…
It was a miserable start to a new morning, The sky was a light depressing gray. The air was musky, breezing full of pain and sorrow. It was the day the numa’s found out one of the Mazaingo siblings had passed. More or less been killed,, Was none other than Jeraldy Mazaingo.
Jungle was the first to discover his body, finding him limp in some bushes while searching for berries in the thicket. His blood ran cold, showing no pulse or sign of life, the chest area on his body was stained with a dark vermillion color, stab wounds were marked in his lungs, the same amount in each one.
Everyone was grieving his death, while also terrified as no one knew who had done such a despicable act, Zakuro was especially sad about it, mainly comforting Jungle about his loss. Until it hit her, she hasn't seen Bachikin at all since his body was brought.
Jeraldy’s death must've been heart-breaking for her,,
Her very own brother’s life has been taken.
She couldn’t picture the unbearable pain and grief Bachikin is feeling. Though the more important question was..
Where was she?
She strayed away from Jungle when someone else stepped in to comfort him, following a desire path leading into a thick array of forestation.
…
Sounds of a calm flowing waterfall filled the silence in the viridescent trees.
A numa was sitting by the running waterfall, resting on top of some rocks. Her hot pink eyes gleaming through her shaded sunglasses as delicate tears run down her rosy cheeks.
Her brother's death impacted her severely, she's been with him since she was almost born. Jeraldy meant everything to her, they were siblings after all.
The crunching noise of leaves being stepped on interrupted her thinking, she turned her head around quickly to see who or what it might be.
It was none other than,,
Zakuro
It took her by surprise, how was she able to find where she was.
“Ah, Zakuro,, hello”
God this was awkward, what was she supposed to say to her?
“Hey..! I noticed you weren't in the group, are.. you feeling ok?”
Bachikin wiped her warm tears away with her hand, standing up to face Zakuro more directly.
“Hah,,. That’s a funny question bachi., not like my brother got murder or anything..,”
That comment hit a bit harder than it should’ve to Zakuro, maybe it wasn’t the best thing to ask in this situation.
“I’m incredibly sorry about your brothers loss, I know how heartbreaking it must've been-”
“No you don’t.”
Bachikin hissed back, an immediate response at that, this felt harder than it had to be,, she could’ve just accepted the pity, but the pain was unbearable, it hurt so much inside, Her own brother was killed, no one in the group could ever imagine the sorrowful feelings she had.
“No one can imagine how I feel right now, I doubt you can either..”
Zakuro was completely lost on what to say to the poor soul, she’s usually good at comforting people, but this time it felt different, more odd than usual..
“I know, I can’t feel or think about how much suffering you're going through, but I do feel like you need my company, the best I can do is at least listen..”
Bachikin kept silent, she stumbled her way over to Zakuro,
Dropping down hard on her feet, beginning to whimper and bawl her eyes out once again.
She could hear the grieve and pain coming out from her soft cries and whines.
“I,,- I just miss him sniff so much Zakuro!- It’s only been a few hours, but I feel like n,,nothing without my brother,,!!”
She was coughing her words out, choking on the last four words.
Zakuro kneels down onto Bachikins level, lifting her head up with her hand wiping away tears.
“It’ll be ok Bachikin, I promise, Just because he’s gone doesn't mean he’s not watching you from afar !”
“You,, you really think..t-that??”
She struggles on her words more, at least now she is a lot calmer.
“Of course I do,,. If I didn't mean it, why would I say it?”
Chuckling a little after her sentence, whatever she said seemed to help Bachikins mood lift up. Anything to keep her out of this poor state of hers.
Zakuro took Bachikins hand and lifted her up from the rocky soil beneath them. Giving a reassuring smile to tell her that everythings gonna be ok.
A small silence fell between them, Bachikin broke the silence they had by giving Zaluro a tight embrace. Tears yet again trickling down her cheeks, she just couldn’t stop crying, so many things were emotional.
Zakuro gave her pats on the back, caressing her head as he let her sob onto her shoulder.
“I,. I just wish I could see h-him again,,.”
. . .
“Oh don’t worry,,,”
“you will..”
“Wh-what-?”
Shink! The sound of a metal blade piercing through her back was heard. Cutting through her tissue, wine colored blood started to clot and pour out of the cut in her back.
Zakuro pulled the pink silver dagger out of the wound and pushed Bachikin onto the ground to keep her from clinging onto her.
She was helpless laying down on the hard cold dirt, her blood staining her clothes. Her mouth coughed up wads of blood harshly, as she gasped for air.
“Why,. w,why would you do this to me,,. W, was your plan really to k-kill off both of us?! Are you going for J,Jungle next??!”
Zakuro kept quiet, she didn’t wanna tell her anything, she didn’t need to. It’s not like killing them was that bad, she knows they can just regenerate and heal later.
She just kept watching Bachikin bleed out, coughing up blood constantly, she's weak now, not like she can do any harm. They just have to both wait until she enevidably dies in the game.
.. Yet,.. Zakuro did have sympathy for her,, she was tamer and more caring then Jeraldy,,. Maybe that’s why she was feeling bad about doing this.
“Y,,you’re a fucking monster Zakuro,..”
Zakuro slowly walked towards Bachikin, kneeling down yet again to her level, she lifted up her chin to get a better look at her helpless face, blood was stained on the side of her mouth from coughing.
Her finger lightly brushed the stained ruby blood from the side.
“I hope you know I didn’t wanna do this Bachikin, Really I do care for you,,. But your brother,,. He’s hurting us,.”
“What exactly are you,,. Trying to say,,??”
“What I’m saying is,.”
The blade she held in her right hand went into Bachikin’s neck, the tip of the blade hitting her spinal cord.
“I might as well take something of his..”
Life dropped from Bachikins eyes, the last of the remaining blood in her mouth flowed out, trickling down her lips onto Zakuro’s fingers.
Her natural depression dropped to an unsatisfied frown. What was she getting out of this.. Killing the main god’s sister,,. She couldn’t quite find a reason as to why this mattered.
It’s almost like guilt was finally getting to her for Bachikins death.
Zakuro then clinged onto Bachikin, whispering something that doesn’t seem to matter anymore.
“I’m sorry…”
