Chapter Text
Keqing and Zhongli were on their honeymoon in the mountains. They were sitting on the edge of a rock and looking up at the sky. When Zhongli looked over to see Keqing, she had her eyes closed and her face illuminated by the rays of sunlight that were streaming through the treetops above them. She was so beautiful in this moment; Keqing had always looked like an angel, Zhongli thought.
As he continued to stare at his wife, Keqing opened her eyes and turned to look back at him. They stared at each other for a few seconds before Keqing shied away from him and her cheeks burned red. Neither said anything for several minutes, opting to continue staring at the clouds above them until Zhongli spoke first.
“Are you happy, my love?” he asked, breaking the silence between them.
Keqing nodded and responded “Yes. Why do you ask?”
“You just seem very quiet today. Did something bother you?” he leaned in closer to Keqing, and Keqing felt herself flush even more. She could feel her heartbeat increase.
She took a deep breath and began to speak. “Nothing, it's just that I...I am happy with you. You know how I have been thinking about this trip all year, and now we finally get to go here. And then there is you. Your smile makes me feel like everything will be fine. And that’s really all I need right now.”
Zhongli looked at Keqing for a while, a small smile creeping onto his lips as he listened to her speak. He placed a gentle hand on Keqing’s knee, giving it a soft squeeze, “Keqing, i want to confess something to you.”
She was a little bit surprised, she thought by hearing those words would mean that he would tell her something that her poor little heart might not be able to take. So instead, she tried to act calm, “I’m listening.”
“I loved many before you, and i’ll see many after you, and i met many when i was with you,” Zhongli noticed she flinched a bit and he continued, ”But you are outside of the geometry of repetition.”
