The Death Pig rampaged throughout Kalydonia, causing chaos everywhere he went, all because King Oineus hadn't paid his proper respects to Artemis.
Unsure of what else to do, he turned to his son. "You're the best hunter in the kingdom, my son!" he praised. "What should we do!?"
"Hunt the boar!" Meleager shouted back, hoping he could be heard over the mayhem. "Artemis is the goddess of hunting, right!?" he continued. "The only way she'll forgive us is if we launch the biggest and most dangerous hunt in history!" he explained. "If we bring down the boar with bravery and skill, surely she will forgive us!"
"Or she might get even angrier!" Oineus countered. "Besides, you can't possibly kill that monster yourself!"
"Not by myself!" Meleager agreed. "I'll summon all the best hunters in Greece!"
"We don't have time for that!"
"Do you have a better idea!?" Meleager challenged, causing Oineus to go quiet for a moment, unable to come up with any alternatives.
"I don't want you to get hurt" the king eventually spoke, quieter than all the shouting throughout the conversation. Meleager smiled weakly.
"Don't worry about me, father" he said calmly. "I'll be fine"
