Work Text:
One and a half year have passed.
Ji Sooheon, have you reunited with you mother and older brother?
The first love they experienced was short-lived. They knew it but they hoped. Hoped that maybe, just maybe, a miracle would change everything.
But it didn't.
They got their hopes up only to see it crashing down.
Both Ji Sooheon and she, Ok Chanmi.
I thought of going to see Seok Jaebum. But you know what I just couldn’t. How could I look at him knowing that he was my brother’s murderer? Even though it wasn’t actually him. It was his other persona. And that monster Gi Osung manipulated him to do that. Still.
Remember how I almost attempted to kill you after suspecting you as the killer? Not only that I believed all the bad words that were said about my beloved deceased brother. But I forgot the fact that I knew him better than anyone and that he wasn’t like that. It was so unfair of me to think about him like that, don't you think? I was just too dense.
I still keep in touch with Soyeon and Ajung. They are doing pretty well. Ajung is happily living with her new family. I still remember how scary Soyeon was when we first met. And now we ended up being best friends. Well, when we first met, you were scary too. And look at us now.
Ji Sooheon, I miss you so much.
Tears streamed down.
I still have that red string bracelet. No longer as a lucky charm, though. Now I wear it as a memory of you. When I wear it, it feels like as if you were right here with me.
I remember only now that we never said words like “I like you” or something like that. Well, we didn't need to. But there was something I should’ve said back then.
Ji Sooheon, I love you so much. I loved you back then and that was why I could hope that things might get better for you. For us.
Sorry I am late. I love you so much.
Chanmi got up. She looked around. People she once loved were here right now. Her brother. The boy she loved. And to her resentment, the person she hated with all her heart was here too. Just the thought of that made her girt her teeth.
Goodbye, Sooheon. I will come back again.
