"Can I kick it?" Rainbow Dash asked for the hundredth time. She looked at the apple tree they were monitoring and pouted pleadingly at Applejack.
"No, ya can't," Applejack groaned for the 101st. (The extra time was when she noticed Rainbow's mischevious grin.) "Ya gotta wait until the fruit's ripe, and as of now..." She looked at the watch on her front hoof and felt the ground's aura to confirm. "Just a few more minutes. I know you can do it." Surely performing with the Wonderbolts taught her something?
"It's so hard!" For once Rainbow wasn't being a gifted liar. Her eyes darted in directions even Pinkie Pie's wouldn't, her hooves unconsciously scuffed the orchard's dirt, her wings twitched, and she couldn't suppress an annoyed grumble. Applejack wondered why she was here—apple picking clearly wasn't her thing. "Does it have to be exact? I never follow best before dates and it hasn't hurt me."
Applejack rolled her eyes and thought, Ya sure about that? She sighingly shook her head. "Exactness matter when ya make money on quality. They should've made you the Element of Patience," she muttered not quietly enough, for Rainbow glared daggers with her infamous impulsiveness. "What if I said it was a few hundred seconds?"
"Even worse!" Rainbow spread her hooves and collapsed to the ground; Applejack scoffed and trotted to the tree. Rainbow had wasted time being childish—there were barely a hundred seconds left! This harvest would go smoother if they argued more often...
