The crown upon Izumo's head felt foreign to her. Even more so than the fox ears or the multitude of fox tails sprouting from her tailbone.
Honestly, the title of "Queen of Gehenna" didn't really suit her. She had no idea what to do with her life, especially since she thought her life would end with being an experiment for the Illuminati.
Yet here she was. In the royal bed chamber of Satan's castle. Staring in a mirror in her Pajamas.
This was all so surreal. Like she would blink and wake up back in her bed at True Cross Academy or wake up on an operating table back in the facility Michael ran. But she won't. She knew that she won't.
And it was all thanks to him.
Izumo turned around from the mirror to look at the man sleeping on the bed.
Her lover and the King of Gehenna.
Rin Okumura.
She gave a soft smile as she looked back at him. 'I've said this a million times before Izumo.' The Nine-tailed fox spirit said in her mind. 'But you struck the jackpot by falling in love with him.'
Izumo had to agree with the Kitsune. She gracefully walked to her side of the bed and climbed into it staring at Rin longingly, just before giving him a kiss on the cheek. 'Be honest with me, do you regret this life?'
'No.' Izumo replied as she fell asleep next to Rin.
