Chapter Text
It was a dark and gloomy day when you made your way to Nevermore Academy. You had stayed with Morticia and Gomez the night before to shorten your journey. As your car silently approached the iron gates, you felt nervous for the first time since leaving your old job. You hoped that the academy would be as welcoming and life-changing for you as it had been for your cousin. While looking for a good parking spot, you glanced at the clock. You were early.
You knocked on the large front door and as if by magic, it swung open to reveal an impressive hall. You tried to remember the directions given by the school board on how to find the Principal’s office and started walking. When you finally reached the door with the golden plaque, you took a moment to calm your nerves before knocking firmly. A melodic voice beckoned you inside and with a confident smile on your face, you entered.
Principal Weems was seated at her grand desk, her immaculately styled hair gleaming in the light coming from a massive fireplace. She waved at you to come closer and her smile was soft and inviting. “Welcome, have a seat. I am Principal Larissa Weems.” You realised you were staring and quickly moved to sit in the comfortable looking armchair across from her. She was easily the most beautiful woman you had ever seen and you found it hard to focus on producing words.
“Thank you, it’s great to be here. Nevermore Academy is exactly as impressive as my cousin told me”, you exclaimed excitedly. She raised a perfectly manicured eyebrow at that, “Your cousin? Ah, of course. Morticia Addams.” You could have sworn her expression darkened at the name but it was gone in an instant and that bright smile returned. You cleared your throat and quickly introduced yourself. “What a lovely name.”, Weems stated and you felt your face warm up, “Now, shall we get started with the interview?”
Time went by and it felt more like a comfortable conversation than a formal job interview. Weems explained the different school factions and the relationship between Nevermore and the town of Jericho. Every now and then you caught yourself staring at those red lips instead of listening to her words and you scolded yourself internally. This was not the time, you had to be professional.
When the topic came to your teaching experience, the Principal paused. “How come you taught at a Normie school?” You had expected the question and simply responded, that English was English, regardless of other personal abilities. She seemed pleased with that answer and scribbled some notes in a Nevermore notebook on her desk. Even her handwriting was perfect, this was truly a goddess among humans, you thought to yourself.
The interview had reached its end and Principal Weems declared you an excellent fit for the teaching position. You beamed at her and moved to stand up from your chair. “I do have one final question”, she said with a thoughtful expression, “nowhere in your record does it state your reason for leaving your previous position. Did something happen?”
You flinched involuntarily at her intense gaze and you could feel cold sweat running down your back. This was the only question you had feared. Trying to act nonchalant, you grinned and replied “I wanted to be surrounded by my own kind again. Nevermore seemed like the perfect opportunity.” She didn’t seem to believe you entirely but she didn’t press the subject and simply stood up.
Wow. You swallowed hard as you took in her tall and regal looking form. You had to strain your neck to look into her eyes and you felt yourself blush again. She walked you all the way back to your car and you had to stop yourself from staring more than once. “It was a delight to meet you and I cannot wait for you to start the semester. I will ensure that all proper documentation will be sent to your home address.” Her words were formal but her smile was easy and relaxed. You thanked her again for the opportunity and soon the gates of Nevermore disappeared in your rear view mirror.
The entire drive back to the Addams family mansion, all you could think about was the Principal and her delightful porcelain skin. You imagined what it would feel like to reach up, fling your arms around her neck and kiss that silky mouth. Maybe you should ask Wednesday for some electroshock therapy to clear your head before going home.
