I've walked in Fade, I dreamt away.
It took my sorrows, took my pain.
It felt so peaceful, so serene,
I saw the things I've never seen.
It brought me solace, my old friend.
I wished it never had to end.
But all things do. And I woke up
To be with those who wants to stop
The ancient evil. Then I stayed
And helped the one who needed aid.
She had the courage, had the heart.
She was so curious, so smart.
It felt so wrong and yet so right –
I knew she's worth my every fight.
She brought me solace, back again.
And I... was foolish. I'm to blame.
I walk the path of death and sorrow,
She fights for everyone's tomorrow.
I am the hated. Traitor. Liar.
She brings the hope. She lights the fire.
I knew that what we had was real –
She made me whole. She made me feel.
I found companionship and trust
But it was never meant to last.
I left her side. Got on my path.
I used the ancient magic craft.
Restored my powers and my strength.
It was beginning of the end.
I seek no solace anymore,
But former glory to restore.
She found me, yes. I knew she would.
And it reopened painful wound.
"You are The Wolf. The dread. The fear".
Her biggest nightmare was so near.
And yet she loved me. What a fate...
I would prefer disgust and hate
Because what I must do is hard –
I'll tear the world she knows apart.
I will rebuild it. Piece by piece.
It must be done. It’s not caprice.
My people will restore their glory,
Won’t be the end of our story.
She wore the mark that brought her pain,
I had to take it all away.
I took her hand. And took her heart.
It was the time for us to part…
“I’ll take no joy in what I’ll do,
My words of solace go to you.
My love. My soul. My only one.
Goodbye forever, my vhenan”.
I reached to kiss her one last time,
One last mistake, a shameful crime.
“I’ll find you, anyplace you’ll be.
We’ll be together – you and me”.
Those were the last words that she said:
“I love you, Solas, Wolf of Dread”.
I left alone. Got on my path,
Where’s only solitude and wrath.
I won’t forget her. Won’t. Not ever.
She’ll stay in dreams of mine forever.
The time for bitter end is nigh,
I almost hear the battle cries,
I almost hear the clank of swords.
And in the midst of it, of course…
Her voice. Like song, I hear her voice.
Is she by fate here? Or by choice?
“I found you, Solas”, then she sighs.
I blink. And dream escapes my eyes…
There’s no more solace. No more Solas.
