Chapter Text
Lucius misses Draco, not the Draco that would cower in corners when he walked into the room, or the Draco that would scream and cry for the latest broomstick. the one that came before them the one that would smile and laugh not at others but at the faces him and his love would pull when he would start to cry. he misses the Draco that died when they had to leave him upstairs with a psychotic werewolf who later took refuge in his home.the same home he killed him in.
he knows it's not his fault his son is like this he knows he did everything that he could, but he also knew he could have done better, and after 7 months in azkaban it came to light
"the house of malfoy excused from all charges due to evidence of the imperius curse being in play"
it was true, hard core truth we couldn't stop what happened we where under control under his control but dispite all this they still torture my son until he was nothing but an empty husk. trying to ring out every drop of information leaving him nothing like he used to. I never found out what they did to narccica. my beloved, my wife.
she killed herself with in a week of being released from the ministry. he misses her to. he must stay strong though, for Draco. in reality it was only him who was under the curse, but he tortured and beat his only son and wife into submission it had been like this ever since the beginning of the first war he had been under its curse under his curse. it was like he was sharing his body with someone who could take control when ever they wanted, pull him away from his loving family and in to the dark.
it was like one minute they where shopping for Draco second year supply's and the next he's plotting to drop a cursed book in to the youngest Weasleys basket. he couldn't stop it.
he had spent so long listening to whatever this thing told him to do that he forgot how to make his own decisions. but he knew what he wanted to do, for now, what he needed to do.
protect Draco, give him a better life.
he looks over to see him laying there, eyes open and dead looking in a corner. the room was dark and the only light coming from the corridor behind him causing a single stream of light to land on Draco's face. his once bright platinum hair now dull and gray ,long and untidy. but not unkept he knows Draco likes baths, likes being clean, he was obsessed with it, keeping clean he used to spend hours trying to scrub away the marks those monsters left on his body. scrubbing until he bleeds.
if Draco liked it Lucius will do anything to get it for him just in the hopes it would make him feel something but even when Draco is being bathed his face still remains empty and hollow.
during there first trial Harry potter came and vouched for them bringing the other two along. but the entire time he was looking at Draco not at Lucius nor Narccica. he was looking at Draco, watching as his cold eyes stared at the lights above them the thousands of candles compact into the room causing the room to light up and shine on Draco's face. he was slunched back in his chare like a doll being placed on a seat. that's exactly how he was described.
"Harry...it's okay" Granger whispered in potter's ear. "there was nothing you could have done it was out of your control"
"yeah mate it wasn't your fault" Weasley blurted slightly louder then a whisper. Granger looked at him as if to say lower your voice and potter opend and shut his mouth. never looking away from Draco. "look at him. so... tired " he finally pulled his eyes away from him and to the ground
"yeah kind like a doll being forced to sit down" Weasley blurted in a obviously insensitive tone for the situation Granger almost immediately elbowed him and he shut up.
"let's... just go" Granger whispered.
they all looked up now looking directly at Lucius and Draco noticing he was listening. I went to hold Narccica hand as she was clutching onto Draco's and noticed he was looking at them to staring like he just happened to be looking over there or he wasn't looking at anything at all. his eyes a light from the candles.
"good morning Draco"
Lucius whispered
