The sky is clear in the Beach city. Near the city was an Abandoned house that usually held practices for gem soldiers around it. However, the gem living was already used to it. The gem living there is the Turquoise crystal. The one that lived through stuff, with light blue wild hair, "a scientist" is what he calls himself, he's very interested in human "traditions" he has a dog Einstein named after a human scientist. So he also decided to use a human name too! He chose "Emmett," and he thinks it suits him.
Emmett put the finishing piece in his lab and it's done! It has all sorts of technology, and living space too. Still messy but everything has its place. He sat back and looked around. Everything looks perfect. His attempt on a time travel machine on one side, his dog's food can opener on the others, and tried to relax...
A tiger eye crystal watched with curiosity the training soldiers. How they all moved equally. They're so strong! And are protecting the others! Our tiger eye wants to be like them too. However, he's shorter than them, a bit weaker... He is looked down upon. The soldier gems took a break and he heard them whispering and side-eyeing him... Great. Anger filled the tiger eye gem. He looked up to those soldiers!!!
However, he noticed a uniform laying around with what it seems no one... He grabbed it and ran. The quartz soldiers looked around. And one of them noticed their uniform is gone, they looked around, and looked at the others mumbling "Did you take it?" "Where's the uniform?" then saw a boy sprinting away and they ran after him.
The boy felt the ground tremble and shake. He barely could keep his composure but still ran with the quartzes stepping on his Heels. Then the tiger eye gem saw an Abandoned house with an open window. He knew the soldiers couldn't reach him there, so he dove through the window.
He crashed into some Metal thing... It hurt a lot. the turquoise shot up at the sudden sound "Whose there?!?" the scientist yelled out ready to summon his weapon, he looked around and saw a boy crash his invention and sighed disappointedly seeing his hard work destroyed like that. "Can I help you?"
The boy looked at Emmett and looked confused 'A scientist? Do they still exist? Do they still make those? Or is he a doctor due to the white coat...?'. Emmett looked equally confused ' Who is this gem? Why the heavy as hell gem crashed my invention? ....... My son now.' The last part might or might not be true of what he thought but offered the Tiger gem hand to get up.
"You're an inventor? They still make those?" The boy asked just straight up. Emmett was taken it back a little. "well-" before he could answer he got another question :
"Or are you a doctor?"
"No, because why do Gems need doctors? We can just reform. " after a small pause " Oh! As you can see I'm Turquoise, but I chose a human name "Emmett" what's yours?"
The boy looked around the machine..."M..." Arm... "A.." A rat running... "R..." looked outside and saw trainees, "T... Marty! I'm Marty, It's nice to meet you!" the boy said with a bright smile. "Well it's nice to meet you too" Emmett smiled back.
"Sorry about your invention, I can help fix it!" Marty offered. Doc just nodded and started picking up the pieces.
"I assume you're some kind of... Soldier?" Emmett questioned from Marty's now outfit that looked like an old gem soldier uniform.
"Well, I was supposed to be. But due to a mini defect." Marty gestures to himself and his height. "It isn't possible, I wish I was, however! I picked up music as a hobby!!!"
"That's great that you have a hobby, but I don't think a defect can do a difference in your job as a soldier despite your height."
"And you're saying you're not a doctor..."
They got to work. Cleaned up the messed-up invention, and rebuilt it. Marty met Einstein and the dog nearly made him fall backward.
Hours passed, they chatted, get to know each other more, and then Marty noticed Einstein wanted to go for a walk. So now Marty went out to walk Einstein and run to the store for food for him, Doc stayed in the lab.
Marty walked into a grocery store leaving Einstein outside. He walked pass cat food and stopped at dog food. As he was looking at the labels in the corner of his eye he noticed a mini fridge with a cat! Marty put the food in the cart and went to the mini fridge and noticed its ice cream shaped like a cat.
He never grabbed anything faster in his life and put it in the cart, went to the self check out and paid for Einstein's food and ice-cream.
After walking Einstein, Marty came back to the lab and only then noticed how messy the garage is, boxes and papers splattered around. He tilted his head up and saw a blue light coming from the other side of the room. The first thing he noticed was that the light came from holograms portraying all sorts of schemes, usually depicting "Y" form symbol and all sorts of things written next to it. Marty crouched to get passed the holograms and accidently touched one, as soon as it happened the hologram poofed and turned into particles
"Hey Doctor?" Marty called out. No answer but he heard mumbling. Einstein found its bed and made itself comfortable.
Marty kept walking past the holograms and saw Emmett standing in the middle of them with his gem glowing! He wasn't looking at Marty
"Hey Doctor! I got the dog foo-" Marty said reached for Docs shoulder.
The Holograms turned into particles. Doc jumped back, put his hand near his gem ready to summon his weapon when he realized its Marty he stood back like nothing happened.
"How long have you been living alone?" After a long pause Marty asked.
"As you can notice, a bit too long." Doc laughed slightly. Only then he noticed how he isn't used to others by this point.
"Well it is noticeable, doctor"
"Marty, I'm not a doctor"
"okay doctor" Marty Smiled trying to cheer up the mood.
Emmett just looked at Marty. "I'm not a doctor, I'm a scientist."
Pause.
"Okay Doc " Martys face was perfect depiction of ":D".
Doc gave up on trying to correct him. However, what other shenanigans will this duo plan to do next?
