Work Text:

Your back is aching from sitting in that hospital bed for so long. Can't believe you had such shit luck to be in the middle of Shibuya when a meteorite hits, but it's not so bad that you don't wake up from the minute-long cardiac arrest it put you through.

A sigh escapes you as you try to stretch in front of your hospital room's door. The walk you took didn't exactly relieve you of any sores or asleep limbs. You spot a small, dark-colored couch right in front of the waiting area for patients such as yourself, and you take a seat.

People watching passes by time and doing it in a hospital makes you feel bittersweet. Then, you feel an unknown weight sit beside you.

"Meteorite?"

You look to your side and stop. A blond- blond? A blondish, sort of white hair-ish guy is occupying the space. As you take a closer look, he's wearing the same patient outfit you've seen probably a million times now since your stay. His striking eyes seem to be analyzing you back. You don't notice your mouth was slightly agape until you realize he asked you a question. His voice. This... feels weird.

He's pretty.

"Oh, uh, yeah. I'm guessing you're the same?" You reply just a bit dumbly. You have to ignore the slight heat that rises to your cheeks.

He's unusually comfortable and calm as he hums an affirming noise. Or maybe he's just always like that.

"It was only a minute, but didn't it feel different?" The guy slightly tilts his head at you and asks.

"Huh. I couldn't really put it into words, but yeah. It's almost like a few years had gone by and just added onto my lifespan, you know?"

He smirks and ends up chuckling a bit at your explanation. You can't explain why he feels so natural to you. So drawn. His eyes dart to some of the people that faded into the background of you two. You clear your throat.

"Who are you?"

His eyes are back on you. He gets up from your shared space on the couch, still holding your guys’ gaze. "Chishiya." A hand is extended to you.

You take it immediately, almost as if you've done this before, and Chishiya lifts you up. The bridge between you and him breaks when he lets go to dig in his pocket under the patient unifrom.

The disappeared hand reappears with some snack in its grasp. Crackers?

"Cookies. They're better than any other food you'll find here." Chishiya brings your hand back into his and places the aforementioned cookies in your hold.

That cat-like grin of his is showing and you give a small smile back.

"Thank you, Chishiya." There's a pause and he holds his breath. You hold the cookies a little bit tighter, "do you want to get some more with me, then? If they're so good?"

"I had a feeling you'd say that."
