All around Rin were clock parts as far as the eye can see. He had been wandering this junk heap for what seemed like a few days. The worst part was that the only time he'll be able to leave is his execution, and who knows when that'll happen.
"I can't die here!" He shouted into the endless void, kicking junk as far as he could. He repeatedly called a bunch of similar phrases as if anyone could hear him, eventually getting tired and slumping down to the ground.
"I haven't made amends with everyone yet. Plus I still don't know why Father Funimoto saved me." Rin then felt a few tears fall from his eyes as dissenting voices began to shout in his head. Most of them saying that he should kill himself. "Maybe I should kill myself like everyone suggests..."
"Don't be ridiculous!" A different voice shouted out. Rin turned his head in the direction of the voice to see who spoke.
"Izumo."
There she was, standing on top of a junk hill and staring down at him. "If you kill yourself here, then no one will be able to stop the Impure King that's currently wreaking havoc," Izumo stated as she walked down from her hill. "Besides, didn't you want to kill Satan? How are you going to do that when you're dead?"
As Izumo stepped forward, Rin stepped back. "Get away Izumo!" Rin shouted, halting Izumo's advance. "If you don't my flames will burn you!"
Izumo glared at him, but there was a hint of somberness in her eyes. "Shura told me-" Izumo corrected herself before continuing. "us the situation. You're scared that you'll hurt someone with your flames."
Rin looked down in shame at his powers. Izumo stretched her arms out to both sides to call out to him. "Then go ahead, try to burn me."
Rin was shocked at Izumo's forwardness. But scooted backward away from her. "I, I can't!" Rin mumbled. Though Izumo was not backing down. Both she and Shiemi realized that Rin's flames did not hurt those he cared about.
"I said burn me!" She shouted.
"I won't!" Rin replied back.
"Do it!" Izumo kept on pestering Rin until he finally broke and shot a blue fireball out of his fingertips directly toward Izumo which seemingly engulfed her from Rin's perspective.
His eyes went wide thinking that he just killed an innocent person. Until her voice responded. "Don't you see Rin?" Slowly the flames dissipated to reveal Izumo standing in the exact same place as she was, completely unharmed. No scorch marks, no burns, no nothing. Even her clothes were unharmed.
"Your flames don't hurt me. Not Shiemi, not anyone else." She slowly walked towards Rin who was sitting on his ass in shock. Izumo then took Rin's hand in hers, letting the lingering blue flames crawl up her body. "They're...warm." She struggled to say.
"Remember what I told you on the train? You're no different than any other half-demon exorcist." She then pull Rin up to his feet. "Now lets show them that you're on their side."
