Work Text:

It all started when Atsumu found that weird book lying in his main campus library.

Normally, he doesn’t go to the library a lot, but he needed to find certain books for his Eastern History research. The history section was not the hardest to find in the huge library, but it was kind of creepy. There were not many students then, just a few sitting on the first floor with their laptops and random books around them. The history section was on the last floor, secluded like all past events away from modern disciplines.

Atsumu felt like he had entered a different dimension when he reached the last floor; he felt the temperature drop a couple of more degrees, the lamps kept flickering and Atsumu could’ve sworn he heard a chuckle that caused shivers to run down his spine.

“Nope, nope Imma just get the book I wanted and leave,” muttered Atsumu. It was a good plan, a one-step plan that he didn’t end up following anyway.

Atsumu had found the book he was looking for pretty easily. It was on a high shelf in an abandoned corner, but thanks to the library’s organized system it was easy. The shelf had many old books that could be considered gems and like the nerd he was, he got distracted by a few more books. One of the ancient books he had found was a black leather-bound book with silver-painted edges. Despite this shelf collecting dust, this book looked nicely preserved.

While Atsumu was checking the book and just skimming it, the light began flickering again startling him.

“Fuck, that freaked me out.” He put his hand on his heart to try and ease the erratic beating. It was only then that he finally remembered his initial plan, shoved the fancy book in his bag, and dashed out of the library.

A few weeks later, it was time for them to finally take their exams and then spend Christmas with their family. Atsumu felt good about this semester, he handed in all his assignments on time, studied hard, and he was overall optimistic. He also gets to see his scrub of a brother after the exams, safe to say he was very excited.

Or so he had thought. Surprisingly, a storm had hit all of Japan; all flights were canceled, all trains stopped working, no one was allowed to leave the house, and of course, exams were delayed until after Christmas.

If this storm lasted for a long time, it meant a lot of things; he will not be able to go home for Christmas, he might forget everything he has studied so far, and he will be so bored and lonely.

Two weeks later and the rain was still covering the horizon, it was the biggest storm Japan has witnessed in the last 50 years. Rain, lightning, and thunder all covered the world in complete misery. The internet was down, and all forms of communication were cut down. It was Christmas Eve and Atsumu was miserable.

He decided to pass the time somehow, who knew life was this boring without the internet? He started cleaning his wardrobe, cleaning his shelves, and finally his desk. While cleaning his desk, he came across a book he had forgotten he brought. The black leather book looked like every nerd’s wet dream, once Atsumu realized that this thought had crossed his mind, he felt pathetic. When was the last time he had a partner? Ugh never mind.

Atsumu opened the book and was surprised by the fact that some of the passages were written in very old kanji that even he couldn’t read. He kept skimming until he came across a very interesting section; the title was something like “summon your own helper”? he wasn’t sure, but summoning someone that could bring him WI-FI right now sounded like a really good idea right now.

After reading the same section a couple of times, he had a vague idea of what he needed to do. He then started reading the syllables he didn’t understand but what was the worst that could happen, he didn’t believe in demons anyway., As soon as he finished reciting the words the light suddenly went out, he would’ve been in complete darkness if it wasn’t for lightning striking the sky every once in a while.

“Ah great now the electricity is gone, fuck ya storm, and fuck ya stupid useless book.” He shouted at the air in front of him, two weeks of bent-up anger catching up to him. Surprisingly, the light came back on out of nowhere as it had never gone away in the first place.

Atsumu decided to go get some water from the kitchen. He didn’t believe the book would do anything, but still, the lights going out gave him a jump scare. The cold water soothed his dry mouth for a moment until he heard a scoffing from behind him. Atsumu froze in place not daring to turn around, hoping at least that he might’ve imagined the scoff.

“Turn around, and face me, human. You summoned me here after all.” A low voice said right next to his ears, sending shivers down his spine. Atsumu turned slowly not knowing who or what he was about to face. Out of every scenario that came to his mind, a handsome-looking man who was very normal was not what he expected. Of course, if you didn’t count the weird leather outfit, the person would be counted as normal. As he kept checking the person out, he couldn’t put his finger on it but something about the guy made him look devilish.

“I hope you’re done staring because we have a lot to talk about regarding your contract.” The guy said rolling his demonically dark eyes. He looked almost annoyed to be here, but Atsumu didn’t care eye candy was eye candy.

Atsumu was still kind of in shock, sitting on the couch while this guy demon was sitting on a chair in front of him, he still didn’t believe that the book actually did something. The History major in him was screaming, while the rational side of him was a little alarmed.

“Are ya sure yer a demon?” Atsumu, after a while, asked the demon, or Sakusa as he had asked him to refer to him.

“How many times are we going to go over this Miya? Yes, I am a demon, no, I’m not a normal guy dressing like a dominatrix for fun, no, I’m not going to show you my tail and horns. Now can we discuss what you want so I can give it to you and get the hell out of here?” Sakusa rubbed his temples, feeling like he might experience a headache any moment now. Atsumu deflated a little in front of him; you can’t blame the guy for asking questions, it’s not every day you get to see a demon in front of you.

“Can I ask one final question? Please?” Atsumu blinked his eyes trying to act cute.

“You don’t look cute doing this, but fine I can’t stop you anyway,” Sakusa exclaimed muttering the last part to himself.

“Great! Now, do ya ever get famous people asking to make a deal with the devil, or is it just us common folks?” Atsumu’s eyes brightened as he leaned forward and who was the demon to deny such curiosity?

“Of course, they do, how do you think Queen Elizabeth and her husband managed to live all this time? or how do you think Lincoln was assassinated?  I’m afraid to ask how you think people read and liked Twilight, so we’ll leave it at that.” The demon brushed his hair out of the way watching the human’s face change from curiosity into Awe.

“The lore, the History, Oh my god.” Atsumu was amazed at the information he just found out, even if the last one wasn’t that surprising to him.

“Okay, now I know what I want, I need you to get me Wi-Fi to tell my brother about this,” said Atsumu, still high from the rush of meeting a demon and finding things he shouldn’t have found.

“Are you dumb? No, actually don’t answer this. Out of all the humans, I met you have to be the stupidest, and I thought this guy I saw last week was stupid enough to ask me to help him find evidence that the aliens built the pyramids-” Atsumu looked at the demon who was still talking to himself, and though damn you finally did it Tsumu, you broke the guy.

“um, Sakusa?” Atsumu tried but he couldn’t even get a word in because Sakusa just stood up out of nowhere

“No! Don’t open your mouth, I can’t believe you want to sell your soul for fucking Wi-fi, that’s it, I’m resigning. This is too much for me, I just wanted to go to college, and Everyone was like noooo but devil Corp is hiring, you’ll enjoy it there. And let me tell you something Miya, I’m not enjoying it because of people like you, and not even you being pretty can make me endure this.” Sakusa started moving closer to him until he was in his face.

Atsumu was panicking, and he didn’t know was it because the hot demon was in his face, or because the hot demon just called him pretty, or was it because he realized something entirely different. “What do you mean to sell your soul?” Atsumu exclaimed.

“Exactly what you heard Miya, didn’t you read the conditions before you summon me?” it was now Sakusa’s turn to look at Atsumu suspiciously. Atsumu averted his eyes from Sakusa’s. “So, about that-” he trailed off not wanting to piss off the demon more. “Fucking spill Miya, I don’t have the entire day.” Sakusa’s voice was dangerously low making Atsumu want to submit and just tell him everything. And so, he did but not without avoiding the demon’s eyes.

“Okay, but you can’t blame me for that. So, the book was written in some kind of old kanji that I couldn’t understand. I barely could understand that I will be summoning a demon, so ya have to give me the benefit of the doubt here.” Surprisingly Sakusa moved his face away from Atsumu and was now towering over him with raised eyebrows.

“Show me the book, Miya,” he said not sounding as close to a meltdown as he was moments ago. Atsumu handed the book to him causing him to chuckle.

“Where did you even find this one, it’s a very old version.” Atsumu gulped, weren’t demon books supposed to be old anyway. “I found it in the library?” Atsumu was confused, what was going on here?

“This book is an older version of the one we use today; it’s also not updated rules-wise, and language-wise. So according to the old rules, you have agreed to spend eternity in hell in exchange for a deal. However, I knew that you’re a dumb human, and you didn’t know that, so I’ll still give you a deal according to the new rules. Which are you getting a deal, but your soul is mine after you die.” Sakusa summed up quickly sensing the human’s distress.

“Oh,” Atsumu said, his eyes wandering. There are so many things to contemplate, so many things to consider. Was his soul worth selling? He knew he was spending eternity in hell anyway, nobody sharing DNA with Samu was safe. But knowing that there was another option, what would he choose? What was the one thing he really wanted?

He knew what he wanted, he just had to make sure of one last thing. “Once my soul is yers what are ya going to do with it?” Atsumu just needed an answer to this one question before he was sold.

“What do you mean what am I going to do with it? It just will be mine. That’s it.” The demon shrugged which didn’t put Atsumu at ease but hey at least his soul wasn’t going to be tortured eternally in hell.

“Okay, I think I know what I want. I want ya to be my Christmas date.” Atsumu was settled. The demon could see how sure Atsumu was but still, that didn’t stop him from questioning the human.

“I’m not going to ask; I’m just giving you a chance to explain.” Sighed Sakusa, contemplating the life decisions that made him end up here.

“Well, what’s there to explain? I’m lonely. I’ve never dated anyone, and the atmosphere is depressing, and it’s Christmas so can ya Imagine? I don’t even have a tree. I can’t see my family or even talk to them because stupid storm. And did I mention that I’m lonely? Also, ya look very attractive. Please be my Christmas date. Ya don’t have to do anything ya don’t want. Ya just have to be here with me and do Christmassy stuff with me.” Atsumu was rambling and Sakusa had to admit -if only to himself- that it was kind of endearing. He shook his head a little and Atsumu could’ve sworn he had seen a smile.

“Okay, you win Miya, I’ll be your Christmas date and in exchange, your soul will be mine.” He looked at Miya’s twinkling eyes and he could only think about how beautiful they were. Maybe it wouldn’t be that bad to spend Christmas with him.

“Not only this Christmas though, but Every Christmas until the day I die, Omi Kun,” Atsumu said as cheeky as ever, or at least that’s what Sakusa thought.

“you’re getting ahead of yourself, what if you had future partners, plus what the hell is an Omi?” Sakusa rolled his eyes he hated that he had to pretend to be annoyed.

“Sakusa Kiyoomi is a mouthful, okay? how about this, ya'll spend this Christmas with me then we’ll see the final contract’s conditions.”

“you’ll be a terrible businessman Miya,” Sakusa pointed

“That’s why I’m a history major, and not a business major, Omi.” Atsumu was sassing him, but he didn’t mind. He hated how the blond grew on him in just an hour. A moment ago, he was dreading his existence, the next thing he knows, he was actually looking forward to this.

“You know what, I wouldn’t let you sign the contract now. And keep in mind that I’ve never done this to anyone before,” Atsumu was about to celebrate a little, but then Sakusa interrupted him.

“However, I still need to have a guarantee that you won’t escape this-” Atsumu was still listening closely, but he never would’ve guessed the next words that came from the demon’s mouth.

“I need to take a kiss from you.” Atsumu spat the hypothetical water he was not drinking, and the demon realized how this might’ve sounded.

“Listen, it’s not like that. Usually, I take blood before the deal is sealed but since the deal is not sealed then I need a kiss to connect your soul to mine-” Sakusa was rambling, crimson tainting his cheeks at how the human made it embarrassing.

“You know what? Come over here Miya,” Sakusa interrupted himself, making Atsumu stand up and move slowly toward where he was sitting. When Atsumu was right in front of him, Sakusa spread his legs carefully and pulled Atsumu between them who automatically put his arms on Sakusa’s shoulders.

“Take a seat,” Sakusa whispered so gently, that Atsumu had no choice but to oblige. Sakusa put his hand under Atsumu’s chin and whispered, “open your mouth.” Atsumu felt hypnotized, he was about to have his first kiss, but his head was empty of everything except thoughts of the man under him. The gorgeous man who was wearing leather pants and a top that left his chest bare. The man who only had to look at him to make his heart explode. The man who was not really a man and he didn’t need to be to make his brain scream at him.

Kiyoomi pulled Atsumu’s chin slowly towards him, his naked chest touching the latter’s clothed one. It starts with a gentle hand cupping his cheek; he moves the other from his chin. Kiyoomi cradles Atsumu’s face in his hands. They are close, oh so very close, and Atsumu is suddenly aware of everything. His heartbeat, his breathing, Kiyoomi’s broad chest. Atsumu shifts on his lap, leaning into the ginger touch of his hand.

There it is.

The touch of their lips.

It is as smooth as an inevitability; a gliding together. Their mouths brush together. A touch like a whisper一a gentle grazing of Kiyoomi’s full lower lip across both of Atsumu’s in an upward lift, and then whatever space had been between them evaporates.

This is all there is; a kiss, a bond.

Sweet and soft and shaking.

Soft and warm and deepening.

There is space again, for a fraction of a moment, and then it is gone.

Atsumu feels Kiyoomi’s desperation as his hands move his face down to his neck, holding him in place. They continue downward, exploring Atsumu’s clothed body. And he feels it grow deeper as Kiyoomi kisses him in every passing second with a need greater than the one before. He breathes him in, drawing the fragrance of his skin into his blood, the floral scent striking him like an opiate.

He dares to touch Kiyoomi’s exposed chest, feeling the muscles tense underneath his palms. He dares to feel the sculpted lines of his body; he feels Kiyoomi change as he is discovered, breathing harder when Atsumu parts his lips and grants him entrance.

The taste of him and the feel of him is overwhelming. Atsumu’s fingers dance over Kiyoomi and he shakes now from the touch, and he crushes Atsumu against him, doing whatever he can to keep him as close as possible.

It is so much more than a sloppy signature on the dotted line at the bottom of a contract. It is so much more and they were both afraid to acknowledge it.

Atsumu felt it, and so did Kiyoomi; the bond, the seal that branded them both together. His soul, which he was sure was his, his entire life, no longer felt like his. ‘It wouldn’t be so bad for the rest of him to be owned by the demon,’ Atsumu’s brain supplied, not surprising him. His eyes staring at the two brown pools of the man beneath him, Atsumu realized that he wants nothing more than to surrender himself to Kiyoomi. He was his; body, soul, and mind.

As if Kiyoomi could hear read his mind, he leaned forward again, resting his forehead against Atsumu’s, eyes closed, and he sighed. “Are you sure, you only want me for Christmas? The deal is not entirely sealed yet.” Kiyoomi whispered, not daring to admit that for once in his life, he wants something, he wants someone and this person is setting on his lap. Atsumu, however; understood the implication of Kiyoomi’s words making him smile.

Atsumu pulled away to be able to look Kiyoomi properly in the eye, “I’m yers, Omi, as much as you want me, I will be yers.”

Kiyoomi felt the walls around his heart, break down brick by brick, however; leave it to Atsumu to ruin the mood.

“So, can I see your tail now, Omi?”
