Work Text:
"10...9..."
Slip had convinced Finn to show up to the end-of-the-year party the FO held. Finn generally didn't enjoy the "not mandatory but heavily encouraged" gatherings the company held; they always felt out of place and disconnected from the rest of the workforce. But Slip had begged and begged and begged, and eventually, Finn relented.
"...8...7..."
It had been fine when they first got there. Slip dragged Finn around by their elbow as he bounced around the decorated office. Everyone was engaged in polite conversation while some bland music played over the speakers. But time passed, and Slip disappeared, leaving Finn alone in the middle of the party.
Finn shifted from one foot to another, watching as everyone talked and cheered together.
They wanted to go home. But they couldn't just leave Slip; no one else would be willing to take him home.
"...6...5..."
Somehow they ended up pressed against the wall in a relatively empty corner next to one, Armitage Hux. A higher-up who was known for his cold and ruthless nature around the company. One mistake could put someone on Hux's radar, and they rarely lasted much longer after that.
"...4...3..."
But, surprisingly, Finn found him easy to talk to.
"...2...1..."
And very easy to kiss.
"Happy New Years!"
