"Honestly what do you see in him?" One of her crewmates asked her curiously.
It didn't suprise her.
None of her crew expected her to ever be in any kind of relationship. With her cool nature and strict rules to keep everything professional and under control. Some of her crew even urged her to go on a date, which never end up well. Everybody were suprised when they finally found out about their relationship. Especially because it was Monkey D. Luffy we are talking about. The most chaotic and unpredictable man on this planet and her complete opposite.
Luffy wasn't a romantic guy.
He didn't buy Law flowers, whispered sweet words, kissed her every day or tell her 'I love you'.
It didn't bother Law.
Probably because she herself wasn't romantic at all and only showed some affection when they were alone.
She didn't need any kind of those things that most women needed in a relationship.
Law just needed him.
Luffy didn't care about social standarts or people's opinion. It didn't suprise Law, since around straw hat everything was weird and nothing could be compared to being 'typical' in his crew.
When she though that she finally was used to this 'weirdness', he could easly suprise her by doing the impossible.
Luffy didn't care that Law was a lot taller than him or that she was seven years older than him. He just didn't even notice it.
Luffy also showed his affection towards her in other ways.
He could walk towards to her and take her in his arms like she weighed nothing to him.
And she wouldn't stop thinking how strong that small body of his was.
Then he would put her on his laps, because he said so and enjoying the day like he did nothing. Making her feel small around him, although the difference of twenty centimeters in height was clearly visible between them. It was funny to think like that, but it was true. She liked it.
The younger capitan didn't give her gifts. He prefered to share things with her.
He would take her to his favourite spot on the ship and thogether would admire the view or talk for long hours. Sometimes he took off her cap and instead put his straw hat on her with a wide smile on his face.
Everyone knew that Luffy didn't share his food. This was no exception, but during the meal the younger boy while taking handfuls of food he would put something on Law's plate. Saying that she doesn't eat enough.
The doctor really appreciated these gestures.
When he saw how Trafalgar was tired, without a single word he would take her in his hands like sack of potatos and went to bed with her. Despite her objections he could always find some argument, like the fact that she was on his ship and this is an order.
She liked when he says that she can sleep, because he'll keep guard.
I made her peaceful. She didn't quite under stand it, but those words made her feel safe. The small voice in her head that always was telling her to beware finally fell silent. Even though she didn't want to be dependent on anyone. Around Luffy she felt safe and really comfortable. She couldn't sleep that good in years, until the younger capitan appeart in her life.
And one of the most important things.
He made her smile.
He freed her from Doflamingo.
That little brat and troublemaker that caused her a lot of stress during their 'allience'.
She never even though how much she would enjoy her life. She always belived that she would eventually die avenging Corazon's death.
Over the time their relationship was changing as well as she.
She started to smile more and enjoy the company of the straw hat's. Sometimes she even laugh, when Mugiwara did something stupid.
Monkey D. Luffy let her know how wonderful life could be and it wasn't worth dying for that piece of crap.
So what did she see in Luffy?
He was her ray of hope. He could make her laugh and smile for the stupidest reason. He made her feel safe and like at home, so she could relax. His big smile always made her feel butterflies in her stomach. Even when she was losing her patience because of him. As soon as she saw that stupid grin on his face she truned red. During the party she loved when he took her to the dance, even though Luffy was the worst dancer in the world. She liked when it was just two of them and he would cuddle up to her with his rubber hands, so she couldn't go.
There was a lot of to say.
"He makes me laugh." Capitan answered shortly with with slight smile on her face.
Maybe the answer wasn't satisfactory to her crew, but the fact that their captain was happy was enough for them. She could guess.
Trafalgar looked in other capitan's direction. Straw hat was was fishing with Usopp and Chopper. She smiled.
She was just glad that he was here.
Doctor got up from the table and started walking towards them.
Luffy turned to her when he sensed that someone was behind him. She saw that familiar smile that made her heart melt.
"Oi Toaro!" He looked at her full of energy. "Want to join us?" The capitan asked immediately since it was unusual for her to be interested in that kind of activity.
She owed him so much and was just happy to see him.
She probabyly was staring at him too long, because Luffy started looking at her curiously.
"I'm only for a moment." Trafalgar said getting a little closer to the capitan. Finally she gently grabbed his cheeks and kissed him where his scar was. She pulled away from him with a gentle smile on her face.
Capitan could see the little suprise on Luffy's face as well as ligth blush. She probably suprised everyone near the incident. The younger capitan didn’t expect such a thing since Law nerver liked showing their relatioship in front of other people. Today was an exception.
The captain turned to go when she suddenly heard a loud scream and felt a weight on her shoulders.
"TOARO!" The straw hat yelled with joy throwing himself on her shoulders and holding her tight in his embrace. Law almost fell on the ground, because of his weight and zinger. His arms started to stretch, so she wouldn't escape.
"Luffy-ya! What do you think you doing!?" She shouted at him pretentiously.
"Hihihi" The younder capitan laughed only.
Doctor saw out of the corner of her eye the bright smile on brunet's face. She definitely had a weakness for it.
"Hey Toaro," Started the capitan looking at her. "Do it again." He said out of the blue.
Trafalgar could fell how her cheeks started to burn. Oh God it was so emerassing and everyone was watching.
"Get off me Mugiwara-ya!" She tried to ignore his question and began to squirm. "Come on! Toaro, Toaro, Toaroo-" He started repeating her name over and over again.
"Oi Shut up..!" It didn’t sound like a threat more like a request, because of the embarrassment.
Oh this time she definitely was as red as tomato.
