jeongguk is many things…
he likes to paint and write and draw, but he is a procrastinator first.
All week long he’s heard about the commotions that this year’s blizzard was going to hit his quiet college town harsher than usual.
And yet he still neglected to buy himself everything he needed.
He had somehow lost an entire bottle of toothpaste while having enough for the night left in his bottle.
And he wasn’t a terrible cook by any means, but he could only work with what he had and what he had were ingredients.
He doesn’t remember exactly /when/ he became an ingredient house, but it was clear he forgot how to shop like someone who knew what they were doing.
And when this had all finally dawned on him, the only thing he could see outside was the ice covered the streets like it owned the place.
There was absolutely no way he was about to get into his car and crash it for items that were probably long gone by now from people with more common sense than he had.
He had spent the better part of an hour debating taking the drive, but he knew there was no point.
Even if he had brand new snow tires, it couldn’t suddenly give him traction where there was nothing to grab onto.
And even if had he made it there safely, what’s there saying that he’d make it back in the same condition as he left in?
Plus, too many videos had popped up on his fyp of cars sliding into other cars and down steep roads and way too many other incidents he wanted absolutely no part of.
But he was getting desperate and hungry, and he needed something with actual substance.
He wasn’t usually even home on these days because he had class, but the campus shut down well before the snow could even stick.
So when he sees someone outside the living room window, he almost doesn’t catch it because for one who would be outside right now and for two, how were they moving so fast?
He can’t help the curiosity pushing him towards the window to take a quick peek, and that’s when he sees him.
A taller boy on blue and white skates and an adorable matching snowsuit was skating up and down the street.
It didn’t take long for jeongguk to realize it was someone he knew the longer he saw him skating. He knew those moves anywhere.
Jeongguk had pulled the curtain back further just as Taehyung had been doing a spin, the tuffs of his blonde hair peeking out under his beanie.
It was hard to tell, but he was sure the older boy was carrying the warmest smile on his face as he went up and down the roads on his skates.
It almost made jeongguk feel silly that the thought had never even occurred to him he could just skate to the store.
They used to skate all the time together, but when college started back up in the fall, they just didn’t have as much time for the rink anymore.
But he missed him…
And he hasn’t seen taehyung in what felt like years, so he knew he was making the right decision as he ran towards his door with his skates in hand~~
