Sunny's POV

Work Text:

"You're less than useless. You're sick."
I can't do this.
"Aubrey loved her and you killed her."
I can't do this.
"Kel loved her and you killed her."
I can't do this.
"Hero loved her and you killed her."
I can't. Do this.
"Basil loved her and you killed her."
I. Can't. Do. This.
"You loved her and you killed her."
Stop.
"You loved her and you killed her."
Please.
"You loved her and you killed her."
I can't do this…

"Sunny…?" My eyes opened. I stumbled back, realizing how close I was to the edge. Where was I? Why am I so high up?
"What are you d-doing..?" I looked over at the voice, who looked completely disheveled. His blonde hair was messy and out of place, his posture was slouched and shaky, his arms and legs covered in bruises and small cuts, bandages covering the bigger ones. He looked wrecked. His hands were bundled up near his chest, him picking at his nails. I finally looked up at his face. His eyebrows were brought into a distraught look, and his eyes were still a light, cobalt blue. Like the sky. His cheeks were lightly dusted in a pinkish shade, and his lips were curved down into a frown. He looked as if he was going to cry.
"Basil..?"
"I-I went to see how you were doing, but you weren't in your room. I searched the whole floor for you, the whole entire floor. I looked through each room that wasn't locked- and- and-" basil started to cry, he covered his mouth with one of his hands and gripped the bottom of his hospital gown with his other. Was he okay? Had I hurt him? What had happened? Where was everyone else?
"Why are you crying? What happened?" I stepped closer to the other boy, very cautiously.
"I- I'm so sorry, sunny!" He lunged towards me, wrapping his arms around my neck and pulling me close. At first I was confused by the touch, but soon reciprocated the hug, holding him close to my chest as if I would lose him if I let go.
"I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you-!" He sobbed more, burying his head into my neck, his hot breath and tears smudging against it. I started to quietly shush him in a whisper tone, stroking his hair softly as he sobbed. I would slowly brush through his soft hair, every now and then massaging his scalp. Calming him down from his outbreak.
"I didn't mean to hurt you…sunny, I'm so so sorry, I love you so much, I would never hurt you, but I did and I'm s-so sorry." Basil spoke endlessly, apologizing each second. His breath hitched within every minute. After he calmed down a bit, I spoke again.
"What do you mean, you hurt me?" I was genuinely confused. My best friend, who I loved, had started bawling and apologizing frantically to me. Had he hurt me? I couldn't feel any physical pain.
"I did! A-And im so-"
"It's okay, please just tell me what happened, basil."
"When you stayed over last night, I —-----------"
"What?"
"---------------------------------•"

Everything went black.
"You hurt him."
"The only person who still loved you."
"He cared about you, and you hurt him."
There was a knife plastered Infront of me. I could see my reflection in it.
"Go on. Do it. You've lost everyone you loved, haven't you? You should just die."
I stepped closer to the knife.
"Aubrey will never forgive you. Kel won't ever forgive you. Hero hates you. Basil will never love you again. You hurt him. You tried to kill him, sunny. It's your fault he's here, isn't it?"
I picked the knife up.
"You tried to kill basil. You should just die."
I brought the knife to my stomach.
"You should just-"

Everything had turned white.
"Hello?"
"Sunny?"
"Basil? Hello!?"
"Sunny! Come find me!"
I headed aimlessly towards the voice, until I reached a small boy with teal hair, watering white tulips.
"There you are, sunny. Could you please water the sunflowers?"
I looked around, finding another small garden area with tiny sunflowers growing, facing towards the sun. I picked up the watering can, watering each flower individually.
"Sunny, you have to do more water than that, silly. Here.." the boy gently placed both his hands over mine, his head peering over my shoulder as he was a few inches taller than me. He tipped the can farther forward, more water flowing through the end of the can.
"There we go." Basil smiled and let go.
"Sunny…will you play me that song again? The one I like?" I nodded, as I would do anything for this boy. I looked down to find my violin in my hands. Shaking, I brought the violin to my shoulder, resting my chin softly on it. I looked back at basil, who was blushing lightly and looking at me in delight.
"You remember my favorite, right? Everybody Loves Somebody?"
I hummed in acknowledgement, slowly positioning my violin bow on the strings, before playing the melody to 'Everybody Loves Somebody,' by Dean Martin. Basil hummed along quietly to the song, closing his eyes and enjoying the melody. I did aswell, focusing on the music I was making. When I opened my eyes, I saw two black ones staring back at me.
"Why can't you do it."
"What?"
"Leave."
"What..what do you mean?"
Omori had pressed the knife he had in his hand against my chest, the tip of the blade cutting through my thin hospital gown.
"It would be better to just die. But you won't. You wont die." He pressed it harder. I felt a sting in my chest.
"He wouldn't care. There's no point, just die." Omori had gripped my shoulder and held his knife with his fist now.
"...stop.." warmth was streaming down my chest now, my head becoming dizzy and light.
"Just die."

I never finished this😍
