A Small Evening Waltz

Summary:

Damon felt a blush creep on. It felt.. odd, to stare at him like he currently was, but he really couldn't help it. The man was the definition of elegance, sophisticated even in his fury. Thinking about the Lawyer made Damon sigh, leaning his head against his hand.

Work Text:

"I'm shocked there is even a radio here.." Wolfgang would fiddle with a few of the switches on the radio. It stood the test of time, that was for sure. Still, was it not a tad risky of the game makers to put a radio in the hands of kidnapped people?

"It sure is old. Why wouldn't they just put a more modern radio, rather than this one?"

"I have no clue." He'd continue searching for a station, until the voice from the radio host began to play.

"Seems like it only plays oldies. I suppose it's fine by me." Akire would smile, turning to Damon. "What about you?"

"I don't mind it." Damon would rest his elbows on his thighs, leaning forward. He indulged himself in the Lawyer for a while, as he could tell Wolfgang was interested in the music: His jawline was sharp, a beauty mark spotted right near the edge of his chin. However, the beauty of Wolfgang was never confined to just a mark. His smile was small, yet it felt so unreal to see Wolfgang in such a peaceful state of mind. Akire's hair was slicked back, as per usual, with the additional strand of hair sticking out. With his blazer lost, you could see how his shirt pressed against his skin. Just barely, though. Wolfgang was currently leaning against the table, eyes closed. Damon felt a blush creep on. It felt.. odd, to stare at him like he currently was, but he really couldn't help it. The man was the definition of elegance, sophisticated even in his fury. Thinking about the Lawyer made Damon sigh, leaning his head against his hand.

"I remember, I had a cousin who loved the classics just as much as me." Wolfgang began to speak, opening his eyes. Though, he only looked up. "Her side of the family, they were quite rich.. so they spoiled her. Gave her a lot of parties. Her birthday parties were the largest, though. We were great friends, so she'd invite me. She loved anything old timey, I guess from around the 19th or 20th century?" Wolfgang would look back down, smiling towards Damon. Damon pretended to ignore the fact that his heart skipped a beat.

"I believe so, yes. The Romantic Era did peak in the 19th century, I believe."

"Thank you. She was really into Romanticism, so her parents would hold ballroom parties. It sure was an interesting thing to experience... but I learnt how to ballroom dance in those parties. Aswell as some slow dancing." He'd laugh a bit.

"You do seem like the kind of person to know how to dance like that."

"Is that a compliment, Damon?" Wolfgang would start to giggle, holding his hand over his face. Damon would stutter, his blush growing uncontrollable. He'd look away, unable to face the Lawyer.

"A-and so what if it is?" Damon couldn't control his smile. He stared off into the corner of the room. In an effort to hide his fluster, he'd let sarcasm drip into his words.

"Then thank you." The Lawyer's words were so sincerely said, that Maitsu felt compelled to look back. It might have been the best and worst decision of his life. Wolfgang was smiling at him. He felt his heartbeat speed up, as he gulped. Akire's eyes resembled an ocean that Damon was almost about to drown in. If Damon looked at Wolfgang too long, he'd be swallowed whole. Not that he minded, but he was still cautious. Wolfgang did unimaginable things to him, let alone his heart.

"Have you ever tried slow dance?" Wolfgang asked.

"No. At least, I don't think so." Damon would shake his head. Wolfgang would stand up straight in reply.

"Would you like to?" He'd stretch a hand out. His request caught Damon off guard. Dance with Wolfgang? Honestly, there was no reason not to. Damon would stand up, walking to meet Wolfgang halfway.

"I've never danced before, so I think you'll have to lead me." The proximity of Damon and Wolfgang was so very close, and it made Damon even more nervous than before. He'd try to smile in an attempt to not show it.

"I don't mind. Take my hand, here." Wolfgang would hold out his hand, as Damon placed his in the Lawyer's palm. Wolfgang then placed his other hand against the side of Damon's torso. "Place your empty hand on my shoulder. My left shoulder." Damon would follow his instructions.

"This alright?" Damon would breathe out.

"Yes. Don't feel too nervous, it's not too tricky." So Wolfgang could tell he was nervous.. but Damon wasn't worried of messing up. He was anxious just being so close to Akire. They began to waltz around the room. There was a lot of space between the dining table and the couch Damon had previously been sitting on, so there was enough room to move around.

"This is honestly really calming, if you get over the fear of tripping up." The smile emerging couldn't be contained, as Damon would grin. With every step Damon took, he felt his body relax. The song playing currently was sung by a soft voice, accompanied with a male voice. Damon was unsure of the name of the song.

"You're doing well so far, I don't think there's anything to fear." The praise went straight to Damon's heart, The Debater slightly biting his lip to stop himself from sighing again.

"Well then, thank you." Damon would chuckle. The two continued to dance around. Even if it was repetitive, the moment was all that mattered to Damon. Maitsu felt as if he was burning, with Wolfgang's hands on him.

"I'll twirl you soon, just a heads up. I hope you know what I mean by that." Damon nodded in response. He was pretty sure what it meant. Eventually, Wolfgang lifted his arm up. Damon felt so dizzy; practically he was being thrown around. He felt himself be pulled in, and he was finally dipped by Wolfgang. Damon was in a daze, his head spinning. He could hear Wolfgang call his name a few times.

"You alright, Damon?" Wolfgang was looking down at him, smiling. Maitsu brought his fingers to rub at his forehead.

"Yea, yea." Damon would drag his hand down his face. Looking at Wolfgang, he couldn't help but smile. "That was.. nice."

"I'm glad it was." Wolfgang would lift Damon back up, keeping his hand on Damon's waist. It made Damon's heart flutter more than he even considered possible. Wolfgang's face was so near to Damon's, he couldn't even begin to think straight. He decided then and there, that he'd kiss him. It could go one of two ways, and even if the Debater was terrified of the wrong outcome, he still went for it anyway. Hell, he could die here. He might aswell try things before he died. Damon would settle his hands on Wolfgang's torso, as he kissed Wolfgang directly. The kiss lasted for a few seconds only, til Damon broke it.

"You kissed me." Wolfgang's seemed shocked.

"Yes I did." Damon chuckled a bit, smiling.

"Oh wow." Wolfgang breathed out a sigh, closing his eyes as he rested his forehead against Damon's.

"What kind of a reaction is that?" Damon would laugh even more, wrapping his arms around Akire's neck.

"You do wonders to me, you know?" Wolfgang would bring a hand to Damon's cheek. Damon leaned into his touch.

"Then surely you won't mind another kiss?"

"Of course not." Wolfgang would lean in for another kiss. Damon wouldn't want it any other way.
