Chapter Text
Kuina keeps checking her clock cause she doesn't want to miss her appointment today. She likes going to the hospital. She might like it a little too much. But the thought of people gathering together and telling their stories to cure their trauma together is so fun to her. After all, getting hit by a meteor is worth it cause she gets to meet so many people. Currently, she gained several close friends like Chishiya, Usagi, Arisu, Heiyaa, Aguni, and many more. But she still feels missing in some places in her.
She takes off her work attire and changes into her usual clothes when her alarm rang at 4 pm. She then tells her co-worker, Miyuki that she'll be going.
“Miyuki-san, I'm going”
“Ok take care”
She then walks through the rubble of buildings destroyed by the explosion and found herself proud that she survived it. Visible from a distance the only hospital that still standing and didn't ruin by the meteor hit.
She can see many people still undergoing some medical treatment or needing therapy and she's lucky that her wounds aren't that bad so she can go around wearing only bandages.
She then hops on onto the elevator, reads the button, and pressed the fifth one cause it is where her therapy will be done.
While she waits to arrive at her destination floor, she keeps chewing her candy stick cause of course one, you can't smoke at a hospital, and second, her doctor advised her to stop smoking so she did quit.
*Ting*
The elevator bell rang which means she arrived at her destinated place. But before she could get out, she looks at the sign on the wall that say the fourth floor. And she was quite sure she clicked on the fifth one. When she double-checked it, she finds out that it is true that she clicked the fifth floor so that meant someone must be clicked the elevator button on the fourth floor.
She got goosebumps all over her body as she reads that the fourth floor is where the morgue is and she's been there for almost 30 seconds but nobody getting in nor that she sees anybody wanting to go in.
She is about to press the elevator button again but a porcelain white pale skinned hand comes out from the side of the elevator door.
“AH!" screamed Kuina terrified of the white porcelain skinny hand that looks like its impossible to be a human hand.
"Sorry, is this going up?" asked a woman sticking her head from the side. She is so gorgeous in her short dark hair and red lipstick with her deep tone voice making Kuina go silent.
"Oh...Oh yeah," answered Kuina after some time.
Then that woman nods and hops in with her crutches. Kuina hates to admit it, but she admits to glancing at her several times.
She is taller than her, her presence is cold, and her skin is so pale. She wearing crutches and still wearing a hospital wardrobe which means she is still an inpatient.
*Ting*
The elevator bell rang once again and they arrived at the fifth floor.
Kuina holds her hand to the elevator door so it doesn't shut when that woman comes out.
"Thank you," says that woman when about to get out. Her voice is so deep it makes Kuina lost in her thoughts once again.
“Aren't you about to get out?" asked that woman stopped in the middle of the alley just to turn around cause Kuina had been in the elevator while holding her hands on the door for merely 3 minutes and nobody getting in or out.
Kuina then shakes her head to get her up from her daydreaming and get out of the elevator.
"Thank you," says her to that woman
They headed to the same room and nobody was there, turns out they were the first ones to arrive. A few chairs had been arranged to make a circle in that big room.
Kuina follows that woman and took sits beside her while trying to start a conversation but at that moment her mind goes blank so she blatantly spoking something that she can't believe she said it.
"Are...are you a model?" asked Kuina trying to break the silence.
"Sorry... I didn't mean to bother you, just forget what I said. It's just it seemed that I've seen you somewhere and most people that I knew are from the fashion world"
"No, I'm not," there it is again. The deep tone that came out from her voice.
"Oh, my mistake. I'm Kuina by the way, Hikari Kuina. And you must be Ann-san, right? Ann Rizuna-san"
There is tension between them that keeps growing and Kuina realized that she kinda sounds like some pervert.
"I remembered your introduction from last week's session," explained her
"That's right, I'm Ann,"
The tension keeps getting bigger and bigger. Lucky Kuina, people start to swarm into the room and it becomes very noisy. But Ann still kept her cold presence and it comes to a full when she starts to wear her sunglasses.
Not long after that, the session started and Kuina has been really focused throughout it. She just now knew that Ann is actually a Metropolitan Police Forensic Scientist. That explains why she's at the morgue later that day. And again, Kuina found something really interesting in her that she can't explain.
It's Thursday and like every other Thursday since the accident, it's time to go to her appointment. Her favorite day of the week.
Arriving at the hospital, the first thing that she did is visit her mom that seems to keep getting better luckily, and after that off she goes to the fifth floor.
*Ting*
The same thing as last week, the elevator bells ring on the fourth floor and she began to throw a big smile while waving her hands like crazy knowing who gonna come in.
“As expected Ann-san, do you miss work that much?" she asked while holding off the elevator door for Ann that still on her crutches one difference is she only used one on her right leg.
And of course, she got neglected by her who thinks the book in her left hand is more interesting than the golden retriever beside her but after all, Kuina still liked every second of it.
It goes on every Thursday on every other week when Kuina always makes sure to come to the hospital at a specific time and now she also pushes the fourth-floor button rather than the fifth one alone.
*Ting*
The elevator door opens on the fourth floor where Kuina is already ready with her hand up in the air and a bright smile on her face.
"Yoo Ann-san...."
"Ann-san?" says her again turning her head left and right to search for a long-leg woman with big sunglasses up on her nose who unfortunately wasn't there.
Kuina then pressed the elevator button again thinking that maybe Ann was early and she was already up there. And no, it's not true cause the room is still empty.
She then takes her phone then sighs as she remembers that she doesn't have her number.
She doesn't even know why Ann's presence is such a huge the thing for her even though she never even replied to any of her small talk. But one thing she knew is that Ann fill in a hole somewhere in her.
