Chapter Text
"Come on, Lucy! You need to find yourself someone!"
"No, I do not! It is not because you find some kind of fun to date tons of guys since you are fourteen, which by the way I disapprove, that I have to do the same!"
"Hey, that mean! It's not my fault if I am a romantic... don't raise your eyebrow like this. And I say it for your own good. Your social contact can't stop at me and sometimes the cashier at the store. I know you, and I know how much of a bright and full of energies girl you are. You love being with people, but you just keep yourself in a hole."
Shaking from anger fist balled at her side, the young woman whispered/shouted.
"And whose fault is that?!" at the outburst, customers turned to look at them, trying to see if they needed to run from some kind of villain attack. Letting her brown hair hide her face Lucy mumbled.
"I -I am sorry that was uncalled for. I need a moment. I'll be back."
Not waiting for the answer from her friend, the young woman made a beeline for the toilet at the coffee shop they were currently at, not sparing another glance.
Sophie sighed and started at the back of her best friend. It hurt so much to see her like this, a cheerful, radiant, and beautiful girl hiding from the world behind shyness, mumbling, and ill-feating clothes. The worst in this situation was that she did play a role in killing the brightness that made her. All because they were children playing a game, murmured a voice so sweet it made her want to throw up. Shaking the irritating thought out of her mind, she turned her head and caught by the corner of her eyes Lucy's phone. An old thing, only good at calling and texting with the occasional research on the internet.
Thinking back at the conversation that just took place, a Cheshire smile made its way slowly but surely onto her face. Ho, well! Now she was her best friend, and as such, it was her duty to make her happy. Which included meeting people and if she found love on the road.
Well, that would be a nice bonus. Taking the black phone in her hand, she quickly searched for the perfect application. Haha, here it was, Full-Hearts.
A perfectly manicured finger clicked on the button download. Watching her reflection on the phone, Sophie couldn't help but wink at herself. Appraising her perfect makeup, pink lips, shadowed eyelid making her green eyes stand out, golden hair pulled back into a high ponytail bouncing at each step she took. She was without a doubt, gorgeous. Not afraid to let it know and make it known. Pulled out from her daydreaming by a ding warning her that the downloading ended, the blonde hummed to herself. Time to enact the plan "Let's-make-Lucy-happy-cause-she-deserves-it-and-since-I-am-a-romantic-and-want-to-do-double-date-let's-go-with-a-dating-app". An evil laugh escaped her heart-shaped lips, making all the other customers turn around with more worries than the first time, but she didn't pay them any mind because her plan was P.E.R.F.E.C.T.
Jason couldn't believe that he was actually doing it. Like it had been his choice to subscribe to the app, even though he would never have done it in the first place if not for the losing bet against Roy. But still, standing here and waiting for the girl. Well, he may be starting to get nervous. Checking his watch for the hundredth time, he started to worry. His date was already ten minutes late, but it was okay. This was Gotham after all. Maybe she got caught in something, nothing to worry about. She was still coming.
Right?
Then agonizingly slow, the ten minutes turned into fifteen, then twenty, twenty-five, thirty. Getting more agitated by the minutes, Jason began pacing back and forth, reviewing the last message they exchanged. It clearly said to meet at the mall across from the video store at three p.m. And yet she wasn't here, nor did she text him to let him know why.
She just tossed him aside like that.
Feeling a pang of hurt, he started to feel more and more like an idiot. Stupid Harper, and his stupid bet. He should have known, it had seemed too good to be true. For someone to agree to go on a date with him.
Like Hell.
She must have realized how much of a screw-up he was and decided to cancel, or she got caught in an attack, or she wasn't even real, and this was some sort of sick twisted plan... Resigning himself, already thinking about deleting the app and forgetting all about this stupid, embarrassing idea by knocking some goons. Jason didn't notice the young woman running into him and crashing onto his back. Only when he heard a BAM followed by a pained whimper did he turn around to find his date sprawled on the floor.
