”Hyung! You’re obviously lying”
”But I’m not! She’s real, I’ve been with her for three years already” Chan exclaims knowing that it will be to no vail. Everyone that knew Chan, knew that he was a private person about his life (only his friends knowing) but honestly - even his friends were in the dark about his private life. They only knew what they saw or heard from the guy himself.
So of course they didn’t believe it when Chan said that his girlfriend was flying to Korea for their annual Christmas party because he thought it was perfect timing to finally meet her.
He didn’t want to introduce them to his girlfriend because he didn’t know if the relationship would actually work out since it was long distance - with Chan traveling to Australia twice a year to see her (and his family of course too).
She was already close to his family, especially Hannah, since the girls became friends through a summer camp, way before Chan had the opportunity to meet her. Hannah always bragged how she helped her brother meet his “soulmate” and would bring it up every time she was able to.
Chan knew that if they had ever broken up, her relationship with his family wouldn’t be sabotaged. But with his friends, he didn’t want any bad blood running between them and her - because even though Chan was the oldest within the 8 of them, his friends always felt the need to protect him.
“If Chan-hyung says he has a girlfriend, then he has a girlfriend. Let’s believe him” Chan started to smile at how Felix came to the rescue, “and if it was all a lie, then we don’t get mad at him alright?” he finishes his sentence and the younger laughs at the oldest reaction.
“We’re not saying it’s unbelievable that you have a girlfriend, but it’s just that you’re so private about your life - it’s a bit crazy thinking such a workaholic like you has time to have a girlfriend”
“Okay maybe I understand why you will think that, but I honestly do have a girlfriend. I just kept it a secret until I knew that our relationship will be heading somewhere” Chan explained and took out his phone. He scrolled through some photos until he found the most recent one with his girlfriend.
It was from when Chan went to Australia in July. It was a picture of when the couple had gone to the beach with each other’s family to celebrate the couple’s 3rd year anniversary. Chan was back hugging Y/n while she was leaned back to place a kiss on his cheek.
He smiled and showed the guys the picture who gasped, “he wasn’t lying!” Jeongin gasps the loudest as he starts giggling and jumping around with Hyunjin. “When exactly is she coming?” Minho couldn’t help but ask.
While putting his phone away Chan casually answers, “her flight took off four hours ago”
“So she’ll be here just in time for the party?”
“She should be, yes” Chan confirms. He could feel the energy surging through the house. He saw how everyone started running around, trying to start getting everything ready for later tonight. Chan swore he heard Minho saying ‘everything has to be perfect for later, we can’t disappoint hyung’.

“I’ll go pick her up guys, her flight should arrive soon” Chan announces and all he hears are ‘okay’s’ and ‘be safe’ as he walks out the door. The Australian felt really happy that the guys hadn’t actually met her yet and they basically already considered her part of their little family. That was all he really wanted, for her to feel included. He knew that his friends would love Y/n, he believed that his girlfriend had at least one thing in common with each one of his friends.
Both Y/n and Minho loved to dance and they expressed themselves beautifully through dance.
Y/n had the same amount of love for food as Changbin did and she could probably out-eat his friend. And his girlfriend’s aegyo was up to the level of Changbin’s.
Both Hyunjin and Y/n enjoyed drawing and it sometimes gave Chan a headache on how dramatic both of them are.
Jisung and Y/n both struggled to meet new people but when they were comfortable, they expressed themselves without a worry in the world.
Felix and Y/n could bake until their hands and taste buds fell off.
Y/n’s love for dogs was the equivalent to Seungmin’s and they would both cry over cute dog pictures they could find online. Chan expected both of them to throw snarky comments when they finally met.
Jeongin and Y/n were both still little kids at heart and that’s something that Chan loved.
By the time that Chan arrived at the airport, he saw his girlfriend walking out the airport and looking around. It took him about one minute to park in front of where she was and he felt complete when he saw the excitement in her face.
Y/n stepped out of the airport and did a small stretch as she looked around - hoping to spot her boyfriend’s car. Chan had texted her that he should be outside around this time but she couldn’t find his car. There’s traffic so maybe that’s why.
She stayed in her spot (making sure she didn’t block anyone’s path) and was about to text Chan when she saw his car park right in front of her.
She felt her heart start pounding against her chest, she felt really happy and excited to be with his boyfriend until January. She jogged up to his car and koala jumped on her boyfriend when she had reached him, “oh my god I missed you so much” Y/n cries and Chan holds her tightly, not wanting to move from that position.
“I missed you too, I’m so glad you were able to come” Chan kissed his girlfriend’s head.
They remained in the position for a good few minutes until Y/n jumped back down and Chan placed her luggage in the car and finally made their way back to Chan’s house. “Do you think they’ll like me? I mean, I was non-existent to them for three years - I understood why you didn’t tell them so that’s why I didn’t say anything. I’ll be surprised if Felix does recognize me” Y/n rants to her boyfriend.
“They’ll love you, I promise you that. And I’m pretty sure he didn’t, I show them a photo of you and he didn’t say he remembered you. He only met you once two years ago and we didn’t mention our relationship- it probably slipped his mind” Chan explains and Y/n hums in response.
“I already know I like them from everything you’ve told me” Y/n smiles, “I studied my Korean a bit harder ever since you told me about coming over for the holidays. You said that Minho is the one that doesn’t like talking in English, right?” Chan nods, “ah okay, well I hope my Korean is good enough to talk to him”
They spent the rest of the drive catching up, as they hadn’t seen each other in person in 4 months. They stop at a convenience store to grab snacks (as Chan knew they’ll need something to snack on after dinner) and headed back to Chan’s house.
“Why am I feeling nervous now?” Y/n laughs nervously. “I’ll be here don’t worry” Chan gives her a comforting smile and grabs her hand, leading her up the small stairs to the front door. Chan opens it and they’re both met with complete chaos.
Loud talking coming from all across the first floor, the loud beeping from the oven probably indicating that Felix had just finished baking, animated video game sounds coming from the living room on their right accompanied by screaming and Chan swears he heard loud music coming from upstairs.
Y/n’s eyes widened at the sudden loud environment, not expecting something like this. Chan had mentioned on how his roommates (his best friends) were extremely loud and hard to “control” so the house was always chaos. She never expected it to be like this, but she found it quite comforting.
Jisung and Jeongin were the first to see the couple standing by the door. They immediately paused their game and went to great them, “hyung you’re back! Is this Y/n noona?”
“Hi I’m Y/n” she introduces herself, a huge smile on her face. “Wait please don’t tell me” she stops them before they could introduce themselves.
“Jisung” points to the left, “Jeongin” points to the right. The youngest of them smiles, “yes! I’m Jeongin and he’s Jisung-hyung! Nice to meet you!” Jeongin greets her cheerfully and Y/n could already tell he’s going to be her favorite.
“You can meet the others later jagiya, go get some sleep in my room okay?” his girlfriend doesn’t reject the offer and follows Chan up to his room. After getting settled down, she falls on Chan’s bed and immediately falls asleep - the jet lag finally getting to her.

”She should be down in a bit, she needed to rest” Chan tells the guys, all of them quite upset -except for Jisung and Jeongin - that they couldn’t meet Y/n before she had gone upstairs to take a quick nap.
“How old did you say she was?” Changbin asks.
“I’m 23, born in December” all 8 guys turn to the staircase and see Y/n - who immediately shrunk at all the eyes looking at her. Chan cleared his throat and the guys looked away, not wanting to make Y/n uncomfortable.
“Oh no no it’s okay, I expected the stares. Hi I’m Y/n, Chan’s girlfriend” she smiles and sees all the guys returning the smile. They let Y/n guess who’s who and cheer when she guesses correct.
“You’re the Y/n that has made Chan happy the past three years? Have we met?” Felix asks, his accent peeking through as he talked to her in English. “We actually met once but it was two years ago, I had a feeling you wouldn’t be able to recognize me” Y/n admits. Felix makes an ‘o’ shape with his mouth, “ah I’m sorry I must’ve not remember”
”It’s okay, no biggie!”
Y/n is pulled to sit down in Chan’s lap and she blushes as she feels the guys looking at her with goofy grins. Chan wraps his arms around Y/n’s waist and pulls her closer, his head resting on her shoulder.
“Channie is whipped” Hyunjin smirks.
“He’s always been a clingy boyfriend, you all should’ve seen him every time he went to see me - never wanted to leave my side” Y/n tells them and Chan whines, “don’t tell them that”
“Aish, let them know - they need to know how whipped you are for me” Y/n smirks as she puts her hands over Chan’s. “How did he ask you out?” Jisung asks excitedly, making Y/n giggle.
“Jagiya, calm down” Minho says as he holds his lover close making Y/n gasp. She points between the two of them and they only nod, knowing what she was trying to say. “You were right, they are cute”
“I-I what did you tell her?”
“I just said you two are adorable, that’s all” Chan mutters. “You wanted to know how he asked me out?” Y/n asks and Jisung nods.
“Well a fact you need to know, I love the beach. Always lived near it - so he planned us a romantic beach dinner. I honestly wasn’t expecting him to confess right after we had ordered dessert - so imagine my shock when he did. I confessed back, of course, and he told me that he didn’t want to wait to make me his since he had to come back to Korea” Y/n tells them the story.
”He asked me out right there, but he didn’t just ask me-“ ”Did he do some grand gesture?” Felix now asks, too deep in the story.
”He got down on one knee and asked me!” all the guys, except Chan of course, gasped. “I know! I was surprised but it was so sweet, he was looking at me with so much love!” Y/n gushes, feeling her eyes tear up from the sweet memory from all those years ago.
“You deserved much more but Hannah and my mom told me to not do so much when I was just asking you out” Chan tells her and Y/n turns around in his lap to face him and plants a kiss on his cheek. “I would’ve loved it if you were more extra but I would’ve been so overwhelmed”
”That’s why I go an extra step every time I go see you” Chan kisses Y/n earning gagging sounds from the guys and an ‘awe’ from Jisung. “Now we can tell who’s our biggest shipper” Y/n looks at Jisung.
“Always”
”Sorry to interrupt your mushy love thing that you guys have going on, but can we eat now? I’m sure Y/n is hungry too” Changbin steps in and the girl’s eyes widened at the mention of food. “What did you guys make?” she asks and sits down in the chair next to Chan, carefully listening to what Minho and Felix had cooked for their little party.
Jeongin turned on a random Christmas movie just for background noise, knowing that none of them would probably watch it, and settles down next to Y/n.
Minho and Felix, with the help of Seungmin, placed the several dishes on the table - leaving Y/n drooling at how delicious the food looks. “This looks delicious, wah.. I hope you guys didn’t go all out just for me, this is a lot”
“Ah it’s no problem, hyung over here loves cooking so he didn’t mind cooking more for you” Y/n saw how Minho’s cheeks turned red at Felix’s comment and she couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Thank you for cooking oppa” Y/n thanks him and he gives her a small bow, shy smile on his face as he sits down next to Jisung.
They all sit down and start to eat, all of them keeping conversation for a while until they go silent and all you could hear was the sounds of them eating and the movie playing in the background - small compliments on how good the food is (majority from Y/n) thrown once in a while.

”Are you having fun?” Chan whispers to Y/n, when all of them settled in the living room to a movie. The couple had sat down in a bit farther away from the rest, Y/n settled in Chan’s lap. Y/n nods, a smile forming on her face, as she looks at all the guys.
“I am. They’re fun to be around and I’m happy to spend the rest of the month with you too” she tells him, and Chan places a kiss on her forehead. They don’t realize that the movie was paused until Hyunjin clears his throat, catching their attention.
“Hyung, when are you going to ask her?”
Y/n raises her eyebrow confused and turns back to Chan, “ask me what Channie?” she asks. Chan is caught off guard and throws a glare at Seungmin - who doesn’t look one bit regretful of asking.
“I was going to ask you before you left.. but I was going to ask if you wanted to move over here with me-“ Hyunjin clears his throat again, earning an eye roll from the oldest, “-with us since you’ll be living with all of us”
“I wasn’t expecting such a question until we were at least engaged” Y/n says truthfully.
Chan blushes at the comment.
”When are you going to propose? Oh- OH can I help plan the proposal!?” Jisung asks excitedly. “You’ll spoil it, I’m clearly the best candidate to help plan a romantic proposal” Hyunjin smirks confidently.
“Okay okay everyone be quiet- one thing at a time” Changbin speaks up, quieting the two of them. “We’ll see if she moves in and then they can talk about getting engaged” he tells them.
“Do you want to move in noona?” Jeongin asks.
Y/n stays quiet, thinking of the pros and cons. And the only cons she could think of was the language barrier and moving away from her family - which she thinks that they’ll actually encourage her to move with Chan, telling her that they can both visit during the summer.
“I’ll just settle some things back in Sydney and I’ll move in” Y/n decides and Jeongin is the first one to hug her, making her laugh. Jisung pulls her up from Chan’s lap and hugs her - everyone joining in for a group hug.
“It’s a Christmas miracle!” Jisung cheers, making all of them laugh.
“Yah Jisung! This isn’t considered a miracle!”
