Kevin couldn't seem to sleep at all one night no matter how hard he'd tried. His face crinkled into a much worried look, as he saw something unexplainable and horrendous in his dream while he made small sounds of discomfort. Kevin tossed, turned, hid his face with the pillow he used to rest his head on and whacked it a few times and yelled in frustration.
As his eyes flew open, Raymond turned to his side, and there was his husband, whose tosses and turns seemed to go on in a matter of seconds. Raymond gently places a hand to Kevin's shoulder as the latter flinched and accidentally whacked his husband in the face with his pillow, and hid his face in the palms of his hands. Raymond seemed unaffected by the whack the pillow had given him and sat upright as he switched on the lamp from his night table.
As he turned back, there was Kevin sitting upright, with his face still buried in his hands, as his cries were muffled. Kevin's eyes and face was blotchy red and tears trickled down his eyes in unbroken streams the minute he'd removed his hands, looking hysterical while trying to communicate verbally with his husband.
Raymond gently wiped away Kevin's tears running down his face by his thumb, and after a moment of silence and calming down, Kevin spoke up, saying that he had a nightmare as he doesn't know what it was about, but something horrible definitely happened.
With his hand, Raymond drew circles on Kevin's back to help even his breathing. He shortly came back with a glass of ice cold water in one hand and their fluffy boy Cheddar in another to help him sleep for the night. After Kevin downed the glass of water in one gulp, Cheddar licked his face clean of the tear tracks running down from his face, as to which his soft sobs turned into laughter, much to his husband's viewing pleasure.
With their fluffy boy Cheddar in their midst, Raymond and Kevin are finally able to go to sleep again for the night.
