“It’s like they’re children,” Bloom remarked, raising an eyebrow as she stood in the window of the front courtyard.
Musa and Sky were bundled up in all the winter gear they could find as they attempted - attempted being a keyword, to build a snowman together, with Musa taking on the body and its decorations and Sky finding sticks and rocks for the face.
“Seriously,” Bloom said, looking over her shoulder at Riven who was watching his respective significant other with a small smirk on his face. “Do you guys not get snow here or something?”
Riven rolled his eyes, walking over to Bloom and standing beside her, placing his mug of coffee on the windowsill. “We do. It just usually disappears after a few hours. I don’t think Sky ever got to play in it. He spent most of his childhood here at Alfea, so….”
“And Musa?” Bloom asked, her fiery red hair flowing around her shoulders as she cocked a pyjama pant-clad hip.
Riven snorted, his eyes trailing over his girlfriend outside. Musa was dressed in a grey jacket that was definitely too big for her, along with a mismatched pink hat and black woollen mitts.
In short, she looked utterly ridiculous. Gorgeous as always, after all, Riven was ass over heels in love with her, but still.
She noticed Bloom and Riven staring at her and Sky and she waved at them, a wide grin on her face. Riven waved back, his head turned to Bloom as he spoke.
“Musa has little to no impulse control. I think she’s almost as bad as you.” Bloom gawked, pushing Riven’s shoulder with an annoyed expression.
“They’re going to freeze their asses off.” She grumbled, pulling her thick cardigan over her shoulders. Riven shrugged, watching as Sky came bouncing over with several sticks and rocks for the snowman.
“It’s not that cold out. Besides,” He said with a pointed look at Bloom, “you’re American - from California. You’re not used to actual winters.”
Bloom rolled her eyes. “I’ve been to Northern California. If the winters here are anything like that, I know what I’m getting into.” Riven snorted, grabbing his coffee mug from the windowsill. “Sure Red. You’ll definitely be saying that when it gets to 8 degrees and you spend all day complaining.”
Bloom, in a very mature manner, stuck her tongue out at him. Riven stuck his out in response.
As if on cue, Sky threw a snowball at the window, and it landed with a dull smack that made Bloom and Riven look at him.
“Come outside!” He yelled through the glass and Riven began to shake his head. “Dude, you’re insane. It’s 2 degrees outside. Bloom doesn’t even have proper boots.”
Sky shrugged, seemingly unaware of the ridiculousness of his request. Musa was still preoccupied with her snowman, ignoring them all.
Riven sighed heavily before turning to Bloom and fetching his keys out of his pocket. He handed them to her with an eye roll.
“There’s boots and heavy down jackets in the armoury. Make sure Silva doesn’t catch you or we’ll all be on stable duty.” Bloom looked at him in surprise before sprinting away. Sky was so lucky Riven liked him, otherwise, he definitely wouldn’t have put up with this bullshit.
Riven dragged his feet as he made his way outside, questioning what deity he had pissed off enough to be punished like this. As if proving his point, as soon as he reached the front courtyard, Musa threw a snowball at him, hitting him square in the nose.
“Ow!” He yelled, stumbling back before glaring at his girlfriend. “Oh, you’re so dead, babe.” He grumbled, quickly leaning down and forming several snowballs for himself, throwing them at her one right after the other.
“Sky! C’mon help me!” Musa begged, as Riven continued pelting her, a grin on his face despite how cold his hands were. Bloom jumped in, throwing snowballs at the other two, her red hair flowing behind her back despite the thick beanie that rested on her head.
“Dickhead!” Musa yelled, and Riven snorted as Bloom ran up to her friend, tackling her and attempting to shove snow down her jacket. He was so distracted by the two girls, that he didn't notice Sky sneaking up on him until he got an entire back full of snow.
“Fucking hell!” He grunted, turning around and jumping on Sky’s back as the blonde attempted to run away. Riven took the handful of snow that he had been holding and began rubbing it into Sky’s hair, laughing at how his best friend squealed like a little girl in response before dropping him on the ground.
They rolled around for a moment before Sky smothered him. “Take that asshole!” Sky yelled and Riven snorted as he managed to crawl out under his best friend’s grip.
Bloom stood up, hair covered in snow as she rolled her eyes at them. “I’m fucking freezing let’s go inside.” She demanded and Riven looked at Sky who simply shrugged.
He held his arm out for Sky to grab and hoist himself up and they found themselves following after the girls, snow falling off of their bodies and onto the ground.
“Oh! We should watch Love Actually!” Bloom exclaimed, her eyes lighting up once they made it back inside. “Hell no.” Riven grumbled, earning an elbow to the stomach from Musa.
“It would be fun. Besides, what else are we going to watch?”
“Die Hard.” He said in response, and immediately both Bloom and Musa started complaining.
“Absolutely not.”
“Die Hard isn’t even a Christmas movie!”
Sky opened his mouth to say something before shaking his head, his hair dipping water as they made their way into the girls’ dorm.
“Die Hard is a Christmas movie. It takes place around Christmas, the characters say Merry Christmas multiple times and they even give presents.”
Musa raised an eyebrow at him, shucking her boots and jacket off. She flopped onto the couch, and Riven joined her, his arm wrapped around her waist.
“A rifle is not a present.” Bloom said, glaring at him from the other couch. “Says who?” He asked, and Sky snorted, rolling his eyes at both of them before grabbing the remote off the coffee table.
“Love Actually it is. Musa come sit with me, these two idiots will ruin the movie with their arguing.”
Before he could say anything, Musa slipped out of his grasp and had flopped down beside Sky, a grin on her face. Bloom was the one to speak. “Damn. Someone stole my man.”
Riven made eye contact with the redhead and he immediately found himself bursting into laughter.
Only Bloom would say something like that. Fucking hell.
