Work Text:
Soft sobs are heard from inside a room. Inside it was Arataki Itto, comforting a crying Kujou Sara. He reassures her, planting soft kisses on her forehead.
Since their relationship started, sessions like this would happen when Sara came home from work. She’d break down in tears, her Stoic facade breaking, her bottled-up feelings coming out. Itto, on the other hand, comforted her with affection. She loved it, and she loved him. Furthermore, she’d melt at his touch as she cried in his arms.
“...Don't listen to anything they say. All that matters is that I love you so much, okay?” Itto says as he cups her cheek and wipes the tears from her face.
Itto loves and admires her so much. From her social status to her fighting skills, even her Tengu features made him charmed by her. She was perfect, very fascinating, even. Although they had a bad history with each other, they chose to make new ones.
Sadly, some people refuse to see her the way he does. They refuse to forgive her for doing the orders given to her by the Shogun. They let cruel, insulting words directed at Sara come out of their mouths. She was just doing her job, so why blame her?
Deep down, it affected Itto as well. He hated that these people won’t shut up and keep their words to themselves. He was used to it. Sara was too. But seeing her cry over the opinions of these individuals broke his heart.
But by the end of the day, they only had each other.
