Chapter Text
It was around 5:00 PM, after school. Mike was slouched in his bed, watching tiktok.
“Still in love with Judas baby~” (An edit of Will to this sound)
OMG YESS AHHHHH!!! I JUST LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!
*scrolls*
This video is from Will’s actual account I can’t believe he posted!! Let’s see…
“Hello tiktok! This isn’t a crazy video, just wanted to let you all know that I will be having a meet and greet in Hawkins, Indiana very soon! You can get tickets from the link I provided in the comments. Can’t wait to meet you all, bye~!”
“OH. MY. ACTUAL. GOD AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!” Mike screamed so loud the whole country probably heard him.
“WILL’S COMING, HERE?! I ACTUALLY CAN’T BELIEVE IT I-”
“OKOK MIKE, YOU HAVE TO CALM DOWN”
Mike takes a few deep breaths.
Let’s just see how much tickets are..hmm $100?! I-
“THAT’S EXACTLY HOW MUCH I HAVE SAVED!”
Mike then immediately orders the ticket with no hesitation. He didn’t need to ask his parents, because they pretty much just let him do what he wanted, which in this case, was great for him. In addition, he had also been specifically saving for something like this. He started saving the very day he let his eyes see Will’s. He knew that he would be desperate to go to some sort of gathering where he would meet Will, so he started saving up money for that very reason. And now this was his chance to use it, and meet his obsession, Will Byers.
“Wait, when is it???!” Mike hadn’t checked the date of the meet and greet.
“TOMORROW-?! WHEN WAS THE VIDEO POSTED?”
Oh.
It seems that Mike was just very lucky, and probably ordered the last ticket. The video was posted 2 whole months ago. He was very disappointed in himself for not seeing the video sooner, but also just glad he still managed to get a ticket, even if it was last minute.
Looks like I’m going tomorrow then!
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“RING RING RING!”
“GAH!”
Mike suddenly wakes up to the alerting sound of his alarm, and slowly processes what’s going on around him, like anyone would when they first wake up. Then, he remembers.
“I’M GOING TO MEET WILL TODAY!”
“Wait- what time is it?”
Oh fuck.
It was already 9:30, and the meet and greet was scheduled to start at 10. Knowing how short on time he is, he quickly throws on an outfit. Although he wanted to spend a lot of time picking out the best outfit for the occasion, looks like he was just gonna have to make do. His outfit of choice was definitely not the best for style. It looked like someone was trying to be stylish but accidentally picked out their parents’ clothes from the 80s. Hell, what he was wearing was probably not even stylish ever. But again, he had no time to think about his outfit and so he rushed out of his bedroom and down the stairs, trying to make his way to the door when he was stopped by his annoying parents.
“Mike! Where the hell are you going, you gotta eat breakfast you know?” His mom barked at him.
“Ugh mom…I seriously don’t have time for breakfast today, I slept in.”
“Mike listen to your mother and come grab some breakfast, I’m sure you won’t be late to whatever it is you’re going to. Probably not important anyways.”
Not important.
NOT IMPORTANT?
Mike’s relationship with his father was not too good. Pretty much anything his dad said found a way to make Mike upset. It didn’t used to be that way, but ever since his little sister, Holly, was born he never made time for Mike or even his older sister, Nancy.
“Dad, mom seriously this is super important I gotta go like now-”
“Alright honey, if you really say it’s that important. Just go get something to eat there or near there if you can, ok?” His mom calmly stated.
*Sigh*
“Thanks, mom. But I uh- really have to get going, bye!”
Unlike his relationship with his father, he actually had a decent one with his mother. He figured that even though she doesn’t always do the best, that she at least tries, and so he decided to give her a chance. After that short conversation with his parents, Mike opens the door and stumbles into his car. His car was probably one of his biggest flexes, other than the one he’d have after today. Although he didn’t exactly care for his parents too much, they were rich, and had bought him a car the day he turned 16. He was 17 now, so it hadn’t been too long after that day. Mike turned the keys in and started to back out of the garage. Oh god was he excited. It was probably the only thing he could think about the whole way there, which wasn’t very long, but still a solid 15 minutes, for it was on the other side of town.
I’m gonna meet Will.
I’M gonna meet Will.
I’M GONNA meet Will.
I’M GONNA MEET Will.
I’M GONNA MEET WILL, AHHH!!!
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ugh.
It was Will’s first time organizing an event where he’d meet his fans, and he was not excited. He had always dreamed of being a famous actor, but never thought it would be as hard as it was at his age. He practically had no friends. And now, he was to talk to his fans, probably his age, knowing they’d never make a real friend for him?
Just great. Today’s the day.
Will slowly slumps out of bed, not very happy. He sees that his manager prepared an outfit for him already.
Huh? Usually she only does this when-
Shit. The time.
It was 9:30 already, and he had just woken up.
OH NO!!!
Will puts on the outfit which was picked for him as quickly as he could, and then makes his way out of his room.
“I’m so sorry!” Will shouts, hoping his manager heard. He doesn’t live with his parents, not anymore. His mom was great, but she had to stay and help his brother, who was a weed addict. His father was the worst . Will hated even thinking about him for a moment. This guy wanted him to be a doctor, and so of course as soon as Will told him about his success in his first gig, he wasn’t excited, or even glad. Instead, he threw him out of the house and told him to never come back. So yeah. He only lived with his manager.
“Will, it’s ok, but we really have to get going. Some of your fans are probably already there.”
“Yeah, I know. I’m so sorry!”
“I already said it was ok, Will. C’mon, let’s go.”
They both exit the mansion, and get into the- car? No. This was a limo.
“You- got a limo for me?” Will asked surprised.
“Yep, you’re welcome!”
“Wow, thanks. Even after I slept in,” Will laughed.
“Yes, even after you slept in.”
“Thanks so much, really.”
“It’s no problem!”
They both stepped into the limo, and hoped they wouldn’t be late to their own event. Well ok. Will kinda hoped they would. He really did not wanna do this, but he knew that he absolutely had to in order to be a good “influencer” or whatever it was called.
They arrive at the event.
*Sigh*
I guess it’s time to do this.
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike gets close to the building, and sees all of the vehicles already parked.
Oh no. I really am late. Are there even any more spots?
Mike goes through the parking lot, hoping to get lucky and find himself a spot. He searches for ages, aisle by aisle, until he finally finds one.
“Yes!!!” Mike shouts out.
He parks in the space and immediately runs out of his car and into the building.
Well, I can’t believe this is happening, but, it’s time to do this!!
