It started with Regulus Black. A man on a mission to take down the Dark Lord from the inside. He did all he could, successfully discovering the horcruxes and making a valiant attempt to destroy them. He died a hero, but no one was there to see it. The man was killed by Voldemort's Inferi.
Next was Lily and James. Two loving parents, both members of the resistance. James was a supportive husband and father having grown into his role in the Order of the Phoenix. He was a friend to both Sirius and Remus and held a place in the Wizemgamot. Lily was a tenacious woman, ready to do anything to protect her loved ones. Her role in the Order of the Phoenix suited her and she made grave sacrifices to fulfill that role. Two innocents killed in cold blood in the name of a vile cause.
Voldemort broke down their door before killing James Fleamont Potter and advancing up the stairs to kill his next victim, Lily Evans-Potter. He failed to kill little Harry, but his intentions were clear.
Then there was Frank and Alice Longbottom, two caring individuals who had just had a son. A happy family who deserved better. They were tortured to insanity for the same cause, by one of his followers.
Years later Sirius was pushed through the veil, an innocent man who had suffered on the account of others. A man who paid for crimes he hadn't committed. He was a lover to Remus Lupin and a friend to many. He was killed by his cousin, marking him as the sixth significant victim of Voldemort and the Death Eaters.
After came Dumbledore, the almighty Headmaster of Hogwarts. He was pushed off the Astronomy tower after being hit with the Killing Curse.
This incident had an affect on Draco Malfoy as well. He was forced to be cruel. He was forced to follow a cruel leader, forced to support a cause he didn't believe in.
Mad-Eye Moody followed. He was a mentor to many and a powerful Auror. One of the best. He died a herioc death, having died to Death Eaters while protecting Mundungus.
The Battle of Hogwarts insured the death of another three of her loved ones. Fred Weasley was a brother to six siblings and Harry and Hermione and Lee Jordan. And to all that needed it. He was a kind-hearted bloke, determined to bring joy to the people around him. He was his twin brother’s best friend, his partner in crime and his supporter all at once.
He was crushed beneath a wall. He met his end by the hands of a Death Eater.
Remus Lupin was the husband of Tonks and the father of Teddy. He was a lover to Sirius Black, a friend to the members of the Order and a mentor to many children. He was the embodiment of humility and acceptance. He accepted anyone, because no one accepted him. He was empathetic beyond everything else.
He was struck down by Dolohov in an effort to protect his home and the people he loved.
Nymphadora Tonks was a yound Auror, married to Remus Lupin. She was a caring mother to Teddy. She was a friend to the younger members of the Order and always worked to lighten the mood. She was a thoughtful daughter to Andromeda Black and Ted Tonks.
She was killed along side Remus by Dolohov, fighting for what was right until her dying breath.
A tear fell on the picture of her family. In that moment she, Beatrice Black, swore to do everything in her power to bring them back. No matter the cost.
