head to point out his cheek. Wooyoung gave him a small kiss on the cheek, “I will look at Mickeys’ face,so you go back to work.”
“Pff.. I am hurt too!” San pouted going back to work, Wooyoung just shook his head going back to Mickey holding an ice-sack to his eye.
“How long have you two known each other?” Mickey looked at him with a small smile. “Ah, from high school in Korea, we were kind of best friends? And after graduation he left to uni in Philadelphia,” Wooyoung shrugged his arms and gently put some kind of disinfectant ointment on his wound.
“Ah yeah, we met there. I was helping him with English,” Mickey laughed, “who would go to America not knowing English well?”
“I was telling him the same! But he just wanted to leave,” Wooyoung mumbled and pouted, “wait, you know korean?”
“Ah yeah, I self-learned it at high school because of kpop,” Mickey said slowly in Korean, “I can read and I understand it, but speaking is a trouble,” continued in English.
“It’s good to be honest! Good job!” Wooyoung gave him a big smile, “I am shitty in English sometimes too, it’s just brain freeze.”
“Oh yeah, English is dumb,” Mickey laughed. They chatted for a few minutes until San didn’t come to them cursing at Mickey for slacking off and flirting.
As the San's shift ended Wooyoung was sleeping in the staff room on a couch they had there. San was checking up on him now and then making sure he is under the blanket and not cold.
“Woo~” San whispered to his ear after his shift ended and changed to his normal clothes.
Wooyoung just murmured something and slowly opened his eyes.
“Ah so cute like always,” San smiled like sunshine tucking Wooyoung's hair to his ear, “my shift ended so we can go.”
Wooyoung just nodded giving him a quick peck to his lips and got up. He interlocks their fingers and after saying goodbyes they left.
“You are too sleepy to even talk aren't you?” San laughed lovingly.
“Shut up you need to sleep too,” Wooyoung just glared at him.
After they arrived at the hotel room, Wooyoung immediately took his clothes off, changing into just sweatpants. San was looking at him from the hallway, smiling.
”You wanted to talk. I know Sannie, but I can't even think straight now because of the alcohol and sleepiness, so come here, we will sleep together and we will talk later,” Wooyoung came to him, dragging him by hand to the bed.
“Sleep together?” San smirked.
“Your horniness did not change,” Wooyoung shook his head in disbelief and tried taking his shirt off. If someone came to his room right now seeing unbuckling San's belt, they would have twisted thoughts.
“You know Woo, I could take my clothes off myself,” San smiled at him after they were already in bed. Wooyoung just mumbled something in 'yes, yes I know now sleep' and cuddled to him.
They often had sleepovers when they were younger. It did not matter if in Wooyoung's house or San's, they still slept together on one bed cuddling each other as San being the big spoon. It was the same now. San hugged him, giving him a gentle kiss on forehead and falling asleep with warmth coming from his friend's body.
Wooyoung woke up as the sun was shining in his eyes, he reached out for a remote controller and set it to pull down the blinds. After some seconds he realized someone was hugging him from behind and he froze, looked down on a hand around his waist and just relieved sighed when he saw a known ring.
San was cuddling his nose into his neck, one hand over his waist and one leg over his.
Wooyoung slowly turned to look at San’s puffy face and smiled even more. He gently caressed his cheek and gave him a gentle kiss on the lips. He was happy, truly happy. Wooyoung was looking at him for some more minutes until San’s hand slowly went down on Wooyoung’s ass.
“Oi!” Wooyoung looked at his hand and then into already opened San’s eyes which were a bit darker due to the dark in the room. “Morning bae,” he smiled, giving him a kiss on the forehead.
“Morning, but where did you hand get lost humh? Abusing my ass from morning already?” Wooyoung shook his head.
San just smirked and turned him under himself which made Wooyoung lightly squeak and grab his arms.
“G-god San you could have said something!” Wooyoung stuttered looking in his eyes. He just smiled and started putting kisses on his face slowly continuing on his neck. Wooyoung gasped and tilted his head so San had more space.
“So obedient,” San chuckled and continued giving kisses on one spot. Wooyoung cheeks were now red and he gently hit him in the arm, “s-stop it San!”
He just murmured something gently sucking on a skin over a pulsing vein which made Wooyoung moan and he immediately covered his mouth with his hand. San smiled against his skin and continued sucking until he made some small hickeys.
“Now you are mine,” San smiled after he pulled out looking at red Wooyoung biting his lip.
“You-you are not innocent how you were Sannie,” Wooyoung stuttered. San just laughed and kissed him on the lips, biting on his lower lip himself, “and you saw just my innocent side now,” he smirked. Wooyoung just shook his head with a smile. With all his strength he turned them so he is on top of him now sitting on his crotch with hands on his chest.
“I missed you San,” Wooyoung whispered looking deep in his eyes, “so much, you can’t even think. I tried to move on so badly but it was hard for me, you were my first true love… you are still my first true love,” he was smiling with tears in his eyes.
San pulled him down into a hug and gave him a kiss into his hair, “I missed you too Woo, so much even though I stalked your social media. I was so close to messaging you, but I didn’t want to bother with me thinking you moved on, you looked so happy with your friends, I didn’t want to pull out old memories, I didn’t want to hurt you.”
Wooyoung just sobbed snuggling to him even more, “I love you Sannie, please don’t ever leave me, I-I will figured out staying here for much longer so we can be together and-and one day we can come back to Korea,” he looked up with a little hopeful smile.
“I would be happy, but I don’t want to go home so soon, my parents are really mad at me for dropping out of school- and you know how they can be,” San looked at him with sad eyes. Wooyoung just nodded, “we will figure out something Sannie, I won’t leave you, never again.”
